“Super-fun experience at the culinary experience at the Essex Resort in Essex, VT. Our instructor, Denise, led us through the recipes and techniques to create a wonderful Vermont dinner that included roasted root vegetables, braised chicken (in dark beer and demi-glacé) with shallots and a variety of mushrooms, and a lovely kale salad. We were given the opportunity to decorate autumn themed sugar cookies as well as dip tiny apples into a luscious caramel coating. A small group of 9 students made the experience very intimate. Our meal was served with wine and fresh bread accompanied by an herbed compound butter. Denise was a perfect instructor and I would recommend the experience to anyone who loves to cook.“

“Our new favorite! Our son was diagnosed with Celiac this year and we were hesitant to eat out. Jules has been wonderful for our whole family (mom, dad, 5 year old and 18 months old). It is a little quieter atmosphere which made me nervous the first time we went but the staff and other patrons have always been so kind and welcoming to our kiddos and small amount of chaos they bring. The gluten free menu, including kids menu is excellent and the staff is knowledgeable. The desserts are a highlight (we are fans of the gluten free carrot cake). It has been terrific to go out as a family and have equal options for everyone, thank you!Dietary restrictions: Great Gluten Free options, knowledgeable about the restrictions and cross contamination risksKid-friendliness: So kind, last time we wrote letters to Santa and they had a special mailbox, well about a week later Santa had written back. My son was thrilled!“

“very nice!!! food was hot, fresh, affordable and more than enough. coming from someone with a big appetite i left full. the band was excellent!!! dirty looks band, if you haven’t already definetly check them out!!!! come early as this place gets packed . seemed geared more to my generation ( the 40-50 year olds). sadly i’m feeling old these days and struggle a bit with becoming easily overwhelmed with big crowds and loud noises but i wanted to try it at least once. if you love the bar scene this place is a must try. they also have a very large dance floor. i highly suggest giving this place a shot.Parking: looks like if you arrive early enough there’s plenty of parking but highly suggest getting there early. also couldn’t find it on the food drop down list but my son and i each ordered the chicken tender baskets. cost less than thirty all together and was hot, fresh, plenty and excellent!!!“

“Tried this place on Sunday and the experience was amazing! There was no reservations left so we called when they opened and they told us they have extra spots reserved for walkins at the bar or chefs table. We got a cute little corner area of the bar and it was great! We had the rolls and oysters to start, then I had the scallops and beats for the small dishes and my partner had the swordfish. . The flavour profile of all 3 dishes were soooo good! and we finished off with a soft cheese for desert. We also ordered a smooth red Rioja which just made the night better. Definitely recommend!“

“Food made me giggle it was so good. Super friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Overall amazing expereince.*First time eating Filipino cuisine.Ordered Vegetable Lumpia to start. Didn't totally blow my mind but it was tasty, I liked the crunch on the outside and the Atchara (the sauce on the side, a pickled papaya) was a refreshing balance. For the meals we shared the Bicol Express and Tapsilog.I tasted the Bicol Express (deep fried pork stew in a coconut milk, shrimp paste and aromatic spices, orderd with white rice) first and was absolutely blown away. I don't normally like shrimp because of the texture but this was excellent because it had the fresh taste of shrimp without the texture, and then it had the sweetness of the coconut and a little kick to it. The pork was perfectly crispy which went well with the wet stew.BUT THEN I TRIED THE TAPSILOG (sweet-salty peppery beef, crunchy garlic rice, and a runny fried egg) And oh damn... immediately made me laugh I was so happy. The beef was tangy, garlicky, rich, addicting. Then the fried egg dripped into the amazingly garlicky rice. The most beautiful flavors blending into one.My friend took the Bicol leftovers but you couldn't pry the Tapsilog leftovers from my posession if you tried.“

“My son and I ate here Easter night. It was FABULOUS! It had a very cool vibe and the people working there were outstanding, so friendly. Our server, forgot her name (SORRY), was terrific. Great suggestions, attentive but not overly so. The owner Matt was just as nice. Introduced himself, wanted to know how everything was, and thanked us for stopping in. But most importantly - the food and drink. WOW. We were both starving and hadn't eaten all day,so we shared many small plates.....bread, the Basket of French Fries - Melt-em-down, the ham plate, chilled beets and mushroom tartine. All terrific, but we both said the mushroom tartine was our favorite. We ordered potato gnocchi and arctic char for our dinners. Amazing. For the amount of food we ordered, we weren't stuffed, as the portions were just the right size. The arctic char had a maple beurre blanc sauce that was out of this world, so good, I used a spoon to make sure I got every drop! We shared a smallish scoop of pistachio ice cream layered with chocolate chards - just the right size for a sweet bite after dinner. All in all, one of the best restaurants I've been to in while, anywhere, but definitely the best in Burlington. Oh, and the cocktails......divine! Thank you! Can't wait to come back.“

“Wow.. where to start. I walked in and I was transported back to my mother's kitchen. The aromatic smell of coffee and bacon. I started foaming at the mouth. Kidding. Maybe.Anyhow, they were lovely. The waitress greeted me with a kiss on the forehead and a belly rub. I purchased the Big-Daddy Breakfast, and I was wholly satisfied. Pancakes, eggs, potatoes, toast, bacon, sausage, and love all for $11. I would have loved some peanut butter straight from the jar, but they told me that wasn't an option. I did rummage in the back though, and I found a leftover pork bone to nibble on.Overall, it was a great breakfast, and, Handy, if you're reading this, I promise I won't slobber on the other customers the next time I come in. I just get excited sometimes.“

“This is not a deli it's an experience. It is everything that is pure about food and hospitality. OK yes, you will wait sometimes but, what a beautiful gift to sit down in a room full of a lifetime of art, sip a beer and be here now while, waiting for an absolute genius to lovingly prepare a handcrafted masterpiece. You want fast, cheap, and easy? McDonalds would love your business and you would love McDonalds....but for the purists, the artists and the romantics...sit down and breathe it all in and, when your food arrives and the universe kisses you on the cheek like a perfect sunset you'll know you're alive.“
