“Lapachi's is a great spot to pick up a quick meal. Chef Lapachi was kind and attentive when I visited, even though he was also quite busy, and able to recommend a dish that met my eating preferences. I had the fries and a vegetable panini. The fries were crisp on the outside with a soft interior. They were seasoned well, complementing the essence of the potato without overpowering it. Although the fries are a side that pair nicely with a sandwich, I did not need to eat them with any sauce. They could easily be a stand alone snack!As for the vegetable panini, I appreciated that it was cut into two manageable halves. The bread came out crunchy but not hard and I could taste notes of feta and perhaps other cheeses under the flavor of the olives and warm tomatoes.All in all, I had a pleasant experience at this new downtown bistro. Chef Lapachi is one of the best chefs around, and I look forward to exploring the menu more in the future!“

“What a healthy and delightful place to eat while in Austin. Ordered the dolma, the poor square, horchata Mexican cokes and the Thai burrito. Everything was fresh and tasty. The owner is also very kind and helpful and courteous. I would definitely recommend.“

“This was our last meal in Austin before heading home and it was good, but not the spectacular meal we were hoping for. The K-fries were amazing - exactly what I wanted. But my rice bowl and my husband's wrap were just ok.You order at the counter and at 8pm on a Monday they were sold out of the char-grilled chicken and red bell pepper aioli (what he wanted) so that was a huge bummer. I got the falafel and it was a little heavily fried for my liking. We eat mostly vegan when not traveling and in an effort to ease myself back in, I got the two vegan sauces (not including regular Sriracha) and they're serious when they say the XXX sauce is very spicy.The atmosphere is cute and there are toys for kids and a covered ping pong table.“

The Kebab Shop (Crave Pack with Carved Chicken & Falafel) earned top ratings this season as the favorite pregame meal for our LASA girls soccer team (which btw, we were bi-district champs this year - GO RAPTORS!) Nery was very helpful in accommodating our requests for several meals which made ordering and pick up very seamless. They even threw in some extra falafel! “Troy ATX is amazing. The service and ambiance is unmatched. I went for my birthday this weekend and had some of the best food I've ever had in my life. The portions are so large, I'm still eating my leftovers two days later. They lit a candle for me and my husband and turned on a little campfire on the tv screen. Our server was so so kind! I couldn't finish my plate and he asked if I was dissatisfied and offered to replace it. I made sure to let him know it was perfect and that I was perfectly happy! “HUGE gyro! Stopped here to check out what food carts were available and decided to try this one, super glad I did because the gyro was delicious! I decided on the Gyro Plate and oh Boy, this was a great choice. It had everything from meat, rice and salad. “My family eats here a few times a month. We can place and customize our order through the app. The pick-up doesn’t require waiting in line, so it is fast and easy. The veggies are always fresh and the flavors are delicious. That’s not why I’m giving a 5-star review though.Earlier this week, for whatever reason, our order was messed up. None of the bowls were correct. There was tzatziki sauce in bowls that were supposed to have no sauce and missing from the bowls that were supposed to have it. Falafel missing from my wife’s order bowl. Corn and pickled onions in my daughter’s bowl, when it should not have been, and was missing from mine. Not one of the customized orders was correct. One bowl was missing entirely. Some of the sides were missing.My wife places the order and I pick it up. Usually that works flawlessly. I didn’t know that anything was wrong until I was already home and the food was being put out on the table. To her credit, my daughter handled it the best. The rest of us, not so much. The mixups made the dishes inedible for our various dietary restrictions and we weren’t able to find a way to switch to meet the other’s needs. Most of the order went uneaten and, unfortunately, my son the garbage disposal was away from home for the week. It was a complete waste.The reason I’m writing this 5-star review is for what happened next. I called the store and explained the situation. I wasn’t cursing or name calling, but I was clearly angry. I was hungry, my wife was upset, and it was about all I could handle. The manager I spoke with listened patiently and as soon as I stopped speaking said “I’m sorry” then gave me options on how he could try to remedy the situation. I choose the option to come into the store another time and have them remake the entire order. He took my information, apologized again, and we hung up. I was still hungry, but I wasn’t angry anymore.Today, I went to claim that offer to redo the entire order. I asked to speak with a manager, but the employee said she wasn’t immediately available and asked if it was something he could help me with. I explained the situation and he said, “No problem, I can get that started for you.” He was sincere, polite, and cheerful. He put me at ease and got to work right away. Shortly afterwards, Lala, the manager came and spoke with me. I briefly explained the situation again. Meanwhile the first guy was making fresh falafel for my wife’s bowl. Then she joined in to help complete the order.At every step of the way each of the employees I interacted with were polite, sincere, and very obviously trying their best to fix the situation. That’s why I am giving a 5 star review.Typically, I will not give more than 4 stars. Even if the place/person/service was great, because I think 5 stars should represent something beyond great - something special. Two managers and one employee. Nary an eye roll, nor scoff, nor anything except for a genuine friendly demeanor and a willingness to try their best to help me. That is something special and I truly appreciate what they did.
