“I have never had such an attentive and friendly staff, everyone was so nice and helpful! Everyone worked as a team to give all guests a pleasant experience. I came from out of state to try this place out, and I am so glad I did! Will be a future customer and have already told friends and family about this restaurant!Parking: Plenty of parking and easily accessible.“
“This establishment exceeded our expectations by far!! The food was absolutely amazing and the service was beyond my wildest dreams! These people cater to every detail especially our waitress Bottie. We had a birthday celebration with about 20 guest. Everything ran smooth and the vibes were amazing! I can’t wait to come back! Do not hesitate to make a reservation or grab one of their specialty drinks from the bar!“
“Great place for nachos ?. We finally took the time to stop in and give Gym Tacos ? a try. We were very glad we did. The food was wonderful. We ordered our jalapeno's on the side because you never know how spicy they are. We were glad we did even though they weren't very spicy. Awesome place for street tacos or a boat load of nachos.“
“Absolutely phenomenal! Tonight was our first time trying Torchy's and it will definitely not be the last. Awesome vegetarian options that packed a ton of flavor. Mike and the entire team were so patient with us as we asked questions and had a sincere interest in ensuring that we were happy with everything. thank you all for an outstanding experience.“
“Came out to a local brewery today, but what drew me here was the food truck. I get to enjoy the beautiful weather outside sitting on picnic benches. The food is always fresh and delicious. We had the pork quesadilla and the BBQ nachos with brisket. The nachos were great. Really flavorful with plenty of meat and cheese. The quesadilla was huge and well worth the money. The service is always great. They are friendly and help you with making choices if you are unsure of what to get. My recommendation: get the brisket on anything. And get the churros and cheesecake flautas.“
“Large downtown Raleigh restaurant. Great food, excellent service. We had Chile relleno and shrimp tacos. Excellent. Salsa and chips good too! I lived in Texas for over a decade--so I'm pretty opinionated about Mexican food. Good food and reasonable prices.“
“Franklin was the best server I’ve had since the early 2000’s. Franklin had great dish recommendations, which led me to eating the best plate I’ve ever had. The green chilaquiles were better than my motha’s cooking. Don’t even get me started on the world class margs they had. Needless to say…. I’ll be heading over for brunch most weekends. Thank you Franklin for making our experience better than the Red Sox winning the 2004 World Series.“
“We love Salt and Lime! Great costumer service and fun atmosphere. And the food is amazing!!! We probably get takeout there a few times a month. It's one of the few places my family agrees on. And they even catered for a Teacher luncheon at my child's school. So easy to work with and the food was delicious. And all the teachers who had food allergies or different food preferences could eat Salt and Limes food. We had some very happy teachers that asked for Salt and Lime to come back again. Highly recommend for going here for dinner or having events catered.“
“It was a cold and windy Sunday afternoon. We were looking for a quick breakfast and had this spot saved in our places to go in Raleigh list.It is a food truck located in the parking lot of a Valero gas station. Upon arrival I parked near the gas station and waited in line for about 5-10 minutes. From there took 20 minutes to get my order. So definitely plan to wait about 30-35 minutes. But it was totally worth it. The bacon burrito is bangin. They also have a good selection of sauces as well.I didn’t try the coffee, but they did have a good selection.Would go back for sure“
“Gonza continues to be the best Mexican restaurant in Raleigh. The owner, Gonza Salamanca, visits every table to make sure you are satisfied with your total dining experience. This restaurant is consistent in every aspect...servers, food quality, presentation, beverages and deserts. It is family-friendly and a neighborhood treasure.“
“First time here, and I enjoyed it! My burrito, chips, and the salsa bar were all great. I loved the variety of music playing inside including some reggae. The patio is pet friendly, which I appreciate. The employees were friendly. We will be back!“
“One of the better of many Tex-Mex restaurants in the Raleigh area. Service was excellent, meaning that the wait staff take your orders accurately and deliver food and drink quickly. The food is tasty and the portions are generous. I wish there were a few more choices on the menu. My wife and I plan on going back.“
“Just tried this truck for the first time, the pollo and pastor tacos, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be craving these for months! The tortillas were ridiculously fresh and the meat cooked to perfection. Topped with cilantro and onion, they were even better than I hoped they'd be! Can't wait to go back and try some of the other options!“
“Great Mexican food. Self service. Parking available. We had soft chicken tacos, quesadillas and a burrito. The burrito is more appropriate to our taste bud as an Asian. The rest was okay, not great. We tried their flan which was a bit disappointing. However, they are a very busy place. A lot of Mexican people eat there. Worth giving a shot.“
