Bamboo Sushi 380 1st St, Lake Oswego Sushi • $$

“Couldn’t help but see a misinformed review-reply from management 2 months ago.Do not say the fish does not have additives or added color. That is false information. I don’t care about your MSC-certification. Be clear and be honest about your sushi. It is a farmed fish. It has added color. For example, more than any other fish on the menu, its the almighty “King Salmon.” Color added through the food pellets they consume in water-pens. Period. Look it up yourself folks. That beautiful color isn’t so natural. Neither is that fat content. You should really consider where you eat with misinformation floating around like this…Ps: You’re probably just doing your job, but this this is not OK as a customer.”

“This is a lovely setting in Lake Oswego.Service is outstanding and atmosphere is very relaxing. We could have stayed there tasting wine for hours. Josh our waiter was very nice and took time explaining all the different wines and their unique characteristics. They had a red wine tasting offered. But when he heard I only drink white, he made me my own special white wine tasting. I am an owner, but I'm sure they give this outstanding service to everyone.Parking: This is in a mall by Whole Foods on State StreetSo”

Salt & Straw 100 A Ave, Lake Oswego Ice Cream Shop • $

“It'd be tough to imagine a better ice cream shop. This place had a line 20 people at the door so we knew it would be worth trying. We were able to get in pretty quickly, and were instantly met with you recognizable aroma of hot, fresh waffle cones. The ambience makes it feel a little bit more upscale, but the staff is so friendly and makes it a fun and casual place to get some delicious ice cream. They let me sample almost every flavor and seemed excited that I wanted to keep trying. They serve a wide variety of classic and more non-traditional flavors. I ended up getting a scoop of olive oil and a scoop of their special cookie dough, but would have been delighted with all of the options. They were all lusciously creamy, and the flavors were excellent!”

“New menu means new items, possibly too many? The maramen was extremely spicy! If you can't handle ghost pepper heat, I wouldn't try it. It laterally gave me heartburn! The karaage (Japanese fried chicken) was burnt and definitely tasted it. But the tonkatsu ramen was perfect. And of course the service is always good here.”

“Although there used to be another Persian / Mediterreanian Restaurant in this location before, this is a newer establishment, under new ownership and management. We stopped here for lunch with a couple of friends on Friday at noon... right as they open. The place was empty with no other customers besides the three of us. This is a large restaurant with plenty of seating. They seem to have a large bar as well. We ordered three of the Persian specialty foods, typically served at restaurants... the Ground Beef Kabob, the Chicken Kabob and the Barg Kabob. All were served with fluffy Saffron covered Basmati rice, a grilled tomato and of course each was served the appropriate kabob. The quality and quantity of all the items were very good. The Kabobs were served hot and were flavorful. We will have to come back to try the rest of their menu items.”

“Our Friday night date and we had a wonderful time. Make reservations...we could see wait times were a little long. The wait area feeds into the shop with many treats to buy from their homemade pasta to gelatos. We sat outdoors in the patio areas. We were pleasantly surprised with the many water features and cafe lighting which fits the ambiance. Hello little India 15158 Bangy Rd, Lake Oswego Indian • $

“This place makes delicious Indian food. We typically order samosas to start and the chicken tikka and saag paneer with plain naan. The vegetable samosa is piping hot, perfect balance of tangy spices and a light fried shell. The tikka has great flavor, texture and plenty of tender chicken chunks. The paneer is the best we have had in Portland. We used to go to Swagat before moving out to West Linn--this food is WAY better. Service was great. Attentive, checked back several times, replace our water carafe. What more could you ask for? Ambiance is pretty simple, but we are not going there to be wowed by the walls.”

“The restaurant is very nice, inside and out. The menu has what you expect, which in this case is great. We were seated immediately, and the staff were quick to provide drinks, menus, and garlic bread sticks. The food was great, I enjoyed the Tour of Italy. It's a big plate, and I ate everything.Prices are about the same as all the other restaurants, so it won't break the bank. I will add that the chairs are not comfortable, but if they were, people wouldn't leave after they ate. I highly recommend this Olive Garden. CheersParking: Parking is really good. I have a full size 1 ton diesel truck, and I had no problem parking. Parking is available on 3 sides of the building”

“Awesome food, great service and a classic Chinese food restaurant style dine-in experience. If you are taking to go..grab a drink in the back at the bar. Always one or two characters sitting there and bartender-servers are friendly and at times funny. Fried pot stickers kill. Kiwi-shrimp is a must! Drunken noodles medium spicy won't disappoint. It's a standard go to for me in the LO Tigard area.”

“I'm so sad that Oven & Shaker changed their kale salad. I loved the old salad with the finely shredded kale, grapefruit, delicious dressing and crunchy bread crumbs. The new salad has large pieces of kale, a boring balsamic dressing, and way too many hazelnuts. It lacks the sweet counterpart to the bitter greens. The kale salad used to be one of the main reasons I came to O&S.”

