“First time dining here and loved it. Brought my wife for her birthday and they personalized the menu and brought her a decadent dessert on the house. Calamari breading is immaculate and Wagyu tartare was done very well with some micro greens. Our waiter claimed the duck was the best he’s had and truthfully it was in the highest echelon. The serving of lobster with ravilolini was generous. Such yummy dessert too (had the pineapple mojito). Was a little skeptical given it’s in Falls Church in an office building but pleasantly pleased ?”

“Just had an unforgettable dining experience at Padaek in Arlington Ridge, VA, and I couldn't wait to share! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, setting the perfect stage for what was to come. Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the rich flavors of Lao and Regional Thai cuisine. The Siin Savanh, Gaeng Hang Lay, and Mieng were absolute standouts, bursting with authenticity and boldness. And dessert? Oh, don't even get me started! The Mango Sticky Rice and Khao Niew Met Nga were the perfect sweet endings to an incredible meal. But what truly sets Padaek apart is the attention to detail and the stories behind the food. Chef Seng's dedication to preserving tradition and sharing her family's recipes shines through in every bite.Overall, Padaek exceeded all expectations. Chay Restaurant 6351 Columbia Pike Suite 201, Falls Church Vegan • $$

“I went to this place for my birthday and I have to say that it was a great experience. My family and I shared the Bún bò Huế (spicy noodles), hoành thánh chiên (fried wontons), Gà xào húng quế (Thai basil chicken), and Bánh hỏi đặc biệt (Vermicelli platter). The food was so good, my favorite was the Bánh hỏi đặc biệt. The owner went around to every table and checked up on everybody and our waters were being refilled constantly. Everyone was really nice. They don't typically do anything special for birthdays, but the owner gave me a free mango sticky rice!! Even after we paid and started to leave, the owner came out to us and recommended the ice cream place next door. I really appreciate family businesses and loved to see that traditional foods are still very accessible to people with dietary restrictions. I am 100% visiting again.Dietary restrictions: Many of their dishes can be made vegan easily and they have a glutton free menu.”

La Tingeria 626 S Washington St, Falls Church Latin American • $

“One of the best spots in the DMV hands down. I wanted to check out the place for some time because I had never experienced Taco Tuesday for myself. Like it was just lingering in my head until one day I suddenly said to myself, " I should really try something new today ". And thus, here we are with a review. La Tingeria is a Taco Shop located in Falls Church. If there's one thing I will have to mention, the parking situation is like trying to solve a jigsaw puzzle. Why are there so many cars here? How can anyone park here? There's parking on the streets, the sidewalk but it's very limited. I'm not saying there are better options close to you but if you are briefly going in to pick up food, I think you'd be okay with parking relatively close by. I must have hit the lottery when I accidently checked Instagram or so on Tuesday. Saw a post from where their social media representative mentioned 5-9 PM for 2 dollar Tacos. That's amazing! I decided to splurge because why not right? After parking, I ventured inside. I think I must have been the first to walk in once it hit 5 PM, I was on a mission for sure. I immediately went to the board to check out all the Taco Items they had.. Birria, Chorizo, Hal Pastor, Carne Asada, ect... So many good options. I got 2 Birria Goat, 2 Birria Beef, 1 Tinga Chicken, 1 Tinga Beef, 2 Chorizos for my choice of tacos. I also paid for Consomme which is an absolute must if I'm going to dip my tacos in delicious broth. I also had to get a Mexican Coke too. The only downside was there was one that wasn't chilled so it was at room temperature. The Birria Goat/Beef were soft, tender chunks of meat that melted in your mouth with full bliss the minute you took a bite. Dipping it into the Consommé felt like a dream came true. I never experienced a wide array of euphoria after eating good tacos. The Tinga Chicken/Beef Tacos were okay but the meat kept falling out of the Taco and into the Consommé. It was good but I think I would opt for something else. The Chorizo tacos had a slight kick to them but not overpowering. I think with the Consommé they brought more of that saltiness out. For around 24 dollars, this is a match made in heaven. I think truly this is a place I will check out again for sure.”

“This place is a true local gem. Food is of very high quality, and everything is consistently cooked to perfection. Their consistency is actually really impressive - I’ve never been disappointed by a single thing, and I’ve eaten A LOT of their food. But everything is so good, so I haven’t really made my way outside of the same few items from their menu. The difference is that the staff actually care about their customers, and take pride in their food. It’s not so common these days, and is a pleasant surprise. It’s the reason I will always eat there.”

