“Delicious authentic cuisine, large portions, friendly attentive staff, clean, beautiful decor, chill vibe, and best of all...reasonably priced. I can't say enough about this place. New top "go-to" when visiting Hoboken. Elegant enough for a special occasion, yet comfortable enough for a quick bite with friends or family. Well done!“
“My new spot for Indian mithai(sweets). For sweets, I tried their shahi laddoo, kesar laddoo, kaju katli, kesar peda, original peda, Bengali kalakand, rasgulla, rasmalai, and sooji halwa. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Also had their channa poori which was savory. Fresh, deep-fried bread always makes life better“

“I never realized this place was so close to where I lived. I heard the Indian spices were a nice twist to the dishes they served. Started with the dosa, the chutneys were good. The steak was very buttery, but I didn't get much unique flavor aside from the peppercorn. The fries that came with it were great, nice and crispy. The jerk chicken was tender, but not as spicy as I would have thought. I did like the pickled vegetables to change up the flavors. Interesting concept, but I think they could have taken a little more risk with the flavors.“

“When I walked in the restaurant the delicious aromas let me know I made a good choice. The food was absolutely amazing with vegan/vegetarian options and even a complimentary gluten free appetizer. The staff was welcoming and the service great. The prices were reasonable, but the best part was the delicious food!!“

“Giving it 4 stars only because certain items here are very sweet like Paneer Makhani. It tasted like candy to me. This is constructive feedback so you’re able to improvise on the Paneer Makhani and add more flavor to it than just sweetness.PS: They definitely know how to cook Indian food as other items tasted good from my previous experience.“

“Food: 4/5 | Service: 4.5/5 | Experience: 4/5 This is a very tiny restaurant with 3 (or 4?) 2-person tables. I ordered the big rowdy sandwich in the rebel heat profile. I waited for around 10 minutes. The portion size was as expected. I'm not sure I could get behind the flavor because the heat was the standout. I wish I got a better depth of flavor rather than spicy. You also need to buy water if you want it.“

“I highly recommend dining at Jazba for an exceptional culinary experience. My husband and I went there for dinner with our friends. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff. We were served by Mamta who was very knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. We really liked their selection of cocktails. We tried Peepli, Kokum, Paan and Panch Phoran. All the drinks were great but I personally liked Peepli the best. It had a nice tangy flavor that went well with the alcohol. We ordered Basket Chaat and Empire Fried Chicken for appetizers and for main course we got Atrai Panneer, Daal Makhni, and Green Chilli Chicken along with their unique bread selection (appam, lacha parantha and roomali roti). The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation of each dish was impeccable. The beautiful utensils added a nice touch of elegance (see pictures I have added). Overall, it was a memorable dining experience and we will definitely visit again.“

“This place was really fun. We had it (and the nice starry moonlit sky) all to ourselves on a Wednesday night. Which is a shame! More people should be coming here!Achari mushroom appetizer was a great start with a little spice. After a brief chat with the owner who told us about the history and where they source food and spices my wife and I shared the paneer makhini and Pandara Road Wala butter chicken. Both were so excellent we forgot to get any photos ?A+, will come back again.“

“Fun, casual atmosphere. The music is a bit loud, but not very. I bring headphones when eating alone but I also love the music. The chettinad curry with lamb was great. It's coconut based and pretty thick and fattening, but very good. I got it with butter free roti and it came with rice. The lamb was not too fatty and was very tender - really excellent! Might not get the curry again because it is so fattening with all the coconut milk, or maybe I can just avoid eating all the coconut milk curry and only eat some of it plus the meat. The chicken vepudu is good and interesting. I'm not sure if it comes without dairy by default or if you have to order it special with no dairy. It is a bit hot for me but if I take breaks between eating then it's not too hot. It comes with lightly fried batter, maybe lightly fried onions and other things, and the meat is tender. Would get again.Dietary restrictions: They have dairy free options“

