wife and I ate lunch here yesterday. We ordered the 4 course meal. It was really great. Beef and lobster were so delicious. Server was nice. Overall experience was great

Waited almost 2 hours for food, even though we cooked the meat ourselves, and my well-done steak came rare. Server was rude and not apologetic. Potatoes were over-salted, rice was awful.
Paying $60 per dish for this experience is unacceptable. Would not return.

Great overall
Understandable that this place is one of the most popular restaurants in downtown Banff.
Definitely a touristic atmosphere
Fondues were great and service exceptional
But if you’re looking to just dive in for regular steaks, I’d recommend going to a regular steakhouse given the portion
If you want to try something new (bison, elk, etc. ) this is the right place for you

I think this place is iconic. Every town or place has that one restaurant that's been there a long time and has some really interesting charm. This is a very different than most restaurants. There's something for everyone, it's very social. I would say it's a unique dining experience.

Made a reservation to come here on my last visit to Banff, other visits they’ve been fully booked when I tried to walk in. Cozy atmosphere inside and friendly staff, really enjoyed our experience dining here
Grizzly House delivered an amazing feast of exotic meats dinner. Without a doubt, the exceptional service of Mike and Dave. They turned the evening into a true dinner and show in all honesty, it makes the experience both fun and memorable. Amazing place, and I can’t wait to come back again.

Great atmosphere, service was excellent. Many different choices for fondue, we each had a different one, and every meal was great. I would highly recommend The Grizzly House to anyone

Recommended dishes: Chocolate Fondue, French Onion Soup, Wild Game, Alberta Fondue
This is about my 10th time being here and I must say im very disappointed in the quality and portions of food. The vegetable fondue is a definite waste of money one sliced carrot 4 tomatos 4 mushrooms 2 broccoli and 2 cauliflower. Sprinkled with some onions.
Definitely not enough for one person let alone two. We ran out of sauces for meet was told extra is a charge. Ran out of chocolate for the fruit dessert was told had to order a whole other portion. 21.95$ i will definitely not be going back. Many other quaily restaurants in banff worth your dollar. Our server was stressed, frantic and quiet rude. Was looking for the next table to be in our place.

Our second visit and it did not disappoint. We had the fondue combo with 2 different soups, the cheese fondue, beef and seafood mains, and chocolate fondue. The best part is always the crispy cheese when they scrape the pot. Definitely add the garlic to the cheese! Our server was David and he was great! Make a reservation because it fills up fast!

Absolutely delicious — will 100% be back
Went to the Grizzly House in Banff with my family for the first time (though it wasn’t my dad’s first), and it completely lived up to the hype. We ordered the four-course dinner and each chose something different, which meant we got to try a bit of everything — such a great way to experience the menu.
I had the Hunter’s Dinner with buffalo, wild boar, and venison, and it was absolutely incredible. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of flavor. The rest of my family ordered the Alberta steak with prawns and the Alberta steak with scallops, and everything across the table was amazing.
Dinner started with a choice of soup or salad — we chose the salad, and the dressing was fantastic, with a subtle tarragon flavor that I loved. The cheese fondue was honestly my favorite part of the meal and alone would be worth coming back for. Dessert was chocolate fondue with fruit and wafer cookies, which was the perfect ending.
Service was friendly, fast, and spot-on — no complaints at all. I also loved seeing Dad’s Root Beer on the menu (a big win for root beer lovers). The ambiance inside is cozy and charming, and the outdoor seating really lets you soak in the mountain atmosphere. Even without reservations, they were able to seat us, which was a great bonus.
Amazing food, great service, and a memorable experience — I’ll definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Banff.
