“An awesome dive bar that you would typically see in the East Village. The place is laid back and unpretentious. They have a happy hour special with $5 beers, but honestly, it's not even needed. Their beers are regularly $5-$7 as it is. There is a small outdoor seating area at the back as well and the bartender offers free popcorn to everyone. Overall, this is a nice spot to hit up after dinner.“

“My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time and it was great! The service was friendly, they were attentative to our needs such as re-filling water without us asking. There are restaurants where you have to ask the waiter to refill the water (I understand if the place is busy but if the business is slow and the waiter is not attentive that is a pet peeve).The recommendation that the waiter suggested was great! We ordered two burgers ( Baconology and Genus burger both with sweet potatoes fries) plus an appetizer (Nacho Board). This burger place is way better than this other burger place in Queens claiming to be the best in Queens. “This is one of the best restaurants I have visited. The food and drinks were very tasty and with good temperature. The service was phenomenal because they really know how to take care of their customers. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really cool and they have a place in the back where you can take nice pictures. I will definitely recommend this place to eat good food and spend some time with friends.“

“When I say Blends was a vybe.....it definitely was an awesome vybe. My brother stumbled upon it after searching for a an awesome spot we could dine into. After getting there, we immediately started to take pictures because it has places and spots that are designated for photography, it had a very interesting design and ambiance to it, almost like a club. “I’ve been coming to Rolo’s since they first opened and they really never disappoint. The food just gets better and better. Everything is amazing but my hands down favorite is the shrimp. I’d say it’s easily some of if not the best shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. The whole menu just compliments itself from the Calabrian chili butter to the wagyu steak. Also, Sitting in the back of the restaurant is such a cool experience because you get to watch the chefs work their magic on that wood fire grill. The inside back dining room is super chic with those ceiling lights, but the acoustics can be a bit much – it gets loud in there, and we found ourselves practically yelling depending on how packed it was. But hey, that didn't stop us from enjoying a killer Za’atar martini and some decent wine, even if it did cost us a pretty penny. We stuck to glasses since the bottle prices were just... weird.Our waiter, bless his heart, was an absolute gem – full of energy and seriously clued in on the menu. We asked him for the must-haves, and we went all in on his recommendations. Feta pistachio dip, fried halloumi, carrots, cauliflower, chicken shawarma, lamb merguez – we tried it all! The cauliflower was a real standout with its warm spices and bright citrus/sweet pops. The real star though was the chicken shawarma and lamb Merguez. Pure perfection – juicy and bursting with flavor.But alas, not everything hit the mark. The feta pistachio dip was decent, but it tasted more like a funky Gorgonzola than the tangy feta we were craving. And those carrots? Good, but they needed more spice, a crunch for texture, and a bit more consistency in every bite. Oh, and don't get me started on the pita – it was soft, sure, but unfortunately a bit too dry for my liking.But hey, the team made up for it with a sweet surprise – a free dessert! And let me tell you, nothing beats a killer coffee ice cream with chocolate. So yeah, while Shuka didn't quite earn a permanent spot in our hearts, we're glad we gave it a whirl. Op aanraden van de ober hebben we gebakken schouderkarbonade met oesterchampions besteld en dit was het hoogtepunt van de avond. Heerlijk mals vlees dat bijna op je tong smelt in een lichtzoete saus. De koude zoete aardappel noedels waren ook smaakvol, al is dit wellicht meer een gerecht om op een warme zomerdag te bestellen dan tijdens een koude dag. Om de maaltijd af te sluiten hadden we zwarte sesam ijs met matcha biscuit en gedroogde aardbeien. Prima toetje met leuke presentatie. “I heard that Tonchin is difficult to get walk-ins for, so I was really excited to get a reservation here. There was a long line of walk-ins when we arrived for our 12pm reservation. The restaurant has a cool modern vibe and good service. Overall there were some things I liked, but nothing was particularly memorable.The kimchi mushroom ($8) was meh and not worth the cost. It was very small, cold, and sour -- just hard strips of oyster mushroom in a chili oil/vinegar flavor. I didn't taste the kimchi flavor.The original maguro ($27) was very good. Lots of great flavors and textures, and everything was cut to the same size. I enjoyed the crunchy bits.The tebasaki ($18 for 6 pieces) had quite big and tender wings. The drumettes had more flavor and sauciness. This wasn't a must-get, but it was decent.The smoked dashi ramen ($22) definitely lived up to its name. It was a rich but not overly heavy pork broth with smoked dashi liquid on top. It was good but not amazing. I didn't love that the bamboo was in a big chunk, which made it hard to eat. The noodles are nothing special. I felt similarly about the tonkotsu ramen.I got the aka drink ($18) which was pretty good -- very floral and good sweetness. It wasn't that big, though -- it had a giant ice block in it.Overall the restaurant has a nice vibe and the food is quick to come out, but nothing would make me come back. The maguro was definitely the highlight.“