“Wow, The place is clean and tidy, the menu is big but not overwhelming. Drink specials every day of the week. The service is amazing, warm greeting and welcoming vibe . Now the nitty gritty, condiments and sauces are refrigerated which is a green flag. It shows they keep the bottles clean and organized. The food is amazing, you should add this to your weekly lunch spot. It is a must try!“
“My go to Food truck! And the Carne Asada Plate is amazing! It comes with Carne Asada, piece of sausage, rice, pico de gallo, slice of avocado, and a pack of fresh tortillas!Always good quality food! Owner and Employees are the friendliest people you could ever meet. I've been going to them for about 2 years or so. I use to go for my lunch breaks but cannot do so anymore because my office moved, I now stop by for dinner sometimes or go pick up food on the weekends, that alone should tell you that the food is worth the drive to try out!Don't forget the Horchata and fresh Lemonade!Parking: It shares a parking lot with a Motel, usually a good decent amount of parking spots“
“Now this spot looks bigger than it does If you're looking at it from the outside so just keep that in mind. They have a full bar in the back, the bar is predominantly tequila so just keep that in mind as well! I got a bunch of stuff, and everything I had was pretty good! You have to go and order your food and then wait till it gets ready and they'll call you up. They have a buzzer situation so just be aware that you probably should not go too far if you're waiting for food. Birria tacos - They were really good and they came with everything you needed to make it great. You could go up to the little bar that had cilantro and onions and all sorts of sauces to help doctor it up if you needed it to be doctored up. But these had a really good flavor and were super juicy even before you dipped them. Chips and queso - The chips were okay, they were chips lol. But the queso what's good. Nothing to complain about. The queso was pretty good. Chicken and Steak taco - So just because, I got a couple of tacos as well. The tacos are actually pretty decent honestly. The steak was a little bit more chewy and I would have liked it to be, but it still had a good flavor to it. The chicken was good as well. The chicken needed a little bit of sauce to it which was why the sauce ball is really useful! You got a lot of food and you get bang for your buck here So I could definitely see myself coming back.“
“We went here for dinner on a Monday night and it was quite busy! There was a wait time of around 15 minutes. Once we were seated, our order was taken quickly, and our food came out even quicker! I ordered the Fire-Roasted Chile Relleno and it was delicious. The portion size was perfect. My only complaint is that there are not many vegan dishes. There are plenty of vegetarian eats though. Overall, would definitely come here again!“
“We hired El Rey del Taco for our wedding rehearsal dinner and they were amazing!! The tacos were delicious and all our guests loved them! We had them come to our venue and it made the rehearsal dinner run smoothly so we could all stay in one place. Jorge and Maria were easy to work with and the staff was all very friendly! We highly recommend them!!“
“This truck is the best bang for your buck compared to other Birria vendors. Consommé not included but the tacos are juicy enough without them. Quesadillas + Sour Cream were also an amazing choice for those looking to try something different. Will keep coming here for as long as they’re here “
“I visited here while traveling for work and I ordered the Carne Asada - it was delicious and the portion size was fantastic! I loved the food and couldn't even finish it was so much and so great for the price. I will be coming back again and again because not only was the food outstanding, but also the customer service I received here was the best I've had at any restaurant. I called the restaurant because I forgot to get my receipt and I needed it for my expense report and the staff were so kind to me, they remembered me and sent me a picture of the receipt. It was so kind of them and I wanted to say MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS ? I really appreciate it“
“Took my daughter on a daddy daughter date. The service was good and the servers were very friendly. My daughter says the beans are next level good.Parking: Was very easy to find a spot great locationKid-friendliness: Servers were very kind and inclusive to my daughter. She placed her own order.“
We highly recommend them!!“
“One of the few places that serve chilaquiles in the area. Choice of sauces with it too! Great service with really good variety of dishes. Tamales on Sundays. Will definitely be back to try the fried fish options. Nothing fancy with the decor but you’ll enjoy the food!“
“Pretty nice place . Been wanting to try Birria Ramen forever . It was very good but was expecting a little for flavor from the meat . Good portion size also . Also tried a single Birria taco as well , also pretty good . Glad to have found a place like this will “
“I snuck away with my niece in law and her boyfriend to get away from thanksgiving food on Black Friday lol. We came just in time for the lunch special (Good prices too!) we were the second party there and quickly seated and served. I order a horchata and my niece got a margarita flight. Both were very good and sweet! My meal was also great the chicken had onions, cheese and garlic on top. The garlic to me might have been too much but still tasty.“
