Table was dirty. Service is hit then miss. Food was small portion for price. Beef tartare was bland. Nicoise raddicuo salad was good. Rest was not memorable
Had a very enjoyable time. The tea and food was delicious. The harp playing was very pleasing also.
The Fairmont Palliser was wonderfully decorated for the Christmas season. Our high tea experience was lovely and we thoroughly enjoy the afternoon. The food was very good and the tea was delicious. The service was excellent from the moment we drove up to the door, to the hostess at the restaurant, the servers and the employee that graciously said that he could take our photos. I highly recommend the visit!
I made a reservation in advance, but when I arrived the host was quite rude and initially said it was impossible to accommodate us. After I showed my reservation confirmation, she acknowledged it was correct but still told us no table was available and that the only option was to sit at the bar. This was disappointing and not the experience I expected
Hawthorn was excellent as usual. Ambiance relaxing and congenial, food tasty and different, and staff professional and friendly.
Its the Fairmont so its beautiful! So festively decorated and elegant. Like anywhere though you are getting less and less but paying more and more. But what do ya do? If you want to fine, wine , and dine, be prepared to pay. Also found out valet is no longer included if you have reso at Hawthorne. $35 . Andy was very kind to take care of that one last last time :). Thankyou Andy.
Good Ambiance, excellent service and foods are delicious.Only have to wait like 30-40min.otherwise it was worthwhile.
Bad experience, terrible meal, and very overpriced. Server insulted us by assuming we didn't know the order in which to use our forks and knives. Turkey breast dinner was served warm - not hot, and lacked flavour. Desert looked like it had been sitting on a shelf the whole afternoon - sauce already had a dry layer overtop. Valet parking for dinner cost $35 + GST, and was told to wait in line at the check-in desk with the rest of the hotel guests checking in and out ,in order to pay the valet fee to get my car. A very disappointing meal. Will not eat at the Hawthorn Dining Room again.
We had the Christmas Afternoon Tea for three. I've had quite a few Afternoon Tea meals at the Palliser, and this one was not as good as the others. The scones were cold and the clotted cream was served frozen. I raved to my guests that the Palliser had the best scones in the city, and I was embarrassed having these served to us. We had a cucumber sandwich, a smoked salmon roll, an egg salad sandwich and a turkey cranberry sandwich. It would have been nice to substitute a beef sandwich for the egg salad. The desserts looked very good, but my guests said they only liked one of the selection. The Palliser was wonderful to comply with my dietary restrictions, and served me a fruit tray rather than the Tea desserts. It's good to know that they are willing to work with the customers. The teas were all delicious and served in the most beautiful tea pots. We enjoyed cranberry mimosas with our meal. It was very, very busy, with both the dining room and the foyer entry completely full of guests. We did take advantage of valet parking, but please note that the valet parking is not free with the Holiday Afternoon Tea. They were either short-staffed or were run off their feet as we had to wait 15 minutes to hand over our keys and then wait another 15 minutes after our meal to retrieve our vehicles. We will definitely go back to the Palliser for Afternoon Tea, but during the year rather than at a special occasion.
The Argugula Salad was excellent and my wife had Eggs Benedict with Ham which was excellent but the fries were cold. The room was cold at lunch time on a December day so dress warm.

Everything was good except the food. Was way over priced and it was underwhelming. So many better restaurants in Calgary.
The steak and frites were delicious, both cooked to perfection and service was excellent. We had the fresh bread rolls for an appetizer and they were warm and tasty.
We booked the restaurant, and were seated in the lounge due to an event taking up the restaurant space. It would've been preferable to have been notified of this change - especially since you can book either the restaurant or the lounge. Anyway, it was an average meal with average service, and excessively priced, small, cocktails. We won't be back in a hurry
Nice venue. There was a private event during diner service so staff were not attentive. For example, missing our orders and not topping up drinks
This was for a friend's 70th birthday celebration and the service , ambience and food was spectacular!!! That's why the Hawthorn stands out from other restaurants ! Incredibly amazing experience!
