“They are the GOAT of Hoboken Hoagies. Their fresh made daily roast beef and mozzarella sandwich is unbeatable. I've been looking forward to a sandwich every time someone says Hoboken for over 30 years. My dad used to bring them home as a treat when we were kids. They are just as good as they ever were. My picky kids love it, too! ?I would have taken a photo, but the giant delicious sandwich didn't last long enough. ”

“When a craftsman takes pride in their work, it shows! Let me tell you that this pizza has "craftsmanship" written all over it! To begin with not many pizzerias make grandma slices, whereas they had an abundance when I went in. To top it off the taste is just an explosion of flavor! This is besides a variety of pizza styles they have ready. I'm definitely coming back and can't wait to try out other craft slices!”

Olivia's 1038 Garden St, Hoboken Mediterranean • $$$

“I randomly stumbled on this location after a quick Google search of "best cocktail bars/lounges in Hoboken." I was not disappointed, the location it self is right at a corner and cannot be missed. Parking is tricky as it is fairly residential but there is a nearby parking garage. Upon arrival I was greeted by the most sweet, attentive, and professional hostess that guided me to my seat and made conversation. In the background there was live music. A guitarist was serenading the atmosphere with his lovely voice and music selection. I sat at the bar and was immediately checked on by the bartender who went down the line of what my taste profile was, favorite type of spirit, and made a recommendation based on Gin and it was delicious. Ended up ordering two. Then she made further recommendations which all hit the mark. Although I did not eat, the people next to me ordered food that looked quite appetizing. Being in NY and commuting to NJ for this bar was the best decision I made that night and I will be back. This place is great for vibes, date night, dinner, or a quick pre-game. Pro Tip: ask them why the bar is called Olivia's. #illbeback”

“My daughter is very picky with ice cream and saw a Facebook ad requesting we go. We went and ordered 4 different things in the hopes she’d eat something. She finished her entire ice cream and literally gave it a thumbs up. Usually she eats 1-2 bites and says she’s done. My 2 year old swapped between his and mine because he couldn’t decide what was better. My husband finished his first and doesn’t usually eat ice cream. We got strawberry sorbet, Greek yogurt, Belgium chocolate, chocolate hazelnut Oreo-one was made into a sandwich nothing but deliciousness!”

Antique Bar & Bakery 122 Willow Ave, Hoboken Bar & Grill • $$$

“We tried a few items. To start we got the mushroom arancini which was really delicious and crunchy. There was a cheesy cream at the bottom of the bowl that was room temp but very delicious. We got the meatball which was amazing and the bread dipped in the sauce was so good. I was really excited to get the mussels but they were really unimpressive. Not so much flavor and not a lot of broth. The bread that came with it was great. We also got the charred Caesar salad. The dressing was really thick. Almost a hummus consistency and was on the bottom of the plate. The salad was very watery but still interesting. The table next to us got the arugula salad which was beautifully presented. For entrees we got the rigatoni which was missing something. It looked like an ideal pasta but was missing salt or spice. We also got the short rib which was highly recommended. Overall I would come back here to try some other items like the salads, sides and Mac and cheese. I'm taking off a star for the mussels. I'm also taking off a star because there was a really bad smell in the restaurant. It was a mix of seafood and sewage. I don't know if it was the bathroom and kitchen smells but either way it was foul. It was kind covered up at times by a slight fragrance but still disgusting.”

There is always someone stilling there. Also, near some seats are changing stations, which is really nice if your phone charge is running low. 2) I will highly recommend the pasties, it is meat filled pastry with gravy. Boomerang Bites 152 Newark St., Hoboken Bakery • $

“How happy I am to see this store open up in Hoboken! I've loved Boomerang Bites since I tried them at The Hive coffee shop in Hoboken and have been hooked since! (3-4 years now possibly!). They're these delicious, full of flavor small square bites that are kind of cookie/fudge/brownie/cake like depending on which flavor you have. It's really indescribable but they're sooo delicious! My favorite are the salted caramel, sweet caramel (without the salt), passion fruit, and the gluten free fruit and nut. They're the perfect sweet treat alone, after a meal or a small quick snack with coffee or tea. Upon my visit I also tried the chai tea with almond milk and added my own honey and it was also delicious. Great temperature and chai flavor--not too overpowering as some other chais I've had before. The service is great here, the women are really friendly and welcoming. And the ambience is very laid back and relaxing. I'm not a huge fan of the chair by the front windows as they feel very fragile to sit on but I look forward to checking out the backyard when the temperature warms up!”