“This food truck is my usual spot for breakfast after work. But after seeing what I saw today with the new person, Am not sure if I will becoming anymore. After taking a persons order and grabbing his credit card , and swiping it , She didn’t wash her hands no gloves on , She grabes my food and put the avocado on it and grabbed the tortillas bare hand. With Covid going on and it not being sanitary alone , It makes me Worried the possible germs or .... she could be spreading.“
“Absolutely delicious food! Best chicharron tacos I’ve ever had. Even the chicken is amazing; never bland or dry, always juicy and full of flavor. Their aguas are wonderful too. Definitely recommend a visit; there’s a lot of great taco trucks out there but Tacos Abarca is my favorite by far!“
“LOVE this place. Great food, great vibes, love the renovation. Staff are all super attentive and nice. This slice of cake was HEAVEN. Order the cake. Ask for the cake. It's like a moist cake with a fluffy custard & would come back just for the cake.“
“The food here is always delicious, the atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are wonderful. They know our daughter by name and are always excited to greet her. I can't recommend this place highly enough if you want a quick and easy Mexican lunch or dinner 10/10 every time“
“Went with some friends. Everyone enjoyed their food. Beans and rice were pretty meh but everything else was great. Have never seen tacos like that before. The shell was so hard (looked to be a folded and fried tortilla) it broke off my permanent retainer.Would definitely recommend for good food on the cheaper side.“
“Unique place, don’t expect authenticity, good food (Picture is after I messed with the burrito and took a bite of the plantain). Got to taste Mexican flag, shrimp tacos, veggie burrito, platanos and coconut flan. All main dishes were tasty but would not recommend the coconut flan. Also the salsa for the appetizer is really good.Vegetarian options: Not many items on menu as vegetarian dishes. I just had to ask to hold the meat, food still tasted very good.“
“This place is really great. We normally do takeout - the sandwiches (torta), quesadilla plate, and tostada's are wonderful. Portion size/value is great and I always receive kind service. Salsas that come with your meal taste so fresh. We have not had a bad experience with Chilango :)Vegetarian options: Menu specifically shares which items have no meat for convenience.“
“This was a fantastic find. A Mexican Seafood restaurant was unexpected. The service was amazing and the food was completely fresh. We met one of the owners, and he was delightful. They even had a robot waiter, and we were personally serenaded. We were given the words to the song and given an opportunity to sing with him. This was so much fun and it was all on a Thursday night. I definitely recommend it!“
“Salsa Fresh serves some of the best Mexican food money can buy, regardless of price. The flavours jump, dance and sing off the plate into your mouth. And the value is off the charts! Burrito, taco and quesadilla meals (which include tortilla chips and a visit to the salsa bar) are about $8. The portion sizes are excellent. If your bank account is a bit low, ask for a cup of water and save some cash.Good selection of vegetarian dishes, and plenty of meat based dishes. However, be aware this is a very casual restaurant - order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The staff are very nice and helpful. If I could eat here everyday I would :-)“
“My recent visit to Jose and Son Mexican Restaurant in Raleigh left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, Tontesa, our waitress, showered us with exceptional service, especially considering our large family, predominantly comprised of kids. One of the standout features of our dining experience was the generous portion sizes of the food. Whether it was the sizzling fajitas or the mouthwatering enchiladas, every dish exceeded expectations in both flavor and quantity. Jose and Son certainly understand the importance of satisfying their patrons' appetites!Tontesa's attentive and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our time there. Her ability to manage our bustling group with grace and efficiency was truly commendable. As we left, already planning our next visit to Raleigh, we couldn't help but reflect on the delightful experience we had at Jose and Son Mexican Restaurant. With its warm atmosphere, delicious food, and outstanding service, it's a place we eagerly anticipate returning to. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine in a family-friendly setting.“
“The wait here was kind of long. I had about 5 people ahead of me. The regular tacos were okay. It wasn't something that I hated or loved. Now, the taco birria was straight up fire.Since I started writing this review ( a month and a half ago), I have been here 4 times. The 3rd time the tacos were kind of slightly off.Taco shells didn't taste too fresh?!But didn't stop me from coming back again ! The last time was back to the normal yummy goodness.“
“Just ordered lunch today for the first time for the family. I got the #5, wife ordered #2 fajita and we got a chicken quesadilla for the kid. Everything was amazing! Very large portions and enough for a couple meals each. Will be frequenting this place more often.“
“We meet friends downtown and checked this place out based on a social media post. Wife & friend ordered chips & guacamole. The guac comes in three styles which they really enjoyed. Everyone's entree were delicious. All of our food & drinks didn't disappoint. The staff is energetic, which definitely added to the experience. The place is narrow but does have outdoor tables. Just mentioning it so plan accordingly.Parking: It has a paid parking garage next door. There is a free city garage after hours/weekend across the street.“
