Great experience while staying in Banff, Alberta. The food is amazingly tasty! 10/10 by any standards. Recommend steak or wild boar chop, the wild mushroom rizzotto, and halibut. The service was a bit on a slow side, so expect to stay here for a bit... But the good is well worth the wait! Atmosphere is nice and cozy, suitable for conversations, and evenings when you look to relax. Prices are a bit higher than your average restaurant, although the quality of the dishes was worth it for me. The one thing I was not too thrilled with was the desserts, but it was not a showstopper by any means. Either way, highly recommend.

Overall, Good Folk in Banff was a great experience. The food was amazing, and most of the staff were professional and very accommodating.
However, we had an uncomfortable experience with one server named Michelle. She spoke extremely quietly when serving our table — almost like ventriloquism — while speaking clearly and warmly to other tables. This made the service feel inconsistent.
I also ordered a white wine, but it was served in a short cocktail glass instead of a wine glass — an interesting creative choice, but not quite what I expected for wine service.
The food and most of the team were great, but I was disappointed with Michelle’s service.

Dined in for breakfast and had the eggs benedict, and a latte. The eggs benedict was excellent, really liked the chive biscuit and the hollandaise sauce. Coffee was nice too. The restaurant was also really beautiful and comfortable to dine in. I would love to come back again for breakfast.

The best eggs Benedict of my life! The ambience was also beautiful and zen and the service was impeccable - shout out to Erin.
Best restaurant in Banff for us (albeit we didn’t manage to try all of them!). Good service, nice ambience (albeit tad chilly inside) and food was super - the zucchini fritters were paired fabulously with the chutney and pea shoots, beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly, the scallops were very fresh - seared and still bouncy, orange chocolate dessert was delicious. The drinks (old fashioned and negroni) were spot on too. The only slight hiccup for us (would have been a 5 star review otherwise) was that the belly pork that came with the scallops were overcooked (it was v dry and hard). We mentioned this during the meal and the waiter said he would speak to the kitchen but we didn’t hear back after. We enjoyed the dinner nevertheless and would recommend.

Last night, we tried this lovely restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The halibut dish was exquisite — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The lamb chops were a very generous portion and tasted excellent. The beef steak was also outstanding, cooked just right and beautifully seasoned.
Our server, Sean, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening.
Overall, it was an excellent dining experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

The BEST breakfast I have ever had, we tried the good folk breakfast, the potatoes were AMAZING! The eggs Benny was beyond delicious. The experience and food were UNFORGETABLE.

We had breakfast here twice and ordered the same thing both times, it was that good! The French toast is absolutely to die for. The bread is soft and fluffy, topped with perfectly crispy, salty bacon. The maple syrup and cinnamon sugar in between make it wonderfully rich and slightly soggy in the best way. The sunflower seeds on top add a great crunch and nutty flavor, such a nice touch. Overall, an easy 5 stars!
We also tried the Huevos Rancheros, very flavourful ,super tasty and very filling, though the sausage was a bit on the dry side.
Overall a must visit!
