“Let me tell you I had a wonderful experience here! My brother and I walked literally all of hoboken to get here and it was so worth it! I had my tiny maltese with me and they were so accommodating! The owners were so friendly and kind to us even letting us sit inside once it started raining a bit. Not too far inside just like away from the rain and we all had such nice conversations ?They made us feel so welcome and really made sure we had everything we needed!I think the gentleman's name was George or Jorge who took care of us he was so nice I hope they give him a raise he even recommended some local ice cream! So friendly and helpful and just such a nice guy I love how kind he was to us man there isn't good service these days it's nice to have people be nice and just talk to us!Now the food was absolutely delicious ? we had the ramen and it was so amazing the pork had a smokey taste to it and it is so much food my brother couldn't finish his and I forced myself to finish it and I was full all day my belly was huge! 10/10 best ramen I've ever had I cant wait to go back ? I feel like I've found my little spot. I can't wait to try other items on the menu but honestly just the vibe was so friendly and nice it was enough to get me out the house and worth the walk from the lightrail!“

“The Smoked Pork Ramen was one of the best ramen I have ever had. The soup was strong in umami and smokiness and that alone made it a stand out dish. “I've heard a lot of good things about ichiran and it's definitely a great solo dining spot! I came here on a Sunday around 5:30pm and there was no line. You order outside and get the food with your receipt once you're seated. Each person gets a little booth. You're quite close to the person next to you so it wasn't as private as I thought it'd be, but still pretty cool! There's only one ramen on the menu (the tonkatsu ramen), but you can customize it with different toppings and flavors. I went with recommended everything and added a soft boiled egg. The soup was pretty flavorful but a bit too salty for me. I was also a bit disappointed that there were only two small pieces of meat. I did really like the texture of the noodles and the egg. I'd say the ramen is on the pricier side ($27 with the egg) even with the no tipping policy.“

“Mmm, so good. We were staying at the nearby Park Central Hotel and looking for a decent restaurant within a quick walk. This one cropped up with good reviews, so we figured we'd try it. Best meal of our week-long NYC trip! I got the Curry Ramen, which was fantastic, with perfectly crispy pork katsu and nicely springy ramen noodles. My wife and daughter also enjoyed their selections. I think one was the Kin Ramen (which I also got to finish, since it was too big for my daughter -- the chashu pork was excellent!The place has a hip and cozy atmosphere. “My favorite ramen joint in New York! Go here on a jazz night if you can, because the ambience with the artists is even more incredible. This is my 3rd time here, and while everything is great, I’d specifically recommend: spicy ramen, spicy tsukemen, oysters mp, and mango kakigori. Between the freshly made noodles and flavorful broths, all of the noodle dishes are the perfect cozy meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the oysters, which came with a yuzu mint vinaigrette that added a bright vibrancy to each oyster. Don’t shy away from getting dessert the end! The shaved ice is a great way to end on a refreshing note without feeling bogged down by sugar. Note that this place fills up quick, so reserve in advance or come early to beat the wait. “Pretty good! Ordered delivery - the mackerel rice bowl and shoyu chicken ramen. The food did not arrive at all hot, but it could have been on the delivery person making too many stops. The ramen broth had great flavor without being too salty, and the noodles had a really good texture. The toppings were lackluster. The mackerel itself again was awesome, but the bowl just came with some plain rice and a somewhat sad salad. The bowl overall could have used more flavor.“

“This place is extremely small, but we were able to get a last minute reservation for an early dinner this Saturday. It exceeded my husband and my expectations. Everyone raved about the scotch egg, but it was probably our least favorite (still delicious) out of everything we ordered. We ordered the kalbi Mandu, scotch egg, tteokbokki, salmon jang, and the japaguri. Overall, our favorites were the tteokboki and the japaguri, but everything was delicious! We also tried a trio of kimchi, with the seasonal being Asian pear — so impressive and refreshing. Modern takes on Korean dishes that were texturally interesting and extremely flavorful. The portions were larger than expected as well for the price. Wonderful dining experience, and we will definitely come back.“