Musicbox karaoke 2980 Gallows Rd Space 30, Falls Church Sushi Bar • $$

“I have a love/hate relationship with this place. When it comes to events, everything is at the lobby once you walk in and it's filled with neon lights, a dimly lit bar full of many offerings of alcohol you can get, a few small sections for VIP for your friends, and usually a DJ playing their music. There's open karaoke as well but I don't know if people sing often in the lobby. So I have been here many times for my friends and even booked a room as well. Rooms are spacious and they do have pretty nice audio. But there is one thing that truly irks me every time I come here. So they have a touch screen where you can add your karaoke songs through YouTube or through their system but getting the videos to load is a pain. It's annoying to deal with because it skips to the next song in queue so if you are with a group of 5+ more people, it can be very stressful. The worst part is we asked the staff about it and they aren't really sure what to do about the connection. I mean they should really fix that because I'm sure it gets people upset. No one wants their song to be skipped. Aside from that, you can also hear the loudness from other rooms, I don't expect that to be an issue but it's noticeable on busy nights. If you do plan to go here, there's one thing I highly advise before going. Check their socials if they are hosting any event and call ahead to know about the room rates. The website shows their original flat rates for the room but in events, they raise the prices up. If you go in person, check the menu before deciding to put your money down. This place also adds gratuity to the bill so be prepared to drop down a lot. While I frequently come back here just to hang out with friends, karaoke is one of my favorite hobbies. Its never a good time when your song doesn't get played or you get charged way more than you should.”

“Went here for Mother's Day brunch. Now usually Mother's Day brunches are a hassle for the restaurant, and a disappointment to the customer (at least in my experience), but The Falls knocked it outta the park! This was actually our 2nd time dining here as we had a very nice dinner there awhile back and thought we'd return. They had a special Mother's Day menu that included prime rib, and I really dig the unlimited small plate concept. Everybody got to order what they wanted, and everyone got to share a bite or two. The mimosa kit was very fun and at the end they gave my wife a special cookie treat to take home. The food was excellent, but our server was even better. His name was Nelson, and he was awesome. I mean, he never missed a beat and when we were done with the first round of dishes he was immediately there to see if we wanted more. He made some great suggestions and was a total pro. “Hands down the best Thai food in the area especially for pan fried noodle dishes like Drunken Noodle and Pad See Ew! You get that nice wok fry flavor and char on the noodles that gives the dish the unique Thai street food taste. The chicken empanadas are a great appetizer! If you are a fan of pork belly, I’d totally recommend getting the pork belly w/ Chinese broccoli over rice dish and order a side of curry sauce to pour over the rice! I also highly recommend the Panang curry. The restaurant is very small and super casual but id def recommend every time!”

“I came hear after hearing from a friend about their lunch buffet. I believe the price is about $22 per person however the lunch buffet has a decent amount of selection with about 12-14 or so dishes. The food does rotate depending on the scraps they have but u can definitely expect an assortment of curries, naan, rice, all the basic necessities. The curries are usually diverse and do well to complement each other. This is my go to place whenever I want someone to explore Indian flavors since they are able to try a multitude of dishes.”

“They definitely have more sandwich options than years prior, so it's great to see that. They're the only reasonably priced sandwich place I town I feel, I just can't stand spending $8 bucks a banh mi at Banh Mi DC and feel like I just ate air. I used to think the sandwich fillings and pickled vegetables were was tasteless here, but the bread was always sublime, I think they've bumped up their game in recent times. But I do think the bread is not as good now (but not horrible either). Can't win. The #1 and #2 Combination isn't as good as Banh Mi DC's either, but i usually get the grilled chicken here, add some more Maggi sauce at home and a smidge of mayo since the sandwich can get a little dry. I'll still come here again and again though.”

A family ate next to us and when they left, the staff wasted no time in getting that table cleaned up and ready for the next guests to be served. Oh yeah, our server even asked if there are any dietary restrictions, and that to me was the cherry on top! You definitely have to make a reservation and have paid before coming to join the buffet. We were a party of four and paid about $175 for the buffet. The food was delicious and mouthwatering, but a little bit expensive for a buffet in a room if you ask me. The lamb & basmati rice was yummy. Seasoned perfectly & lamb was tender & mouthwatering. Rice pudding was tasty & sweet. Omg their stroganoff was delicious and to die for. Their salad was fresh & yummy. Really the whole iftar buffet was great. “Amazing Peruvian food. This place has plenty of seating and great service. Make sure you come here with an appetite otherwise you'll be leaving with plenty of leftovers (which is a good thing in my book). Their plates come with heavy portions and are definitely worth the price. Some dishes I believe you could split between two or more people. I've come here with my family and friends multiple times because their food is delicious. My go to is always the cau cau a la criolla because it's one of the few places that serves it. It's always seasoned perfectly and the texture is amazing. I've also tried their lomo saltado and jalea de mariscos which don't disappoint either. Every dish comes out with so much flavour. Their horchata is perfectly sweet as well. It might be overwhelming at first since they have a lot of options on their menu, but trust me anything you pick will be good.”

