“Good experience. It was busy, but we got our order fairly quickly. The food was hot and delicious. Pot stickers were perfectly crisp, the fried rice actually had flavor. Will be back for sure.Parking: Parking in the garage behind is free if you park less than an hour. There is an entrance to the restaurant from the alley.“

“With so many Chinese/Asian options, Katy's Dumplings- Oak Park can easily be missed. But don't! Don't miss out on good quality food with reasonable pricing and good portions. Our go to is definitely their General Taos Chicken. It manages to remain crispy and saucy at the same time! It has a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. Their noodle dishes are also amazing! Great flavor and so filling! Our son loves their noodles and their fried rice!“

“I still love Penny's after all these years going there.... one of my favorite items is the TomYum soup... but a little disappointed that the mushrooms used in the soup seem to come from a can now instead of the fresh ones they used to use. Stir fry is excellent though!“

“Super cool place. It's a part-Vietnamese restaurant and part-convenience store with Asian snacks. It's in a pretty hip neighborhood. The pho broth was decent but wasn't as flavorful as other pho broths I've had. Still tasty. The thing I liked is that they used slightly thicker pho noodles. The salt & pepper fried chicken skin was a little bland, but fried perfectly. It went well with the hot sauce. My favorite dish was the Hainan chicken. It was poached to perfection and tasted delicious with the 3 sauces. The rice was addicting and the side soup made sure things weren't too dry. 4/5 for food, service, and environment.“

“Somehow got lucky and got seated as we walked in. A quick summary:1.) Ordered Sen Cha tea, beef gyoza, and Monster ramen. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted great. Only thing I didn’t like was the limited menu add on options compared to some other ramen places around Chicago.2.) Parking can be difficult to find in the area when it’s busy.3.) Service is top line. They refill waters/tea and clear dishes so fast. Dessert menu came immediately after the main course.“

“I enjoyed a late lunch with Hen Banh Da (Clam Salad) and Mi Quang. Clam salad was everything I imagined it to be and mi quang was underwhelming — lacked flavor and yellow rice noodles were overcooked; I had to add more fish sauce for flavor.Attentive service. I will try this place again and order other offerings.“

“A long overdue review. Noodlebird is one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Every dish is full-flavored, bold, and made with thoughtful and creative pairings. The smoked tofu is incredible, the curry is my favorite, the peanut noodles are so soft and delicious, and the veggie Mac soup is one of my favorites. The bakery is also one of the best in the city. The creative desserts like mochi doughnuts, banana caramel brownie (my favorite brownie ever), the egg tarts (a must if you’ve never tried), the passion fruit Masada, and so many more are the perfect way to end the meal. The service is top notch, timely, super friendly, and warm.Noodlebird deserves any and all accolades for its super-creative dishes, friendly service, intensely flavored food, etc.“

“Recommended experience! The food is fantastic, super fresh, and delicious. We tried the otoro sashimi, and it was crazy fresh and tasty.Sushi rolls and dessert were also great. The only bad thing is that they forgot about one roll, so we had to wait +20 minutes. The lady apologized, but anyhow, it was too late.“

“Clean modern place right next to Home Depot . It's not some dark worn out place . Decor is crisp !Loved that the menu is short and it is an open kitchen- you can see all the cooks. They all wore gloves and masks ! Way to go !We had spring rolls , crispy wings in peanut sauce , beef pho and spicy beef noodle . Yum yum ! They also have daily specials that I noticed only when leaving. Those specials sounded better than the regular menu .This is going to be my weekly spot !“

“Our first time here, it was last minute and we chose it based on a picture someone posted of a soup. We were pleasantly surprised to come in on a Sunday afternoon and we were provided with a table in one of their private rooms. We chose several options and when we tasted the soup, it was soo delicious. Everything was great. Can't wait to go back. We even got additional stuff to go.Kid-friendliness: The kids were offered a kiddie cocktail and they got a kick out of it.“

“Very cozy asian-style noodle spot!I ordered a beef pad thai for lunch. The food was good, but it wasn’t until I added fish sauce and chili at home where all the flavors came out and molded together! I wish I asked for the condiments in-person. The beef was more on the hard side though, I wish it was softer. The portion was bigger than I expected but was the perfect size. I would love to come back and try other noodle dishes on the menu.In terms of service, I was greeted with smiles by the hostess doubling as a server as I walked in the door. Very attentive and very kind. She knows her customers very well. The food came out quick and I was able to get a good meal in while I was in-between classes. The music was great it contributed to the ambiance. I loved the fact that I could also hear the wok sizzling in the background as they were cooking.Parking: There’s a side street that’s not paid but it’s difficult to find parking. Sheffield is paid parking.“

