“We had the VFW in Astoria booked for a celebration of life for my mom and brother. We waited and waited and no one showed up to let us in. A crowd began to gather and still no word from the VFW. My wife and sister searched the area and stumbled up The Local. They explained our situation and the bartender was more than accommodating. We were able to use the outside area which was quite spacious and bring our own food!!! All they asked was that we bought some drinks(which were amazing!!!) I will definitely visit the Local whenever I'm in Astoria!!!“

“Went to attend a Bitcoin related talk on a Thursday night. Wish the bar had more cocktail/mock-tail options, but seems like 90% were men, so can’t expect too much.Nice open space at the back of the bar, they host events almost everyday and sometimes a few events a night.Very convenient location, easy to find, food and drinks are good, everyone’s friendly too!“

“All I could say is if I could go higher than five stars I would, but since I am limited to five stars I will have to go with that. Wow!! ??✊????Wheelchair accessibility: As far as being wheelchair accessible there's a bouncer this particular lounge is on the first floor so there is an individual by the door who can open the door for an individual who is in a wheelchair and let them in easy access.“

“A really cool metal bar. There's not much to dislike if you like metal. There's a ton of photos, memorabilia, signatures and more. It's fun to just glance around and see what bands you recognize. There's a fake electric chair in the back too. The drinks are as expected and okay prices. If I lived closer this would be one of my go to bars.“

“Great spot in Red Hook! Came in on a Saturday afternoon and was not too busy at all. TLDR: Staff was attentive, food was solid! Food: came in with a group and we got the shrimp tacos, Carne asada taco, guac, cheese quesadilla, and butternut squash quesadilla. Everything was good but I definitely preferred the quesadillas!Service: wasn't too busy when we visited and the staff were very nice and attentive. They had run out of tortillas for burritos and a couple taco meats but our waiter was helpful with suggesting alternativesGood for: casual spot to catch up with friends Inside tips: nothing really, just highly encourage you get the butternut squash quesadilla (:“

“Great local place with very good entertainment. Love the bartenders!“
“This place is great for what it is. A lot of the hipster bars nowadays are trying to be something they're not and this place isn't really like that. I also like how they have a dice game with a jackpot you pay a dollar to roll that's dope. I have no idea if they have food so can't comment on that“

“Spent many an afternoon here in the 90's enjoying pints of Guinnes with friends. Moved from NYC, but returned on Wednesday 4/10 to drink with a friend. Amazing to find that the music, pints and friendly atmosphere and service hadn't changed.“

“The best dive in the area. This is the type of place I long for in NYC and Brooklyn. Straightforward service, great atmosphere, and the addition of I Like Food just takes it over the top, everything there is delicious and their waitress is consistently the friendliest person in the city and always makes my day better.“
“It has always been a pleasure stopping by a great after work place to have a drink or two.☝“

“I've stumbled upon an incredible local bar! The bartenders are friendly, and the crowd is always laid back! and enjoyable, And let's not forget the amazing food they serve, it's absolutely fantastic! It's definitely worth a visit to experience it firsthand!“
“Great local Irish bar. I was staying a week at a nearby hotel and this place had the exact Irish bar feel I needed. I instantly felt like a regular they were glad to see, coming and going. Proper for an Irish place. Good pours on the beers. I was here for the first 2016 Presidential Debates and there was a lot of opinions, but in true NYC style, nobody got bent, no matter how much of a (&%$g idiot the other person was.“

“Stopped by while out and it was a cozy dive bar with various drink options. I tried the Nothing Rhymes with Blood Orange Margarita which was good ... a little on the sweet side but not too bad. Overall it was a nice experience due to the nice staff and ability to drink, relax and chat with friends over the low music.“
“The most important bar of the neighborhood (and beyond really). Always open when all the other ones have closed way too early, great atmosphere, mixed audience. A great hang to chat with friends, talk to strangers at the bar or simply sit by yourself and decompress.“

“A great neighborhood bar with fun decor (plenty of plants), a great selection of drinks (including non-alcoholic options), board games, and a photo booth. My only complaint is that it seems word has gotten out about this place over the past year, and has become super crowded on weekends. Still, love Pearl's and keep coming back.“

“Absolutely immaculate vibes. Great to watch sports, hang out, grab drinks. Asad is so friendly and kind and really makes this bar a must go-to. I can’t recommend enough! Also, I’ve been coming on Premier league Saturday mornings and Asad has been giving us small bowls of popcorn, which is so thoughtful!“

“My favorite bar near home! The staff is great, they have board games and shuffleboard, and their beers are top notch! I love going there at least once a week to see the different beers on tap. I brought my sister once here and she loved the Snow White cocktail. We came in during happy hour on Tuesday a while ago and the bartender was super sweet! Made her a cool custom cocktail that she enjoyed. It’s also bring your own food, which is great! Can bring it in or have it delivered. Bob’s will always be my comfort spot for a beer. Also spent new years there, great vibe! My boyfriend also did mention that they once played Akira on the projector. Incredible!“
“What an awesome spot. Felt like I was in the basement of some 70s sitcom character. Truly one of the best curated atmospheres of any dive bar I’ve been to in the city! Also, gotta love the super affordable drinks in a not-so-affordable part of Manhattan.“
“This is a cocktail program for people who loves and appreciates a drink that takes into consideration the nuances of flavor. The Freezer Martini rivals and beats the Cold Pizza from DCP. The team loves their job, what they do and it’s clear in how much they appreciate their patrons. Come here, and enjoy the great atmosphere and conversation over some of the best cocktails I’ve had.“

“Located in a cozy nook of Roosevelt Ave. The drinks are solid and the service is on point. Great place for conversation or a fun game of darts. I must say the decibel level of the music was just right. I didn't feel like I had to talk extra loud to people next to me. It had a chill vibe to it and I would definitely recommend it.“
“This place is great for what it is. Cheap drinks, divey, friendly staff and hilarious regulars. It's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of mostly younger crowds downtown. And you can bring your own food. I basically picnicked there by bringing sandwiches and fresh mozzarella with a friend. Ben, my favorite bartender, served us with his usual charm, and provided good banter when needed. It's a vibe. Go inside.“

“A couple of weeks ago I visited this place and I loved the relationship that the artist can have with the audience, the stage is very intimate and you can appreciate it so close, in addition to a great audio sound that makes the experience immersive, I congratulate you, engineer. audio of the place , the drinks are at a good price and the place is easy to access, 2 blocks away you find the nearest train. “The service was excellent. They are busy so don't expect to be served immediately. Joe and Armon were superb. Both friendly and worked fluently. It isn't your traditional NYC pizza. We ordered the pizza and garlic knots and they were both delicious. Highly Recommend.“

“Listen if you’re looking for no thrills this is the Dig ol Bicks of bars. Each person in staff is an absolute legend a mommy if you will. I would sooner be waterboarded than choose any other neighborhood bar. If you’re looking for anything other than cheap drinks good people and an A+ atmosphere than pick a different spot. “
“Hip dive bar that plays eclectic punk, indie, darkwave music. All vegan menu, cheap beers, pool tables, and decent sized music venue in the back with a stage that often hosts screamo shows. One minor gripe - if you're at a packed show, it can get pretty hot even with the AC on.Other than that, good vibes and good music.“
“What a great find when we visited NYC! We are already planning our next trip to the city just to come back.“

“I love stopping by while I'm in Queens. Now that I have discovered they have an Elf mural and a resident (of sorts) French bulldog with his own barstool, this is a must stop while visiting this neighborhood. Super laidback and the drinks are cold and flowing. The staff wants to ensure a good experience! Live music when I was there on a Friday early evening. Cheers!“
