“This was a great meal! I had the yellow curry which was very good and others loved the pad Thai and green curry dishes. But I’m leaving a review for the nice service! I didn’t expect to be waited on at a place where you order and pay at the register but they cleaned the tables, brought us waters+drinks, meals, and went above and beyond after ordering and sitting down to make sure we had everything we needed for our party of 9 last Saturday afternoon“

“overall ratings food: 4.8/5 service: 3.5/5 atmosphere: 4/5 price: $$ value: pretty good! thai basil has been on my bucket list for the longest time. i've heard rave reviews from all of my friends and i was excited to give it a try. firstly, i would like to commend the tasteful interior decor and the availability of parking spaces, which made the visit convenient. additionally, the food, including the pad see ew, pad thai, and chicken satay, was well-prepared and enjoyable. the portion sizes were generous, and the value for money was commendable at $15 for what felt like two meals. however, i did notice an area for improvement in terms of customer service. once our order was taken, there was limited engagement from the staff. no one checked in on us, refilled our water, or attended to our needs. furthermore, when we finished our meal, we had to wait for approximately 20 minutes to receive the bill and request take-out boxes. eventually, we had to flag down a staff member to assist us. i believe enhancing the customer service aspect would greatly benefit the overall experience. despite these observations, i still believe thai basil is a solid neighborhood thai restaurant. given the positive aspects mentioned earlier, i would consider returning if i am in the area again.“

“Overall great experience, 2 out of the 3 items were delicious. Service was prompt and friendly, good serving size. When we asked for the spicy sauce rack they came and gave us the hot sauces in tiny plastic containers for in-restaurant seating, so much plastic waste. Recommend to change to a reusable spice sauce rack.“

“This is a family owned and operated business with a very unique take on wood fired pizza. All of their pizzas are good with amazing crust. The Banh Mi pizza is very popular for a reason. I liked it best and the Burrata was also very tasty. Good beer too. The only downside to this place is that it is small and busy. So happy for the family and hope they get a bigger place to spread out.“

“his is the best Thai food in Portland. Short rib and payaya salad combo is literally the best/tastiest deal in town. So many delicious daily specials alongside my standard pad thai order, it doesn't get better than Zaap. Service is amazing and the owner greets you each time you eat. Best customer service in town-Paul is my guy! This is my wife's favorite meal!“

“For the dine-in experience it is worth 5 stars but ordering to-go is not as easy. They won't be finished on time - possibly a 40 minute wait longer than what Google tells you on a Wednesday evening so workers can be overwhelmed and will put online orders last on priority.“

“I wish I took a photo of the food but I ate it too quickly!I ordered it to go, and I didn't realize until I got home that they added a free order of mango sticky rice (which was delicious). Such sweet people. The staff were very friendly and helpful.I ordered curry and the drunken noodles. The portions are very generous, especially for the price! Everything tasted great. A solid Thai spot that I will definitely come back to!“

“A little on the spendy side but What a phenomenal experience. Definitely recommend getting a reservation as the wait times can be long. My wife and I placed a reservation for the chef's table and I certainly recommend doing it too (unless you have a large party or would prefer sitting in the outdoor patio). Watching the chefs cook over the grill and prep the seafood infront of you just shows how fresh the food is and the level of detail and quality goes into each dish. In addition our server was incredibly friendly and attentive. My wife and I got the Fried Tofu and Panang curry. The Tofu was fantastic, light and crispy and super flavorful. I love spice but be careful of the birds-eye chili they use as a garnish. Panang Curry is a must in my opinion. The curry itself is thick and flavorful. The Wagyu steak melts in your mouth. My only complaint is that I want more!.“

“So so good!! Everything is incredibly delicious and the owner is very kind. We got the Chor Muang, Chor Chaba, Khao Mak Gai, and Coconut Water Braised Pork Belly. Seriously some of the best Thai food we've had in the city. It's not your typical Thai food dishes like Pad Thai or Pad See Ew so if you're expecting that, you won't find those here. Instead you'll find scrumptious dishes once served to Thai royalty!“

“I ordered the Thai Basil, Crab Puffs, and spring rolls. They came with the sweet and sour sauce that's homemade. Everything was outstanding. I spent 5 weeks in Thailand last year and this food is right on par and it's fresh, has great flavor, and it is a large person so you definitely get your money's worth.“

