This is the most authentic schnitzel I've had outside of Europe and I've been looking for 15 years! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was amazing. I highly recommend this place!!

Disappointed,the schnitzel wasn't really good Not like in Germany.
The portions were tiny ,the spaetzle baby size.

The food was delicious. I had schnitzel, my partner had the pork medallions. Both were very good.
They need to hire a seasoned server. They would easily be able to handle the 6 or 8 tables, and then Dominic could just greet people, make drinks behind the bar, and help his mom in the kitchen if necessary.
Dominic constantly seems stressed and pressed for time to do it all.
A professional server would be able to handle it all, and that would solve a lot of the kinks at Von Essen.
Went for a drive to Bragg Creek today, from Calgary, and stopped here for lunch. Food was excellent and the portions were large! Authentic delicious wiener schnitzel, as per my German husband :) I had the Bröstl bowl also delicious and very filling. Nice to get Stiegl on tap, so refreshing. Met the owner, who came to our table, very friendly and great service. We will be back!

You know those authentic restaurants you’ve been to? This is way better than those. The Paulander Weissbier, and the Jagerschnitzel was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
Everything is so delicacy! Utensils are very unique, food is amazing. Beef stew tastes like mom cooking, baked potatoes home made, great, cozy restaurant, services is great! Come and try.
