“Just got back from a thoroughly enjoyable meal at Shaw-naé’s House on Van Duzer. The sangria was plentiful, the food was fresh, hot and tasty, the wait staff attentive, and the ambience was perfecto (my wife sang to ALL the songs!). Too full for dessert, but I was eyeing that peach cobbler! Next time!“

“First off, first time here, and I have been living on the island for 13 yrs. The food was good. The one thing I didn't like was rasta pasta it was missing something. the cream sauce was a little too thick it didn't coat all the pasta. The stew chicken and black eye peas were my favorite, along with the collard greens. I'll definitely come back for that. The person who took the order could've been paying more attention. The orders got mixed up, but it just seemed a little rush, but overall, it was good.“

“Went here for the first time today and everything was delicious!!! The customer service was awesome and they give you a nice portion!!! Hubby said the yams were the best he’s ever had, and my favorite were the Lima beans!! The smothered chicken wings were delicious and we both loved the rice and gravy too!!!“

“The last time I tasted Jollof rice of the caliber made here was in a local spot in Lagos, Nigeria where it is made in iron pots and cooked with firewood. I don't know how they did it, but it beats every jollof rice I have had in the US so far. I ordered it with chicken for my birthday party and it was a hit. Everyone wanted to take some rice to go after the party.The chef is also the kindest and most personable individual you would ever meet. She added extra portions and a little something on the side to commemorate my birthday and helped me drop off the food too.
