“Some of the most amazing food by a great French Chef. If I could describe my meal in one word it would be PERFECT, I could not find one things wrong. Clam Chowder had nice texture and definitely did not fall short of flavor. Octopus and scallops were so tender, soft and tasty. The special of the night was Lamb Shank....and good God was it Phenomenal. The bone pulled right out and the meat fell apart, no knife necessary. Seasoned so nicely.I also want to mention our waitress for the night, Emily, friendly, prompt stayed on top of everything and even with a FULL house had time to conversate and welcome this Maine newby. Thank you all for an amazing dinning experience I will definitely be back shortly.”

“I tried many ice cream shops in this town but the best scoop goes to this shop with Maine blueberry cobbler. The other flavors I tried were not as good as this single flavor so if you go, just get the cobbler, it's delicious. Across the street there is another fabulous place which has real Italian gelato which actually have decided is higher quality since all of their flavors are superb, but this blueberry cobbler one took my heart as the top contender flavor in Portland.”

“Of all the bakeries and coffee shops my husband and I tried on our trip to Portland, Tamdem was our favorite! The Americano was delicious and the salted coconut maple scone was one of the best I've ever had with the perfect crunchy texture on the outside and soft inside. I also tried the blood orange scone, which tasted a bit pithy to me. There was a line at 11:00 on a Saturday, but it moved quickly and there was plenty of seating outside.”

“We sat at the chef's bar to watch the kitchen action and opted to pick out 4 vegetarian options from the menu. The portions were generous for 2 people. If you are a big eater and like to take home leftovers, you can choose the Chef's tasting menu, because it is difficult to choose from all the menu options. Each dish was so tasty, with layers of robust flavor & texture. The food is very rich and while we couldn't eat like this every day, we thoroughly enjoyed every option we chose. Simple but creative dishes. We also savored an absolutely decadent chocolate dessert, craft beer & an alcohol free cocktail. The music was a great addition to the overall vibe, and the restaurant set up is unique and bar-style downstairs. I'm glad we close to sit on the ground floor and watch the action. There is also an option to sit at a table upstairs in the mezzanine. We plan to return to try other menu options. A unique dining experience. Very nice, attentive staff.”

“This place is an absolute must go to restaurant in Portland. The atmosphere is very cozy, at least in the space and the lighting, but super hip. They play lots of dancey, fun music, which wasn’t deafening or obnoxious but just added to the great vibe.They have lots of great options, all smaller plates which makes it so much fun to share with whoever you’re with. We got the garlic edamame, bacon mochi, the cabbage pancake (I forget the official name, forgive me), and the udon. Every bite was perfect, and the service was awesome.We sat at the bar, and the bartender was super attentive despite being busy. The cocktail menu is also fantastic! Definitely worth trying at *least* one.”

“Really super delicious! My husband is from the middle east and this meal was homey and amazing to celebrate his birthday. We are definitely hard critics when it comes to middle eastern food and this exceeded our expectations. Perfect balance of flavors not too overpowering spices but not bland by any means. Probably our new favorite spot for pita pockets and will definitely be back often. Also a great price point and a good amount of food. Cant say enough good things! “Definitely should have looked at the menu before entering. However, felt obligated to stay once we realized how many employees were standing and staring at us as soon as we walked in. No shortage of attention. The bartender was friendly and attentive, but no cocktails struck our fancy. Other than chartreuse.Oysters and cod cheek were tasty.Atmosphere wasn’t as expected for a tavern, but I could see this being an amazing stop.”

“Quick update: I highly recommend Miyake as a place to stop in for lunch, too! It's a quieter vibe than dinner, so perfect for grabbing a seat at the sushi bar. There are bento box lunch specials and chef's choice sushi and sashimi, or you can order rolls from the lunch menu; I had a wonderful red snapper ceviche roll and of course, their wonderful miso soup!”

“This is a great up and coming restaurant in Portland. They have a few minor details to work on, but overall a very good experience. The wait staff is clearly working on Michelin style service techniques including uniform plate setting at tables, napkin etiquette, and plate presentation. Our waiter was overall good, but a bit cold and stand-offish. The menu has some great local ingredients, but it seems like they are trying too hard to get the buzz words in the menu. For example I enjoyed the Cauliflower Gratin and the menu description included local uni and lobster. The flavors of the cauliflower and the sauce were strong and really overwhelmed the delicate flavor of local uni to the point that the uni just took a back seat. The dry aged duck was wonderful and the aging process truly brought a unique texture and moistness to the duck. I also sampled the Atlantic cod dish which had a delicious broth, but was served with charred union which just did not match the delicate flavors of the broth. Overall a very good experience and worth a visit. I expect they will only get better with time.”

“My Fiance and I came here for my birthday dinner and we were very impressed. We started off with the Meatballs and the Sourdough bread didnt lack in flavor and got us more excited for our entrees. Our server Rich was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We ordered the gnocchi and bolognese both were amazing the flavor combinations meshed and had our taste buds bouncing. We ordered the panna cotta, tiramisu, and another dessert with waffle cones and espresso and all 3 were spectacular!”

