“I have been around a lot, lots of places in the US and around the world, even Tokyo, and let me tell you, this place got to have the best ramen in the US, its taste and consistency are very close to the ones i tried in Japan, you will be delighted and satisfied. I live in DC and every time I go back to Jersey, I always bring myself back to this amazing ramen place. Also their rolls are great! I still gotta try their sushi :) Overall 5 stars ⭐️“

“Ana and Lou were exceptional in their service. They accommodated us with everything we need walked us through both menus what to get put the proper television shows on for us while we had to wait two hours before taking off to Scotland. Also, the sushi was an excellent grade sushi, I was very surprised, being a sushi connoisseur.“

“I just came here on a whim kind of. I was browsing Google maps and came across it. I don’t understand the low rating but I loved the food. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen with a Strawberry Milk Tea. Honestly really enjoyed my meal and tea. Will definitely come back again if I’m in the area.“

“I used to live in the area ; was up visiting family and I stumbled on this place by way of an IG reel so I figured I would give it a try because (a)-it was the Friday that NJ experienced a 4.8 earthquake and I most certainly didn't think I was in the right headspace to do any cooking and (b)-this place was literally 1 mile away from my mother's house so I figured I'd pay the extra overhead and have it delivered because it was so close.Let's get the con out of the way; despite me putting my address in and stating where I lived the food was never delivered. I received prompt notifications on my phone about it being almost ready & that it was on its way..but I literally was standing in front of the single family residence and received a text that my food was delivered but it wasn't. Not the best first impression..When I called the establishment Chelf Salty communicated his dismay and stated he would remake my order for in person pick-up; I appreciated his effort to make this right so I agreed.I'm glad I did.I ordered the spicy miso ramen, the tori katsu ramen, and the stamina ramen (was sharing with mom).The spicy miso ramen has a nice kick, the ramen noodles have a good chew and the pork confit was silky. Katsu ramen and stamina ramen though brothless had great balance of flavor between the amazingly dressed noodles (again nice kick in heat/flavor that wasn't blindingly spicy), perfect jammy eggs and the the chicken katsu was DIVINE..perfectly crisp..juicy..and again..great balance of flavor in the chicken.If you don't feel like getting in your car to drive to a ramen place and just want to tuck into some yummy ramen at home do give this place a try..I'm glad I did. Is it the best ramen I have ever had in my life? No..but I think it holds its own with the other ramen places in Essex county and again..I think it's a great option for the peeps that live in Nutley/Belleville area that just want to tuck into some good comfort food that isn't pizza or mexican-give it a shot!“

“small ramen with big flavors. I enjoyed everything from the chill atmosphere to amazing food. the blend of Peruvian cuisine with traditional Japanese dishes is a match made in foodie heaven. I had the double fried wings and sloppy joe bao bun for a starter and each dish was better than the last. the wings were super crispy yet tender inside and the sloppy joe bao buns were a trip down memory lane. the sloppy brought me back to my childhood eating at a friend's house. for my ramen I had the tonkatu. their pork broth was hearty and tasteful and reminded me of my first bowl of real ramen. I highly recommend going there and finding out on your own...“

“I enjoyed the spicy tan tan ramen, and all I can say is wow. I feel lucky to have tried it. The flavor was something familiar and something I look for often when I eat out. It was better than I expected. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys spicy, but not overbearing flavors“

“Let me start with the constructive feedback- and if you are still reading based on the scoring- you clearly want to try this place. -Wish there was a more accessible entry- not stroller friendly. -Wish some of their dishes came with sauce to dip in since a lot of it is finger friendly. -Wish their menu didnt label all the seafood items as vegetarian. Now the good, because a little bit of lifting and asking can help with the above! Service was amazing. Our server was super informative and guided us on our culinary excursion. Szechuan Ravioli- spicy vinaigrette so may be a little on the sour side for some, nice crisp on the outside Fried Rice- serviceable, not much to it Impossible Duck Bun - vegetarian, nice flavor profile and a good bite Vegetable Bowl - lots of veggies and a choice of noodles or rice. Get the noodles. Shanghai Wontons- we ordered this last but we should have done this first... and in multiples. My fav dish because I am a sucker for spicy peanut sauce. Spicy Vegetable Bun- also a great bun, cant go wrong with any of them really. Nice sauté on the vegetables and great flavor. If you made it this far....go! Get those shanghai wontons to start and see where your journey takes you!“