“Everything about this place is absolutely outstanding. The food, the service, the cleanliness. Everything is made fresh and brings back Mumbai memories. Strongly recommend the Dabangg Vada Pav for all spicy food lovers, and the pani puri, the milkshakes, and the paneer tikka roll. Have heard so much about their chhole and kulcha, definitely going to come back for that next!“

“I was able to experience the reopening dinner and I just loved the ambiance. The place just has that calming vibe and the interior is done just perfectly. The color theory used make the place welcoming and each area has its own vibe. My favorite area and I am sure everyone else’s area is the back area with all the plants. Can’t wait to experience it again.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian and vegan options are availableParking: You can find parking around but since it’s NY ITs hard to find parking over weekendKid-friendliness: 10+ kids are preferred as there are stairs to enter the area and high chairs are not available“

“From outside it looks like Small boutique Restaurant specializing in Indian cuisine & I just found it while roaming around streets of New York during recent visit & this accidental discovery didn't let me down, food quality & quantity both are amazing, owner is present almost from 11 am to 11 pm & staff is courteous, highly recommended as I visited all the sought after restaurants in town but this one stands out for the gourmet Indian food.“

“I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is amazing. Fresh, natural ingredients. Their drinks are truly like I've said-works of art. They are talented mixologists!! The food is made to your liking-spicy, not spicy etc. We like it spicy and they will even adjust the spice level to whatever your liking. The ambiance is very nice-with candles just perfect for that special night out. We are addicted!!!“

“Such an excellent place with wonderful food. The first time we went, a while ago, we just walked in and had dinner...now it appears you cannot do that as the place is small and packed. So do get yourself a reservation. Or if you haven't had the foresight to do that, you can take the same food home as I just did. I loved the dals, particularly the tadka and every biryani I have tried. The service is smooth and friendly, and my take out order came quickly and was so well-wrapped that it was still quite warm after a slow bus ride in chilly weather. I plan to go back as often as I can....(or take out) -------------------- Second and third time, I tried new things, just as great. I really like this place and will keep coming back. The staff is really welcoming.“

“Located across the tourist trap Katz's Delicatessen, Punjabi Deli is a taste of Punjab in the heart of East Village. Walking into this narrow entrance I saw people of different ethnic backgrounds enjoying roti, daal, & sabji. I loved to see this. They have samosas, pakoras, chai & all the sweets. The simplicity of their menu pays homage to authentic Punjabi cuisine. They have everything your Punjabi neighbor would feed you. Not to mention their plates are incredibly affordable. They have mostly vegetarian dishes if not all. They have snacks from India & a variety of other items. Behind the counter you will see Sardar-Ji (the Sikh turbaned man) with broken English but a friendly smile on his face. Stopping by this Deli was a wholesome & authentic experience. Looking forward to coming back! PSA. It's a small space inside (standing room only) so takeaway is best and it's cash only.“

“I’ve had this place on my list for a while now. I loved trying the kebabs and sharab/drinks (virgin for me!). I loved the colonial-era decor with peacocks and carved wood. The appetizer portion sizes could be improved and the bathrooms could’ve been better too but nothing too bad. The food was really good! Here’s what we had:▪️Dahi ke Kebab (yogurt) 9/10▪️Sardarji Machi (Old Delhi fish) 9/10▪️Doori Kebab with Sheermal (goat) 10/10▪️Paneer Shashlik (cheese skewers) 6/10▪️Old Delhi Korma (mutton) 8/10▪️Bangin’ Baingan (eggplant) 7/10▪️Palak Paneer (spinach and cheese) 5/10?Chai raisin cake with rasmalai milk and chai ice cream 6/10?Mango Chutney (mango, pomegranate) 8/10ps> they’re halal and even brought out dates for the whole restaurant for iftaar!? “The restaurant was slightly off the tourist truck, but it was busy with people. The service is friendly but very slow compared to New York's ways of service. The place is simple inside, with nothing to brag about, but the food explodes with flavors. I ordered Vindaloo, which is a lamb dish, and it is so spicy and garlic naan break. The dish was delicious, and eat every bit of it. The sauce was so good i used naan to finish it off. I want to return and order more, but this time, i will ask for the authentic level of spice.“
