The food was good but nothing earth shattering, it was mostly for the experience which was fun and unique. The place can get quite busy but we were able to make a same day reservation. It was annoying how dark it was in tn restaurant, especially when you’re cooking raw meat. I had to use my phone flash light constantly to see if the meat was cooked to my liking because it was so incredible dark in the restaurant.

We have been coming here on our anniversary for 9 years in a row and would never change the tradition. The food, staff and ambiance is fantastic. Old school vibe with quality food for fondue. This is a true timeless masterpeice and a testament to, if its not broke dont fix it. Keep up the amazing work Grizzly house!! We will continue to come back.

The service is really bad. I do not even have chance to ask question. They just start talking and questioning me, like I am prisoner and give me a bad face. No worthy! I will never return. I just want ask very small question and favor.

If you are a fondue aficionado, don't skip. But watch out what you wear, because when you are coming out of there, you will smell like you spent your time in the kitchen! 😂

We had the four course fondue dinner. The food was great, especially the meat quality. The whole experience was great. Our server Jimmy was also very nice and friendly. The chocolate fondue dessert is just amazing!

We went to the Grizzly House on Wednesday for our anniversary dinner. We spent nearly $200 on the fondue, and the meal ended up costing us much, much more! Within one hour of eating the food both my fiancé and I were hit with the most violent sickness we have ever experienced, uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea that went on all night. It was so bad that we were forced to go to the Emergency Room that left us with a completely unexpected $1,000+ medical bill.
I want to be absolutely clear, we followed every instruction and cooked the fondue meats exactly as directed. The immediate symptoms make it undeniable that the contamination came from the kitchen. This has genuinely ruined the idea of eating fondue for us forever. Please, for your own safety and well-being, do not risk your health and money at this establishment.

I would not recommend this restaurant. Tourist grab, waiters/waitresses act like they don't need repeat business. Our waiter was cold, grabbed plates and threw cutlery. I told him to stop his act, or I will speak to the manager.

The food is not worth the price. Tiny pieces of meat to cook on a hot stone. The stone doesn't give the food any flavour and the portions are a joke. Save your self the disappointment and eat at a well known steak house.

I will never return to this sad place.

We had been coming here for years .. but when we asked if the portions were getting smaller the waiter brought out the manager who proceeded to talk down to us .. very loudly.. unfortunately this will be the last time we visit the grizzly house.

We were in between tour stops and ran into this gem. They just opened and the server was very accommodating! I had the seafood stone grill (unofficial name on menu lol) and bison meatball I think and both were so delish I could not believe we were served quick we didn’t miss our bus and our tummies were happy! Missed trying their fondue but everything was fantastic. We sat inside but their outdoor seating have heaters I believe!

Five stars for food and atmosphere- however, 4 stars for the service due to the unpleasant gentleman who took the reservation over the phone. He was very short with me and not very polite.

The service once we arrived at the restaurant was fantastic. Our waiter checked in with us about drinks after each course was served and made sure we had enough bread, garlic butter and a hot enough rock for our food. Great pacing between courses as well. Enough time to let the food settle before eating more.

The food was awesome! The chicken tortellini soup was a stand out for us. Beautifully spiced with large chunks of chicken.

The cheese fondue was a little heavy on the wine to start, however, after it boiled down a bit the flavour became less strong which we enjoyed. And yes, the bread was dry by itself but it is meant to be dipped in the cheese, and once you do that, it becomes perfect.

We loved the hot rock! We all went for beef and seafood options which were amazing with the assortment of dipping sauces they provide. Our server even put the little cup of garlic butter on the hot rock so it could melt and we could dip our seafood in it.

The chocolate fondue was a hit as well. Great assortment of fruits and wafers to dip.

We got the mango margaritas, Long Island iced teas, and Cesar’s. Reasonably priced for the strength of the drinks. We will be coming back next time we are in town.

Underwhelming. The menu is not worth the price. Cheese and chocolate fondue were warm at best and the bread was dry.

I was the vegetarian in the group and our server asked what a vegetarian was, so not a great start. It took us so long to try and figure out what I could eat, and after that, the answer was two plates of raw vegetables. For a menu that'll charge you $50-60 for a meal, not happy.

Despite its history, would definitely skip this place. Go check out any of the other amazing restaurants in Banff.