“The people were so friendly, very talkative..it reminded me of how Greek families of old ran their own businesses. The food is amazing in look, style presentation and taste. Alot of selections and the first time I tried the coconut ice cream with strawberries my tongue was in love. Love this place.“

“Ever since they opened we go out of our way to frequent this place. We have other Thai places within walking distance from our condo but a short drive yields better quality Thai food and wonderful service. Ambiance: The place is super clean which is a plus. If the front of the house is immaculate, I would think the kitchen is the same. The food is amazing. Tiger Cry is amazing and they give a nice size portion compared to other places. Sweet/savory marinated thin slices of beef char-grilled is wonderful. Don't hesitate on the fried shumai- Fried shrimp shu-mai, served with light sweet and sour sauce. Awesome finger food. You can't go wrong with any of the curry dishes. This last round we had the Gaeng Masaman - Masaman curry and potatoes sauteed in coconut milk with peanuts and chicken. Great flavor. So many selections but all have been great! I love the fact you can choose the level of spiciness for each dish depending on your preferences. We go full-tilt hot as hell spicy and it does not disappoint! Pricing is a bit lower than your average Thai places and portions are more generous. 3 dishes for 2 people yields leftovers! Owner is friendly and I can tell he loves what he does and is looking out for the diners. This is the place you want to make sure thrives. Go pay them a visit.“

“Everything is good. I originally went to a Korean restaurant near Wrigley Field and went here because it was my day off, and it was surprisingly good. Of course, the price is a bit expensive, right? However, they were very friendly and the food and quantity were plentiful.“

“Good food. I usually hit sushi spots, ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI. I was kind of iffy about trying a new spot for almost 30, but for the new experience I had to try. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Plenty of flavor. Crab Rangoon is good. Might actually be a new spot for me.“

“I have been on a hunt for the best Chinese spot in Chicago. I found it. I ordered the combo fried rice, Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, and hot and sour soup. It was by FAR the best Mongolian beef and Kung pao chicken I have ever had. Insanely good, like I still can't get over it. The rice was good, nothing crazy, but good. The hot and sour soup was incredible. Vinegary, and rich, but still flavorful. I love that they added a bunch of green onions, definitely enhanced the flavor. This place was so good, that I am already planning on ordering from them tomorrow. Please try this spot out. WOW, that's all I can say.“

“Hello to all who read this review. It pains my heart to leave this review. This restaurant use to be one of my favorites, but since the old owners are no longer running things I have to say that my recent visit was a waste of money. I ordered some soup and basil egg rolls and the egg rolls tasted like frozen food, the chicken inside of the rolls were very dry with no taste to it. I didn't taste the basil like I use to, I didn't finish it, I tossed it out. The soup was not like I'm accustomed to. Wasn't sour at all, wasn't spicy at all, and too many DAMN mushrooms in it!. I was furious and through all of it out. Stick a fork in me I'm done with Ben's noodles.“

“Absolutely amazing. I was blown away by the flavor. Like no other Thai food that I have experienced. Beyond 5 stars. I was spellbound. If you like Thai food, you need to give this place a try. It's a shame I don't live in Chicago, because I find myself daydreaming about it and wanting to fly across a quarter of the country JUST to eat here!“

“I came here once to try it out. We did a mix of 2 pork and 2 beef baos. The baos were a good size and they were flavorful. Meat was fresh and bun was soft. I honestly forgot what my main entree was but it was very decent. Broth was savory not watery. Meat and egg were delicious. Noodles were soft and a little chewy. Service was good. There were plenty of tables to eat. We did paid street parking. Prices were okay.“

“I work in the West Loop and Sumu has become my favorite sushi spot over the past 5+ years. This was originally the second location for Butterfly Sushi, which is still open on Grand. This location kept its sushi menu but added the ramen focus, which provides additional options - thus their new name. Food is always fresh and their service is always impeccable. Whether dining in or takeout (pickup or delivery), it is always a 5 star experience in every way. Highly recommended!“

“So far this is my favorite sushi place in Chicago. The food is phenomenal and reasonably priced. The service is fantastic as well. One small thing: every now and then I’ll get a plate with some very pretty artwork on it made from the sauce. I don’t always get it, but I really appreciate whoever is taking the time to make it!“

“New spot in the neighborhood! Restaurant’s decor is simple yet very roomy, an ideal spot for those who dislike to be enclosed or squished. It’s family owned restaurant so the atmosphere was very comfortably and quiet.Food was phenomenal, fresh and delicious! But most importantly reasonable priced. The service was friendly and fast. We had Pho and broth was rich and aromatic filled with lots of toppings. We also had Bo La Lot which was beautifully presented. Then we also had Bun Cha Ha Noi, amazing and authentic. Bun bo hue was delicious. I can say that all dishes taste great. It’s must try restaurant!“