“There aren't that many places when it comes to dim sum in the area so Ill be rating the restaurant with that in mind:First off, parking is pretty big so it was pretty easy to find some. The wait time can get very long on the weekend(1hr+) so plan accordingly. Earlier is better. The food itself is pretty good. My go to items are Siu Mai, Shrimp Dumplings, Pork Ribs, Chicken Feet, Shrimp Noodles Roll and Turnip Cake. All the items are very good but occasionally the food is cold which happens. . Price-wise it's pretty reasonable for dim-sum so if you are looking for dim-sum this place will hit the spot.”

“My recent dining experience at Olive Garden left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with comfortable seating and soft lighting that created a cozy ambiance. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing prompt service throughout the meal. One highlight was the extensive menu, offering a wide variety of Italian-inspired dishes to choose from. The pasta dishes, in particular, were flavorful and generously portioned, while the breadsticks and salad provided a satisfying start to the meal. The dessert options were also tempting, with indulgent treats to satisfy any sweet tooth. However, there were a few aspects of the experience that fell short of expectations. The wait time for a table was longer than anticipated, despite having made a reservation in advance. Additionally, while the food was tasty, some dishes lacked the depth of flavor and authenticity that I associate with Italian cuisine.Another minor issue was the noise level in the restaurant, which at times made it difficult to hold a conversation without raising our voices.Overall, while Olive Garden offers a pleasant dining experience with a wide selection of dishes to choose from, there is room for improvement in certain areas. With a few adjustments to wait times and food quality, it could become an even more appealing destination for lovers of Italian cuisine.”

Everyone is professional, the establishment is clean and easy to get to. There's plenty of parking.Conversely, you can expect to pay a little more for a similar meal at a sit down restaurant, regrettably, but not too far off.Do I recommend? “Wouldn't have known about this place if it wasn't for my cousin who lives in Fairfax. From the name you'd think it was Vietnamese and some of the dishes were a bit different from Hong Kong style. We were taking dim sum to my cousin's. The place apparently has been there for about 20 years and we've driven past it numerous times without noticing it. It's a pretty well maintained place with a sizeable dining room nice restrooms and somewhat ornate decor. Service was good and friendly. They have a wheelchair accessible ramp up front. We had a big order for a big family which included a vegetarian and a vegan. We had siu mai, har gow, baked and steamed char siu bao, chicken bao, fried veggie eggrolls, veggie mah po tofu, chicken chow mein, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. These were all pretty much the standard. The pan fried turnip cake was cut up in cubes, and I didn't recognize them but they were good. The pan fried taro cake was a patty of shrimp paste covered in thin strips of taro fried crisp. Very unusual looking but very good. The crisp, stuffed tofu was vegan and good. We were surprised that an order of custard tarts was only two pieces until we saw them. These are the largest tarts I've ever seen and they were delicious! Very flaky crust and generous filling. The deep-fried sesame balls were still crisp and delicious. The roast pork was great. We'll be back.”

This time, I had the feeling this restaurant doesn't get enough business to do the salad bar anymore. Still, upon entering the restuarant/cafe, the ambience felt warm and friendly. There is a great number of items to order from the menu. Today I saw two staff members waiting by the register. I got the idea they hadn't gotten much business for a while.

“We visited this location for the first time today, everything was amazing!! We loved the omurice and curry ramen. Service was exquisite as well and the general manager Fon was amazing and really made our visit worth while. Definitely will be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone!!”

Mia & More 6765 Wilson Blvd, Falls Church Juice • $

“This was my first time with sugarcane juice and it's quite a sweet experience! I got the Kumquat Cane, a refreshing and fruity drink that comes in the easier-to-handle slim-tall cups. If you're used to lowering the sweetness on other drinks, this will be quite sugary, even if you let the ice melt. Service was good, considering there were several orders ahead of me and they make everything fresh. There's plenty on the menu for Mia to distinguish itself from the rest of Eden Center's drink offerings. I was getting worried about over saturation of boba. Though like most boba spots, Mia looks like a fun hangout spot with your friends. Order some drinks and snacks and you can have a chill sit-down after you grocery shop, too. The green, clean, and bright interior really fits the theme for sugarcane.”

“Compass Coffee opened a month ago but I haven't had the chance to pay a visit until recently. Last friday when I went there was a promotion from their Instagram claiming that they were giving out free drinks for the whole day at this location. While the only other drink I had was their seasonal Sakura Latte I wanted to try out their cold brew. This place is spacious and it features lots of ample room to sit down to do work or hang out with friends. Ordering went smooth despite the wait. Since there's a lot of people wanting a free drink, it's going to take a bit longer. I got a Large Nitro Cold Brew Mint. Really refreshing if you like the taste of mint but it was enough to keep me awake. Surely I'd visit this place again as it's next door to my friend that lives across the street. I hope for the best for this place!”
