We love this restaurant and its cozy outdoor patio. Starting with the fresh, warm bread, we enjoyed a delicious salad, lamb shank and hamburger. They offer all the classic french selections and valet parking.
Chez Joel is a wonderful French restaurant in one of Chicago's iconic neighborhoods. The food is well prepared and beautifully presented. On a recent visit we had coq au vin and seabass. Each was delicious, fragrant, and abundant. The coq au vin made for excellent leftovers the next day. Wines by the glass offer a nice variety to go with the entres. It was full and buzzing when we arrived for our 6:30 reservation. One of our favs.

The outside patio was lovely and quiet! Both food and service were very good. One thing however: when telling about the specials for the evening, they need to mention the PRICE. We ordered the lamb chop special (hsving not asked the cost) and the price was $48, which is way above the price point of their other main courses!!!