“This place is only a few blocks away from our house. It's not a big one and it seems to be carry-out only. But they keep it clean and tidy as possible as they can. I feel so lucky that we've come crossed this hidden gem! The lady who usually takes our orders is friendly and unbelievably efficient. For our two persons' dinner order, it only takes chef to complete cooking in 15 mins and 2-3 mins top for her to pack it all ready. No matter weekday evenings or weekend rush hours, the average waiting time has never been longer than 20 mins. I highly recommend their Mongolian beef and hot and sour soup! We can't wait to try other dishes from this store.“

“Don’t let the name fool you. This place is as authentic as anything you’ll find on Argyle. They have all the usual dishes but come here to try something less common. I had the crab rangoon and liked their homemade version of this typical guilty pleasure dish. Then I had Bún Riêu which was light and flavorful. It’s attached to a Filipino grocery and seafood store, and some other Filipino and Asian food stalls, restaurants, and bakeries so there’s lots to explore and taste.“

“Got some yummy takeout from here and will definitely be back for more! Online ordering provided a lot of modifications and pictures with each item. The inside was very clean and empty. We tried the baby egg rolls, veggie egg rolls, miso soup, pad woon sen and chow mein. Everything tasted great and similar to other thai food we've had before. We also tried the butterfly lemonade and thai milk tea with tapioca boba. The butterfly lemonade was good as long as you like butterfly pea flower. The boba wasn't the best but the thai tea was yummy! Looking forward to trying something new next time.“

“Favorite place for pad thai. Discovered this gem a few years back and have been obsessed ever since. Menu favorites include the chicken pad Thai, chicken coconut curry, and rangoons. Great mom and pop option for all things thai food. They offer patio seating the warmer months which is great for lunch with friends and family. Takeout/delivery is always speedy and efficient! A Lincoln Park classic!“

“I hadn't eaten here since the revamp and rename of the place. Not sure if they're owned by new owners, but my friend and I were glad to have eaten here. It's small and could sit a small amount if folks plan to stay and eat, but lots of people order takeout. It seemed popular the night we went because there were many takeout orders. Everything was made to order, so be prepared to wait a little. The wait was well worth it! I had the panang chicken curry with rice, and my friend ordered the basil fried rice. Both were tasty and had the right amounts of flavor and spice. We also order gyoza soup and tom yum soup, which were perfect on a cold day. For drinks, I had the lemonade while my friend had the Thai iced tea. We ended dinner with mango sticky rice with a side drizzle of condense milk, and it was amazing! I highly recommend this place!“

“So this place got the best Crab Rangoon in the city and that I ever had quite frankly. It taste so good and I’m mad other restaurants don’t make it like they do! The Crab Rangoon is so good from here that I never order anything else. I tried the wings and they weren’t bad. I’m curious how the shrimp fried rice is. But I’ve always just made this place my go to spot for Crab Rangoon. No other restaurant compares to how good it is. Please try them.“

“We regularly get together with my mother-in-law on Sundays in the Uptown area and figured to branch out and see what else there was other than our usuals. Funny enough, Kimchi Pop! has already been open for two years and we've already gone to some other restaurants nearby. Maybe I wrote it off since we have a Korean standby though farther away. So we figured to give it a try for convenience. It's a counter order arrangement and you bus your own tables, but there is a self-serve choice of four banchan provided for dine-in and a hot/cold water station. Dine in is on real plates and utensils rather than disposable-ware. We went with the kimbap ($13.99, spam +$3), stone bowl bibimbap (pork) - $15.99, soondubu (seafood) $14.50, and scallion pancake (seafood) - $12.99. Food is great and it was good to have the kimbap once with spam (thinking about another form of spam musubi, which is also on the menu). Stone bowl isn't going to be as hot to crisp rice, but I'm not sure that's a full star ding - so just go with regular bibimbap for $13.99. It still would have been good with another choice of filling without the surcharge. Keep in mind there is a 4% non-cash surcharge and meter parking is relatively available (at least on a Saturday night). Portions and quality were good to balance to the price and convenience. You'd get more banchan elsewhere and maybe lower prices, but you'd probably have to drive farther and tip up for service. Nice touch with dark chocolate choco pie at the end of the meal!“

“We have eaten here twice, once dine-in and later, take-out. The delivery was faster than they promised online, and the food was hot. I can say without qualification that I have never had better Thai in three decades of trying. The flavors in each dish are vibrant and sometimes surprising ... it's an experience I expect at a Michelin starred restaurant, but from takeout. Wtf.“