“The food was once again over the top. Shrimp was grilled to perfection, only place I know in the Raleigh area to get a real chile reileno. Margaritas are all in-house crafted. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat. The menu is HUGE. Our server was adorable! Can’t go wrong here!“
“Had their shrimp tacos at the Tacos and Taps Festival and they were amazing! Loved the “really hot” sauce they have too. Friendly service and the tacos were on point. Looked them up online so I could find out where they are located and go for more.“
“Would love to give them 5 stars but, after paying $8 for so little rice I was disappointed. I only wanted rice and beans to go with some food i already had at home. Once I got home I opened the container and was a little disappointed with the amount of rice and beans provided. Granted that’s all I ordered but they could of added more rice to the platter“
“I've gone by this place 100 times and never stopped until now. I'm glad I did. This is the best Mexican restaurant I've been to in this area. The salsa that they give you with your chips is the best I've ever had. Portions were big and the food was hot. Service was great.“
“The best tatting pupusas I have ever tried even better than las Maria’s! Ot thing is the Curtido is not the best. It’s very dry and every time I go it’s stale. But I can put that aside for the pupusas because they are genuinely so good! The flavor us there and they actually out food inside the pupusa!“
“My wife and I have been coming here for a while, usually most Sundays after church. The food here is amazing, the atmosphere is very friendly with fast service, and we are always treated very well by the friendly people who work here. I tried the fish tacos for the first time ever today, and they were excellent. The burritos which I have eaten before are stellar as well, and the refried beans are very good. The salsa and cheese dip that is available with the complimentary nachos are very good, and not too spicy at all and the rice, tamales and enchiladas are very good too. I am thankful for such a delicious meal after church, and can't wait for more ahead.“
“I loved this ice cream shop.. believe me, it's a hidden gem for Desserts. It's a South American ( if I am not wrong, Venezuela) ice cream shop. All the ice cream flavors were quite creative \\u0026 different from regular ice cream shops. They have lots of options for Ice Cream Bar as well. Staff was very courteous \\u0026 gave us samples of lots of flavors with a smile. This is a must visit place.“
“There are two similar food trucks located at this location (Valero gas station on Glenwood avenue) this is one of them, I ordered a steak burrito that day. I also ordered a steak burrito from the second truck to compare the two. That's a separate review. As for the Taco Place the burrito was tasty, cheesy and the steak was good with minor chewy pieces otherwise overall a satisfying and tasty experience. Right balance of rice, beans and cheese. Can't beat the price at $7, it was six dollars just last week! There are some picnic benches for you to sit and eat otherwise you're at a gas station so atmosphere is pretty ho-hum. I would definitely recommend this place and try their full array of food options, see photos for details.“
“I've been to El Dorado twice in the past few weeks & I would highly recommend it!! Both times, I was greeted with a friendly welcome and immediately seated. It was fairly busy, but the tables were clean--the whole restaurant appeared to be very clean and the atmosphere was relaxed & pleasant. My server was Leticia--the first time was by chance & on my second visit, I asked to be seated in her section. Leticia was so kind, patient, & helpful; she made me feel welcome & didn't rush me to place my orders. She checked back on me often enough, but not so much as to interrupt my meal. Additionally, she was very proactive--always bringing napkins or a drink refill before I had to ask her. I had the complimentary chips & salsa, chicken enchiladas, and beef tamales. Everything was excellent and you certainly can't beat their prices. I was amazed that I could get such delicious meals for such a reasonable price! If you haven't been to El Dorado, yet, and you're a fan of authentic Mexican food, you've got to try this place!!“
“Right when you walk inside this place makes an impression! It looks like Arizona dering Día de los Muertos, it feels like a dead man's party. The regular salsa is refreshing and I can never stop dipping in it. The food is so good, like the arroz con pollo, which is just like half a seasoned chicken instead of dry white meat. The enchiladas de puebla are also great. My favorite by far is the carnitas, you can't find anything like it on this side of the country. The pork is braised in beer and is just magical. And yes there is a train, and yes everyone loves it. The wait can be very very long on the weekends, but the staff are always very friendly so I never mind too much. It's not too expensive so I think it's honestly the best restaurant in Raleigh for families! They also help promote small business sometimes, like they used to sell really good chocolate for this Columbine guy. Anyway, this place is good and you must go or ELSE! Last thing, I think the restaurant has changed hands because it has gotten way better in the last couple years.Parking: The parking is actually pretty iffy. It gets packed to the point of no spots, but you can just go park in the shopping center.Kid-friendliness: There is a bar but it's mostly split from the tables. Side note, the tortillas are really good ?“