“We had an absolutely lovely meal here. We took it for takeout and everything stood up to the trip. We had the papaya salad, which I’m really glad we got a little more mild cause they tend to run hot. We also got the Penang, which comes with rice. It also comes with an egg on top and the fried chicken swims in the curry. It was lovely. Finally we got an order of Pad see ew but we’re not super impressed. There was a bit of a funk to it and a slight taste of cinnamon. With the juices from the curry and the papaya salad, though it was delicious. Another note is the wontons are not filled with cream cheese, the wontons are filled With the most tender of chicken meatballs. We were a little disappointed to not have cream cheese but honestly, they were pretty tasty.“

“I visited this place 4 months ago, in January on a trip from Seattle to Portland. Needless to say it left a profound impact as I am coming back months later to leave a review after recommending it to countless friends. Being able to eat such a high quality meal, in a low-lit yet dazzling ambiance, is truly what makes life worth living. Go for dinner, enjoy spectacular cocktails, & DO NOT miss the chinese sashimi or the black pepper beef. Cannot wait to return. 10/10 truly a memorable meal.“

“Just had this place for the first time last night and it was awesome. We had the pad thai, pad see ew, fried rice, red curry, and chicken wings. It was all great. The wings were especially good. The curry was a little spicy for the kids, but I loved it. I am glad this place is in the neighborhood, and I'll definitely be going back. I loved the veggies they added to all the dishes.“

“I can't believe I waited this long to try out this place! My friend has been raving about it for ages, and now I know why. From the moment I stepped in, the vibes were incredible, and the service was top-notch. And let's talk about the food – it was an explosion of flavors, reminiscent of the amazing Thai cuisine I savored during my Southeast Asian adventure a couple of years back. A definite must-visit!"“

“I usually don't take pictures of my food before I eat it (except for my own!) But if I could go back in time I would have taken a photo of our dinner! I am not super experienced with Thai food but I love good food!! And I am so excited that I have a new place to go out and enjoy great food and the service at our table was perfect! “Pad Thai is an interesting dish to me. When you look at it from an aesthetics stand point, it looks sloppy. But the taste is usually great and this place did a great job ensuring that! The service was fast and the food well priced.I had the chicken Pad Thai with pot stickers. I had chosen mild for my spice level but it literally felt like none was placed into it. I think going above one, if you normally eat spicy food is acceptable!Another thing I enjoyed was the biodegradable bags and reusable plates! Good job on being environmentally conscious!Lastly, I enjoyed how they have their menu on the exterior to the food cart area! This limits you holding up the line by not knowing what it is you want to order.Parking: Limited street parking. I, honestly, just parked at Target and walked across the street. Idk how risk tolerant you are BUT if you get towed that's on you.Seems like the tax business down the street has a no parking sign. Idk how enforceable that is since it's a street that's publicly owned but, again, that's at your own discretion.“

“Honestly, the best Thai food I have had in a long time. I ordered off Doordash and they were one of the only actual restaurants/food carts ( not shell restaurants or gas station food) that was open. I'm so happy I gave them a try. Food was delicious and portions are huge. I will definitely be making Esan Thai Eastport one of my regular places to eat!“

“This place is the real deal! You can smell it in the neighborhood and it tastes just as delicious! We got the pad kee mao with tofu and she just spices it so well! The egg and broccoli were so juiced with the sauce and it was so fresh! They make the spice just right not so hot that it's all heat. But there's really an umami flavor! Definitely a top thai place in my book!“

“First of all, this is not a typical dining experience. They are working very hard to provide a creative, upscale, and authentic Thai food experience that is on another level from what you can get on a regular basis. The flavors are not tailored to an American palate. It is also quite expensive, one of the more expensive restaurants I have eaten at. The food is very good and the experience is unique, but be warned it is extremely expensive. Our bill came to almost 500 dollars for 2 people.I feel like it's also worth noting that some of the food is very spicy. Thai food is spicy, so this is a good thing, but be ready. This is a tasting menu, so you can't really substitute or order other things if you can't eat spicy food.Lastly, I was somewhat disappointed in the wine pairing. The cocktails here are exceptional, though, so next time, I would try those for the money you would spend on the wine pairing. Just my two cents, but if you prefer wine with dinner, get the wine pairing.“

“We've tried several Thai food restaurants in Lake Oswego, and hands down Adisaya is amongst our top two favorites, with Thai Basil. It's our go-to since it's closer to us, but it's honestly very good. You can even request for vegan versions of their dishes and it's fantastic. The food isn't pre-made, it's made to order. Many Thai restaurants will exclude the sauces when ordering it vegan, but not here.“
