“We stopped in on a whim today- hadn't even known this shop existed before we spotted it. The flavors we tried today (spumoni, espresso explosion, and chocolate with peanut butter and pretzels) were fantastic. the spumoni especially is NOTHING like the usual stuff you get at restaurants or at the store. The chocolate dipped cones and cups (we had one of each) were not just a vehicle for the ice cream but treats in their own right. I don't know what kind of chocolate they used, but it was simultaneously not messy but very soft. We were happy to see affogato on the menu and will be going for that next time. Some less common flavors to be had here, like peach blueberry and black licorice. Thanks for the great service.”

“These folks are the heart of the neighborhood. Their breakfast sandwiches are totally hand made— they scramble the eggs in front of ya. And the evening cocktails are absolutely killer. The coffee drinks are sublime. Can’t say enough about how warm and welcoming the owners are.”

“Mudd coffee is roasted locally by Marco (1/2 Pint Cafe), and Local Coffee makes a jazzy Nutella mocha that is soo sweet! Love it! The Mexican mocha is also delicious! Remember to use your Fred Meyer gas receipt for $1 off. --- frugal kugal”

“I can’t believe how expensive pizza is in the Portland area. I’m always shocked when we get the bill. $75 for two pizzas, no drinks or anything else, is insane (one XL and one gluten free 12”). The gluten free was actually one of the better that I’ve had. They put so many toppings on, like honestly it’s too much sometimes. Decent pizza but for the price… you could go to a nice restaurant. The staff were friendly. Restaurant reminds me of pizza places I went to after a softball game in the 90s as a little kid, outdated but nostalgic.”
“Great place to unwind ... machines seem to hit here more often which is good for the pockets ... And between Terri and Mandi the bartender attendants the service is on time an awesome.... Food.Beer.VPoker is a mix of good times and helps the spirits heal from the negative BS ...??”

“While the outside lacks visual interest as landscaping and the building is not up to snuff, (grungy back area facing street to north and main parking area) , it is a very comfortable place to enjoy a nice meal. Friendly service always from greeting through the meal...choices are varied and always well made. I have gone back multiple times. It is reasonable in price too.”

“Cynthia is amazing at her job, yet a bartender who takes no guff. Despite her “resting bar face” - when she smiles at you? It is genuine and makes one feel truly seen. The food is unlike any hole-in-the-wall bar you will visit. Who doesn’t want breakfast all day?? More people should frequent this Oak Grove hidden gem”

“A funny near not funny thing happened in Starbucks parking lot at this location. I parked my car in the lot across and over a bit from Starbucks. My husband and I got out of the car and started walking towards the door and after a few steps we both took a bit of a dive downwards as the slope was steep and was not obvious. It would have been bad if we didn’t catch ourselves because we could have done a face plant right into the asphalt! OUCH! But maybe someone else might not have been so lucky and might have completed a face plant. Why they didn’t even out the grading is a mystery to me! It’s an accident waiting to happen. BTW, our drinks were fine.”

“Stopped by here on a Sunday evening for dinner. There was a large poker tournament going on in the back with a few patrons in the bar area either eating or playing games. Bartender was incredibly friendly and wanted to make sure we got our food orders in before the poker group did so we wouldn’t have to wait.Even though I felt the food and drinks came in a timely fashion the bartender still apologized repeatedly and thanked us for our patience. Will definitely return here just because of the great service.”

“It was truly an amazing experience. Everything was delicious. The staff was awesome. Everyone was friendly. Every dish was better than the last. The twice cooked pork, amazing. The PLAINTAIN BRIOCHE BUNS, delicious and full of flavor. Wish we'd had two servings. The peanut, creamed greens are full of subtle flavor that builds and builds. The smoked ribs ranked among the best grilled beef I've ever had. The BLANCMANGE, with coconut custard, might be the best thing we had. It's a rare experience where we talked about what we want to try next time as we were driving home. Both of us are looking forward to going back again! Oh, and their drinks are amazing as well. Their Hearthfire was filled with flavor and heat! Delicious!”

