Don’t drink anything on tap, and the karaoke hosts had to many nose beers

We decided to try this restaurant for a quiet evening out, and we’re so glad we did. From the start, the experience felt smooth and welcoming. The staff greeted us promptly, helped us get seated, and made sure we were comfortable. The space itself was bright, clean, and nicely arranged, with an atmosphere that felt warm rather than crowded. It was the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy your time without feeling rushed.
The menu offered plenty of options, and everything we ordered turned out better than expected. The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked with care. Each dish had great presentation, and the taste matched the appearance. Portions were satisfying, and the timing between courses was just right. Nothing felt hurried, and nothing took too long — a perfect balance.
Service played a big role in making the evening memorable. Our waiter was polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly. He checked in at the right moments, answered our questions patiently, and made helpful suggestions. It’s always nice when service feels natural and thoughtful instead of scripted, and that’s exactly what we experienced here.
What stood out most was the consistency — good food, good service, and a pleasant environment all working together. Too often restaurants excel in one area but fall short in another. Here, everything came together smoothly, making the overall experience feel complete.
By the end of our meal, we felt satisfied and appreciated as guests. It was a simple dinner that turned into a lovely evening. We’ll definitely be returning and will recommend this restaurant to friends and family looking for a reliable place with great food and welcoming service.
A great spot for date nights or casual dining — we’re happy to have found it.
Just got in ad I heard good music
They had love music that is done too early IMO.
However, noone has bothered to take our order, so we left and took our business elsewhere.

Hometown bar!
Had a horrible, disgusting experience at this place - kudos to the bartender for absolutely ruining mine and my significantly others night on December 26th, 2025.
Before I share this 0.000001 star of a review, it is important to establish myself as a past Banff worker, rather than a tourist. I've worked in Banff multiple times, I understand and respect the staff life and culture - however, this experience was horrible and was purposely made to be horrible for myself and my gf, hence this review. I'm willing to bet she will probably laugh about this - rather than taking responsibility for her actions.
Here we go.
My girlfriend and I arrived at Pump and Tap around 9:05pm. We ordered our drinks, and decided to play the VLT. I won almost $1200. The bartender, paid me out, and I tipped her $30 after only order our first drinks. (At this point, I can already tell by the lack of enthusiasm, this person hates her job and wasn't thankful for the $30 I just handed her).
After ordering a second drink, we met a nice gentlemen by the pool table, we had asked him to play the winner, he agreed. We talked, we laughed, we were having a great time.. Until the bartender got involved.
She had sent someone to take the pool balls from us mid game. Confused, after the guy grabbed all of our pool balls and brought them to the bartender - my gf asked for an explanation, as we were very confused and didn't know why that had just happend.
The three of us, sat at a table, and pondered for a few minutes as to why this would happen. We decided to leave, and go to the Rose and Crown. No harm done.
A old friend of mine, Joe, whom I've known for almost 10 years, wanted to celebrate his birthday at Pump and Tap - we obliged and walked back to Pump and Tap to meet up with him.
As we arrived, the atmosphere of that particular bartender changed to what I can only describe as hostile.
Joe, greeted us and we sat down.
The bar was clear, it only had a few regulars who already had their drinks ordered.
I approached the bar to order our drinks - the initial bartender purposely ignored me, while the other worker looks at me, then proceeds to put his jacket on -while talking to a different patron who had already been helped.
Two new patrons walked in, and the first bartender immediately serves them before they could even take their jackets off.
I didn't wanna say anything just in case, she did indeed not see me (however I now this wasn't the case)
A different patron walks in, sits beside me, removed her jacket, and the bartender literally ignores me, and serves her. This was the bartender I had tipped $30 dollar for pouring me and my gf ONE drink.
This was a terrible experience, I immediately told my old friend I am leaving, and this ruined our entire night. This was his birthday and he wanted to ring the bell for everyone in the bar, and I would front the bill. She ruined it for everyone, including the revenue they could have generated.
The way that bartender acted was very unprofessional and should be dealt with internally with the owner and management of the Pump and Tap.