Adisaya Thai 1235 McVey Ave A, Lake Oswego Thai • $

“We've tried several Thai food restaurants in Lake Oswego, and hands down Adisaya is amongst our top two favorites, with Thai Basil. It's our go-to since it's closer to us, but it's honestly very good. You can even request for vegan versions of their dishes and it's fantastic. The food isn't pre-made, it's made to order. “have always received great service; once forgot to specify thin crust, but they whipped it up before my wife arrived for pick-up. Didn't charge for the regular crust version, just kept it in case someone later ordered one. The wide variety of pizza toppings and combos are all delicious, so the only problem with Papa's is making up your mind which one to order; and on Tuesday the price is low enough, why not get 2! I've lived in Oregon 50 years and it's the best I've found (except for the wood fired oven of The Bread Board in Falls City); have visited over 50 pizza parlors rated highly thru-out Oregon. “I came in on 12/22/2023 and have been coming fairly consistently to this location since 2020. I noticed what seems to be a complete overhaul of the operations and quality of ingredients . The staff were super... friendly, efficient, and seemed like veteran Panda Express staff. Everyone seemed to be enjoying what they were doing and the food was some of the best I've ever had in the category of 'fast food'. Maybe there's an A-team that works Friday nights, or the regional manager was in the house (or they just stepped things up after a couple recent bad reviews). Whatever it is, this level of quality and service outshines every other experience I've had at a Panda Express (and most other places at this price-point in the LO/Tigard/Tualatin area).”

I was elated to see that the soup board was still on the menu. The interior of the place looked basically unchanged, yet didn't feel old or dingy. Now that Stanfords is gone I'lldefinitely be making this a regular stop when I'm in town.”

Ovation Coffee & Tea 4055 Mercantile Dr Suite 145, Lake Oswego Coffee Shops • $

“This was my first time coming to Ovation. I had the Vanilla Latte, I would say this is probably the best one that I've tasted so far. It's very vanilla but not too sweet. For food I had the supreme biscuit. It was very yummy and perfect for a breakfast sandwich. The service was nice and hospitable. It's worthy of a standing ovation.”

Peet's Coffee 345 1st St Suite #111, Lake Oswego Coffee Shops • $

“Great coffee (hate sounding like a PNW coffee snob, but we're discerning folk and have been spoiled in Portland, and this is really good coffee even with all the other options we have). Always fresh food options. Plus - big bonus- this location is a few doors down and a charming 30 second walk from the bakery. There is outdoor seating here, plus it's in the very pedestrian focused nook of shops in downtown LO, so really you have the whole area to walk around and get a seat overlooking the lake. The inside seating is nice too, a lot of variety, you can sit with just one other person at a smaller area or sit with a group at the larger tables. Almost always other people here, but even on a Saturday I found immediate seating and the line moves fast. They always have multiple employees behind the counter, even at busy times, which I love because they're so consistent in service. Always friendly too. Unpretentious. Good meeting spot with friends.”

“I went here on a Sunday morning. It's a relatively small place, a corridor with about 5-6 tables. You're always within earshot of all of them. There is a cabinet with exotic looking wine on one end and the barista/cash counter on the other. There are a few snacks available as well, but the coffee is of course the main attraction. I thought I knew something about the espresso coffee variants, but I found myself stumped by the names of the drinks on there, and put on the spot, I went for the usual latte. Next time I will do more research beforehand and definitely pick one of the more exotic drinks. The coffee tasted great! Give it a try if you are looking for something different.”

“Overall great experience, 2 out of the 3 items were delicious. Service was prompt and friendly, good serving size. When we asked for the spicy sauce rack they came and gave us the hot sauces in tiny plastic containers for in-restaurant seating, so much plastic waste. Recommend to change to a reusable spice sauce rack.”

“We had been here once before but only remembered the large impressive wood-fired oven and spacious interior, so it had been a while since we had been here. We had the classic Margherita pizza and the La Verdura (mushroom pizza). The Margherita pizza was good as standard, but the mushroom pizza was uniquely delicious with the mushrooms, and paired well with the Flavored Lemonade (Peach) and Starburst IPA?, it made for a delicious lunch.?✨”

Jefe | Mexican Restaurant 16360 Boones Ferry Rd, Lake Oswego Mexican • $$

“There’s a lot to like about this place. It’s unlike any Mexican restaurant I’ve been to. Love the decor and vibe inside. The tacos were quite good, but not great. The presentation was artful, and the drinks were tasty and creative. Servers were friendly, but nothing above average. My only real complaint is the guacamole appetizer. We got less than 1.5 cups of average tasting guacamole, a half cup of salsa, and some chips for $14. I couldn’t believe the price: should’ve been at least twice as much guacamole for that price. I got about the same amount of chips and salsa as a side order for only four dollars. That was much more reasonable. So I guess it was good enough for me to come back sometime, but I’m not ordering the guacamole.”

“They have great food and great service. The pastries look and taste amazing--the the lamination of the butter in the dough creates a beautiful and flaky pastry. The Monti Cristo I had in the best I have ever eaten. The sweet batter is seared on every side--even the cut side so it is full encased.”

“If you visit downtown Lake Oswego, this is one of my favorite bakeries. Not to mention that it has a great music, Frank Sinatra is playing currently in the background, but it does remind you of walking into a French café. Although they're open all day, my recommendation is always going in before 1 PM. Before 11AM will always be busy, so expect to wait, it's worth it. The earlier you go at the more fresh everything is that's the way of the bakeries!”