“UPDATED REVIEW: I had previously had a poor experience but the second visit completely changed my mind. I'm really happy I gave it a second shot. TLDR: Le Pigeon went from 2 stars to 5 stars after our second experience there because it really is a phenomenal spot to dine for special occasions or anyone looking for an excellent tasting menu. Andy (co-owner) reached out to me pretty quickly after seeing my review and hadn't seen the private review I had given due to their switch from Resy to OpenTable. The email really put me at ease because Andy was very understanding and didn't make excuses for any of the reasons I gave regarding our poor experience. He is a first class owner. Every interaction via email as well as in person was pleasant and professional. Andy even made sure to introduce himself to myself and my husband the second time we came in. Every dish was cooked to perfection this time. We opted for the chef's counter which I HIGHLY recommend, especially if you likes asking questions about the meals and preparations. The chefs were very knowledge, down-to-earth, super friendly and willing to share enthusiastically. My favorite dish was the sea scallop with macadamia nut, mezcal and strawberry (to die for, melts in your mouth) and the opening dish which was a savory rice crispy with onion jam, unagi, and shaved truffle - divine! The dessert was also so delicious and refreshing. The halibut dish was another winner, poached to perfection in olive oil, tasted like spring. Every staff member this time was friendly, I never had my water lower than half way (which I really appreciate because I'm always thirsty lol), the atmosphere was pleasant and the playlist was great while not being too loud. Huge thanks to Andy and Molly for the wonderful experience and being open to any feedback given. I am truly thankful for the second shot and very happy we were able to experience Le Pigeon in the right way.”

“Had an evening food tasting here - there were several courses of delicious food provided with the experience. We added on the apple cider vinegar drink, which was the right choice to warm us up for the winter food tasting.Although I had noted with my booking that I'm gluten-free, they brought me a few courses with gluten. I had to keep checking and waiting for a revised course to be provided when the mistake was made. If you have a food sensitivity/allergy, keep this in mind and make sure you check with each serving/meal.If you do a group booking, make sure to let them know you want separate servings as they were bringing us one plate for each course for our group, until we asked them to bring us separate ones. Considering the food tasting is an expensive experience and they charge per person, this was the first time I was brought a single plate/serving for a group booking.”

“Perfect date night with amazingly well prepared food. Appreciated that we didn’t feel rushed by the waiter or that the restaurant was trying to keep the guests revolving through as fast as they could. Was not expecting a few menu items with Asian flair, highly recommend pairing the chilled tom kha mussels and shrimp udon. Husband said oysters were the best he’s had. Really enjoyed having some different drinks to try, like skin contact wine and Amari. Will definitely be back!”
“One of favorite breweries. A hidden jewel of the Portland beer scene. High quality beer in a wide variety of traditional styles and some innovations. Chill and friendly vibe. Dog friendly. Worth going off the beaten path to have a pint or two.”

“The best pizza I’ve had, and I eat pizza a lot. We had the pepperoni and the garlic arugula pizza and my friend and I kept just saying how good it was. It’s the kind of pizza you feel like you should keep talking about but you come up short everytime you try.”

“My son and daughter in law chose this venue for the reception following their wedding. We had a group of less than 20 people in the private dining room. Fantastic experience. Everyone at the restaurant was helpful on coordinating setup prior to the event. The appetizers, cocktails, entrees and desserts all received rave reviews from the wedding guests. Service was on point and we were extremely pleased with everything. Highly recommended for a small group gathering space (the private room is the perfect size for a group of 20). We will dine here again during our next trip to Portland.”

“Went for cocktails, which were lovely and not crazy expensive. Food, including oysters and a small plate of cheese ended up costing over 70 per couple averaging three drinks for two. Great environment. Nice staff. Just seemed pretty pricey for food. But, who am I kidding? I never go out anymore!”

“I have lived in Morocco and been traveling there since the 1970s. my lunch yesterday at Kasbah Moroccan Cafe was undoubtedly the best Moroccan food I have eaten in the US. The food was delicious and authentic. Portions were generous. While we had to eat outside due to Covid, we could see that the inside of the cafe was attractively done in Moroccan style. The owner was very friendly. My son-in-law is Moroccan and he loved the food as well. I unreservedly recommend this place and will make a point of eating there next time I visit Portland.”

“Highly recommended by locals and it didn’t disappoint. I enjoy sours and that’s what brought me here. The large selection of beers is fantastic! I enjoyed a flight of 5 different beers and the bartender gave me a taste of a seasonal one to boot. I was visiting from Alabama for the weekend and I am so glad I was directed to this brewery! The area had great shopping too. Cool local stores nearby.”

“Had another wonderful breakfast here! Had Gabriel again for a server this trip. He’s just friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! Love it here. I had the Denver omelet this time- a staple breakfast for me. They use real ham steak and red pepper. It’s so good. Will definitely be back when I’m in the area!”