“This restaurant establishment is great addition to the community! Our family went there for a dine-in around January. We were given seats and menus. The atmosphere was really unique with anime painting around. We ordered the chicken karage as an appetizer for my son, one Tonkotsu Ramen, one Chicken cutlet with curry on rice, and chicken teriyaki with rice. The food tasted well -seasoned, flavorful, and great portions! The service was very attentive. There is only one waiter waiting on the table but he got the job done. Overall, I am happy with this nearby ramen food.Update: I ordered over the phone for a pick-up for a ramen. The food came perfectly packaged. The food tasted fresh and the chicken katsu was perfectly cooked.“

“The ribeye yakitori was pretty good, tender and a good amount of sauce to pair it quite well. The chicken skin yakitori was very crispy and delicious, with just a tad too much sauce which made some pieces overly salty, but no biggie. The salmon tartar was just okay, with the yuzu sauce being very sour. I think if the amount of avocado being increased a bit, it would have helped equalize its sourness with the creaminess of the avocado. The three rolls lunch special is very fresh and had more ingredients than rice, just like the special dancing lobster roll which had so much lobster (as evident in the pictures)! The rock shrimp lunch bento was also just mediocre, potentially due to it being overly battered and pieces were combined together. Overall, we really loved the freshness and generosity of the fishes in their normal and special sushi rolls! The restaurant also looks very pretty with beautiful floral decorations and is incredibly spacious and clean. The staff were all very friendly and quick with their service, with pretty plates and utensils. “I love this place. They always have great and fresh food. My favorite has to be the vegetable ramen. It’s so delicious, their chicken wings are flavorful and guns texture is pretty good. I love their bubble tea as well. I order through Uber eats majority of the time, I wonder if I can directly order from this restaurant though. I think I’ll find that out. Today I ordered the matcha green tea bubble tea, usually I order the mango milk bubble tea. They must remember because Uber gave me a complimentary mango bubble tea. This place is highly recommended by me. 10 stars“

“I came here for the first time last night. I’ve been to the other restaurants with the same name I have to say I think the atmosphere here is better it’s bigger and it’s just more comfortable. The waitress was nice and speak much English but she knew what I wanted. I ordered the combo with ramen soup & teriyaki chicken. It came with white rice.. I was very hungry so I ate everything. I love the broth of the soup. It’s very delicious. It was cold last night so this really hit the spot. They have plenty of parking and Plenty of seats. I highly recommend this restaurant for Ramen..Parking: there are a lot of parking spots. No problem to get a spot here.“

“I’ve been coming to Ani Ramens for years. It is my favorite place to get ramen. The staff is always great and the ramen is spot on. Each location does things a little differently and Maplewood is my preferred location based on my on personal taste preferences. I always get the vegan ramen it is delicious. The edamame and cucumber appetizers are delicious as well and I recently tried the crispy tofu buns and am now a fan!“

“Been a few times now to eat in and grab take out. The people are always friendly and helpful in both scenarios. We've gotten a couple different ramen bowls and poke/burritos. Food is always tasty and generously portioned. Only minor complaint I've ever had is that the eggs in the ramen could be a little less cooked for me but otherwise everything else has been great.“

Scrolling the reviews for Pora and you'll see, "Thee worst ramen I've ever had. so bland and flavorless," mighty close to, "Possibly the best mall foodcourt ramen I've ever had!!" (I'm not sure if that extra "e" for The/Thee in the former has more 'weight' to it than the extra exclamation points in the latter.) What I can bring to the discussion... the Mrs. absolutely loves ramen and she loves this place. If we're bound for this mall and looking for grub? It'll always be ramen and she'll scoff if you dare to use any utensil besides chopsticks. As for a simple guy that doesn't really know much about ramen? Two visits spaced a year or so apart. Both times getting their vegetarian option. Flavor... first time was 'hmmm, okay' (too much corn, a bit boring), second time was 'oohhhh damn!' (less corn, and it packed a punch from the first slurp to the very last). What was annoying was that their web site was down and Google said they open at 11:30am but it was posted that lunch starts at noon on their door. It appeared that it opened at 11:30am so I waited outside for 20 minutes for no reason. I ordered the No. 3 Chef's Special. I was talked into adding ajitamaa. Who am I to argue with the experts. I enjoyed my meal in the dark while using chopsticks with limited experience and listening to upbeat music not in English. I also received a complimentary side of Japanese Cucumber. “This is my second time at Menya (Jersey City). Both times I had the Chicken Teriyaki Don. It is really good, I did notice the second time my dish had a lot more onions in it (didn’t even notice the onions the first time). Consistency can be an issue but nonetheless the food was delicious. The service is a little so so, as you order and have to go pick up your food once your number is called. The restaurant is very spacious and well kept. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area.“
