The Truffle Fries were another highlight, served crispy with Asiago cheese, honey truffle aioli, and a garnish of microgreens.

The food is always hot and delicious, and the coffee is outstanding! I don’t eat fast food often but when I do, I choose A&W because of the vegan/vegetarian options, and all of the packaging is either recyclable or compostable, which is very important to me. This location is my favourite because of the awesome service the staff provides, (and they accept Amex!).”

They aren't big fans of burgers but they devoured these ones from Berta Burgers. My husband and I really enjoyed our poutines from bear balls along with the mountie balls and rocky mountain. “The YYC Ice Cream Fest led us to this beautiful little gem in Ramsay. The location is tiny, being in a heritage/vintage building, but really cute with tables set up outside for summer. The menu looked unique and I wanted to try it all. Instead we settled for trying the YYC fest offering which was made with so much care and attention to presentation and taste. It was delicious!! The owners were also serving and were friendly and pleasant, it was clear they put a lot of themselves into each creation. We'll be back!”

The prices are very affordable. I orded the Lobster seafood satay noodle soup, and some salad rolls. The soup was so flavorful and had 1 full large lobster tail and a small 1/2 tail. This soup was only $20. A normal seafood noodle soup was around $13, so I litterally only paid 7$ for lobster! The salad rolls were big snd fresh, and the peanut sauce was creamy & warm! I will definitely be coming back to try some other dishes.Still the best in Calgary.”

Best beef wellington I've had, the pomme puree was very tasty. The chef had asked how our meals were after we ate, she is very talented. The tableside banana's foster was delicious and a great way to cap our dinner. We were a party of 3 and all of us really felt we received great value for the price. Overall great food, cocktails and experience, with the service to match. Highly recommend this place for your next dinner outing or date night.”

Chef Darren shared that in the latest offering, 36,000 people went in and it sold out in 30 seconds. You will receive an email for dining reservations and included are instructions how to get to Eight. Located at ALT hotel at East Village in Calgary, Alberta. Complimentary underground parking. Be early, reception will send you at NUPO bar before you’ll be invited over to the secret door leading to your seat. 2. FOOD There are no words to describe the gastronomical experience this 15-course dinner (with snacks) offered. All the superlatives can be used. Fall in love with the plethora of Canadian ingredients married into the greatness Chef Darren’s mind. Well intentioned sourcing of fresh local, farm owned ingredients in your plate. Each made great with time whether it’s the reclaimed dairy cow’s beef, cured bacon goodness — it’s clear! (yum) and rich chicken broth. From east to west ingredients, indulge in what each coast brings through texture, colour and scents. It’s a win after win, one plate, one bowl at a time. 3. PAIRINGS Truly recommended to take it! Lucky! 4. AMBIENCE Low light, one bulb overhead per person highlights the food in front of you. Across is a marbled island where the action happens. It’s a cozy distance to chat with other guests to your side and still well-spaced to enjoy your spot (and your date!) Leather bar seats, metal backing art at the corner adds to the mystery feel of the eluded box. 5. STORY TELLING This is a vital part of the dining experience. Chef Darren walks through the history of ingredients and how he came up with the course. Very interesting, heartwarming and funny stories to hear. 6. SYMPHONY The smooth flow of chef, assistants and server movements : cooking, plating, serving timing, wine glass replacement and bread offering is a flawless operations at an optimum (small) space. It is a feat. 7. CERAMICS The handmade, locally made plate counts. The 24 Karat lined cup and the stacked bowl of snacks counts. It’s beautiful. Hello Quinspired Ceramics ✨ 8. A map of Canada is inserted and handwritten in each province were ingredients used that night. Overall, this was a great experience. Calgary is lucky to have Eight. Well done! Bravo Chef Darren! “I wanted to thank the owner of Congress Coffee. On October 23, I was flying to Edmonton and my flight was cancelled. The airline wasn't helpful and I was going to be delayed 24 hours. I had to "sleep" in the terminal. I took at taxi to Red Arrow in the morning and went to Congress Coffee for breakfast.