“Amazing experience. We called to make reservations the day of and they were fully booked but told us we could try as a walk-in so we did. We were very lucky they had three seats available at the bar when we showed up at 7:30pm. The bartender was very friendly and really made sure we had everything we needed. We started with a special for our appetizer, a cod fish mashed potato spread and it was DELICIOUS! My daughter has the seared tuna and she loved it. My husband had the linguini and clams and it was very flavorful. The portions were also pretty generous. My swordfish was also cooked to perfection. We would definitely return. The bar is in a big open lounge area so it was a nice setup. And everyone was very friendly.”

“Duckfat has always and will always knock it out of the park. It's out top place to visit when we're in Portland. For first timers...the restaurant is very small with communal tables so it is very likely that as a small group you will be seated with others. The outdoor dining was available and we had the perfect day for it. The fries are the obvious choice here, but spring for the poutine with a duck egg on top. You won't regret it. I'm a sucker for a Cuban on any menu but THIS one is literally the best I've ever had and that was even without the pickles (I have an allergy ?). Worth noting that instead of the typical ham in the sandwich, they exchanged it for soppresatta. While that's not a typical go to for me, I trust in anything they make and it went together SO well. I can't wait to make it back already and it's only been a week.Parking: There is a very small lot for the building if you're lucky to find a spot. We got there within 30 mins of opening and a few were still open. There is also street parking and a couple nearby garages. Portland is a great walking city anyways so find any lot in/near Old Port and you can pretty much walk everywhere you want to go.”

“The customer service was amazing and very helpful, and the food was decent, I tried the highland burger and fries and it was pretty good but the caramelized onions seemed a little under cooked and the fries had an interesting seasoning on them which wasn't too bad. Over all our table was full and satisfied at the end of the meal and the popcorn chicken was really good!”

“My wife and I are regular visitors to Portland and this is one of our must stops. The staff is very friendly and the environment is warm and inviting. The coffee is one of the better ones you will find. We have had different breakfast sandwiches and they all have been tasty. The pastries are well baked and have good flavors. This was probably the most tasty burger I’ve ever had, with the bacon, jam and truffle Ketchup, my sister and I who both ordered it looked at each other after our first bite like “wow!”. I got a few other sides and unfortunately wasn’t impressed with the french fries, but the chili and cornbread were to die for. The mac & cheese is also good but if I went back, I would definitely go back for the burger and the chili and cornbread. Staff was very nice and accommodating of our big party. I’ll be back!”

“The bad reviews posted by other people had me worried, but I had a pretty decent breakfast (and no problems) at 8:30 AM on a Wednesday.In the mornings, they just have one employee working (I assume she's the manager) and she is both your cashier and your cook. She did a good job on my breakfast, and I enjoyed it.Later in the day, a second employee comes in to help with lunch rush time.”

“I went the morning after power across the city went out because nothing in south Portland was open (not even the traffic lights worked!) It was extremely crowded and they were out of some of the food. There are probably about 18 stools and 2 tables and every one was taken.My drip coffee was tasty, but almost $4. They have a lot of charging ports and coat/purse hangers under the counter which rocks! Employees were friendly, it was clean, there's a little shop in the back but I didn't explore. Cute place”

“After several false starts, I finally got to try the Miss Portland Diner, and it was worth the wait. I had a basic staple - the bacon cheeseburger with fries. It was cooked to perfection and I devoured it fast. I also learned that a downeast Reuben sandwich is an open faced sandwich, which was much to the chagrin of my dining partner. Service was decent and vibe had a cool old skool diner feel to it. I will be going back and trying more food. I will adjust this review accordingly.”

“We recently stayed at a So. Burlington hotel and ordered a Za from Leonardo's and had it delivered. The folks on the telephone were accommodating; the delivery driver was friendly and poilite; and all 4 of us were impressed with the pizza.”

The owners are a husband and wife team that work 24 seven and put out amazing food and the customer service is excellent. I am not looking forward to the day they retire. “Really good brisket. It compares to Franklins, Snows, and Goldee's. Id pass on all the sauces but good brisket doesn't need a sauce. You can get point or flat depending on your preference. I had the absolute best Irish Benedict of my life here. Homemade hash and it must have been homemade hollandaise sauce as well.The service was fast and friendly. I sat at the counter and met some wonderful visitors here.You will often have to wait for a table but I assure you, it is worth the wait.”

He was Very attentive as well as knowledgeable on the drink and dinner menu.The focaccia bread was a great starter as I had saw other reviews said to try it out.My girlfriend got the swordfish with risotto which was cooked perfectly which is hard to do. I got the hanger steak medium rare and that was cooked perfectly as well.I don’t drink so I got an athletic brew and my girlfriend got a cosmo and she said it was delicious.We got the cannoli at the end for dessert and it was so yummy! With an added birthday candle!We would definitely come back if we come back to Portland. Thank you for a great birthday dinner!”

The orange beef was so crispy, perfectly sauced and tender. But the superstar of the night was THE GREEN BEANS. You can taste the breath of the wok on the beans. “I tried many ice cream shops in this town but the best scoop goes to this shop with Maine blueberry cobbler. The other flavors I tried were not as good as this single flavor so if you go, just get the cobbler, it's delicious. Across the street there is another fabulous place which has real Italian gelato which actually have decided is higher quality since all of their flavors are superb, but this blueberry cobbler one took my heart as the top contender flavor in Portland.”