“Revisited Rai Rai Ken and what I thought could not be improved upon suprised me by getting even better. Here is a totally authentic place with amazing food, presented beautifully and quickly, in an atmosphere both serious and fun. Looking around me, people on happy first dates sipped sake and smiled, young , well dressed students discussed something fervently, all the tables were taken and laden with steaming, enticing, dinners, and my friend and I were really happy too. Before you enter, you'll find yourself staring at the wooden, cozy storefront that screams "comfort food". To start off, we had the kara-age and takoyaki which were good with a drizzle of lemon. However, the main star was my kara miso ramen with pork, which had a hearty miso soup base with a dab of spice sauce. There are also non-pork options such as the seafood yaki bowl, which my friend had. Despite the full house on a friday evening, the service was great and very attentive. The staff is welcoming and professional.For starters the gyoza was yummy, perfectly prepared but the mains were exceptional, the shoyu king ramen was the best ramen we ever had and the eel and rice dish was also really good in flavor and the eel was done perfectly also the miso king ramen was very flavorful ,the miso flavor was exquisite . If your looking for a delicious place to eat around 60th and 5th you should definitely go to shinjuku ramen.Beware ,other ramens will be inferior after you have theirs.“

“Went there for lunch with four others. Wr call the Donburi but different types. The apps were the usual Edamame (can't mess this up) and some tasty pan fried Gyoza. We all enjoyed our Donburi and finished them but I thought it was kind of bland so really 3.5 on the food.“

Each order consists of 5 dumplings with chef’s special sauce. There are 5 different sauces available and each one will hit your pallet in a different way.Restaurant has a limited selection of alcoholic including a handful of craft beers.Give this place a try next time you are in the area.“

“I used to live in the area ; was up visiting family and I stumbled on this place by way of an IG reel so I figured I would give it a try because (a)-it was the Friday that NJ experienced a 4.8 earthquake and I most certainly didn't think I was in the right headspace to do any cooking and (b)-this place was literally 1 mile away from my mother's house so I figured I'd pay the extra overhead and have it delivered because it was so close.Let's get the con out of the way; despite me putting my address in and stating where I lived the food was never delivered. I received prompt notifications on my phone about it being almost ready & that it was on its way..but I literally was standing in front of the single family residence and received a text that my food was delivered but it wasn't. Not the best first impression..When I called the establishment Chelf Salty communicated his dismay and stated he would remake my order for in person pick-up; I appreciated his effort to make this right so I agreed.I'm glad I did.I ordered the spicy miso ramen, the tori katsu ramen, and the stamina ramen (was sharing with mom).The spicy miso ramen has a nice kick, the ramen noodles have a good chew and the pork confit was silky. Katsu ramen and stamina ramen though brothless had great balance of flavor between the amazingly dressed noodles (again nice kick in heat/flavor that wasn't blindingly spicy), perfect jammy eggs and the the chicken katsu was DIVINE..perfectly crisp..juicy..and again..great balance of flavor in the chicken.If you don't feel like getting in your car to drive to a ramen place and just want to tuck into some yummy ramen at home do give this place a try..I'm glad I did. Is it the best ramen I have ever had in my life? No..but I think it holds its own with the other ramen places in Essex county and again..I think it's a great option for the peeps that live in Nutley/Belleville area that just want to tuck into some good comfort food that isn't pizza or mexican-give it a shot!“

“I hadn't been back to this location since I moved here over a decade ago, and kind of mad that I'd forgot about it! Just liquid gold in a bowl. I had the regular pork tonkatsu and appreciated the actual serving of extra garlic (so many places short you on this!) my order was ready within 5 minutes of ordering on the walk over, super friendly workers in the front. I'll have to revisit their east side location but really I think the tonkatsu is better here.“