“Super friendly staff. Loved the flavor recommendations they give. I tried the Doppio Espresso with Captain crunch gelato which is a blueberry, mascarpone and biscoff gelato. They have a lot of vegan options. You can choose between 1,2 and 3 flavours together and with cone and additional toppings. Looking forward to trying more amazing flavors here. 10/10 recommend.”

“Could not be a bigger fan. Good food and great happy hour deals. They pretty much have something fun for every night of the week. Service is quick and the staff is super friendly. Also a great place to have a fundraiser. I hosted one there last year and it was a great fit for friends, family and coworkers. Having live music was also a huge plus for the vibes 10/10”

“I can't believe this place is called Chicken Factory, becuase they have the most incredible mochi donuts! This was my first time ever trying a mochi donut, and I was impressed. I got three flavors to go: passion fruit, strawberry, and matcha. The donuts themselves were light and fluffy. If you're craving a desert that's not too sweet, these are going to be a perfect fit. My favorite was the passion fruit, followed by the strawberry. I tend to love matcha flavored things but I could barely taste the matcha in the mochi donut. Next time, I would skip the match altogether. They have their own delivery system, which also makes ordering from here super convinient. I recommend that you give it a try!”

The Whale Tea Hoboken 303B 1st St, Hoboken Bubble Tea • $

“One of the better options for milk tea in Hoboken. I really enjoyed their classic bubble milk tea which I ordered as hot and it came out steaming.I appreciate that they don't charge extra for having non-dairy milk options, although toppings, size, and even making it hot costs extra. One can order through Snackpass or the kiosks in the store and they make the drinks rather quickly.”

The Little Local 519 Adams St, Hoboken Coffee Shops • $

“Ordered:Medium Cold Brew (~$5): with lavender and a splash of oat milk (+50¢)Aya's take:Small coffee shop with your typical cafe menu. I opted for the Cold Brew today with Lavender syrup. I love floral flavors and the lavender really balanced out the bitterness of the cold brew. It could've used a bit more oat milk to make it smoother. I got the caffeine kick I wanted and was nice to sip on for the time being.”

“Coffee here is decent, service is quick. I'm giving this 3 stars because although Mojo has the makings of a nice local spot, the customer service is not the best compared to the other similar spots in town. The few times I've visited Mojo, the baristas acted like they were doing me a favor by making my order and each time I couldn't wait to get out. There are plenty of spots to get coffee from in this town, Mojo will not be my go-to anytime soon.”

Carpe Diem 1405 Grand St, Hoboken Irish • $$

“Amazing Irish spot. 1) The place is very cozy. It is a warm cozy spot on a rainy day. They also have couches, which is very nice. But, getting the couches is tough. There is always someone stilling there. Also, near some seats are changing stations, which is really nice if your phone charge is running low. 2) I will highly recommend the pasties, it is meat filled pastry with gravy. Unbelievable! 3) Their Shepard's Pie was great. But, ask for their gravy on the side. It makes the Shepard's pie go from a 7/10 to a solid 9/10”

“This is a great spot for happy hour if you're gonna sit outside and enjoy some seafood. However, there needs to be a deep cleaning done to get some of the funky smell out of the restaurant. Not to take away from the great customer service and food overall. Candles are not gonna hide it. I am very nose sensitive and can literally smell through walls, no, I'm serious. Those old bay fries were really good!”

“This is the original Carlo's Bakery shop in Hoboken. I was bummed that none of Buddy's family members were in the store or him. I got a slice of rainbow cake and a lobster tail. The cake was delicious but the frosting is super sweet. The cake decorations are amazing on the cakes sold in the shop This store looks just like the one in Times Square except the Hoboken shop has a gorgeous original exterior. “Dining at Amanda's is a treat. My husband and I both had the gnocchi with a light tomato sauce. It was perfectly done. An arugula salad with orange sections, goat cheese and balsamic drizzle had the right balance of sweet and savory. The restaurant was extremely busy with several large parties, but the service was attentive. The live music added to the ambience. It was soft and pleasing to the ear.
