“I spotted Greedy Donut driving down McLeod Trail and boy this place does not disappoint!I called prior to ordering and found out that they were having a promotion of 6 donuts for $21 (although this was not online and only in store so I’m relieved I called prior to ordering :)My friend and I went to the store and loved the giant blown up figure and the fun slogan; “donut worry be happy”. They even had a photo booth to take pictures-which was really neat.We ordered the following donuts;-blueberry cheesecake-milk cream-oreo cream cheese-peanut butter raspberry-strawberry-tiramisuThe blueberry cheesecake and the milk cream were the crowd pleasers, the blueberry cheesecake had a rich blueberry filling topped with a fresh blueberry and the milk cream had a subtle sweetness to it.I would say that overall the donuts were delicious and not overly sweet. The donuts at Greedy Donut are more like soft buns with a cream filling and powdered sugar and not your typical donut shape. The filling in the donut was consistent to the size.I will definitely be stopping by again to try some other flavours!“
“I HAD to write a review here as I just ate the last bite of my donair. WOW! I am honestly speechless at how delicious their donair was. The reason I’m so surprised is the location being in the random (kinda old) Beddington mall. It’s a hidden gem and secret or something I am only finding out about. First off, I LOVE donairs theyre my weakness and this is hands down probably the favourite one I’ve EVER had here in the City and I have had A LOT!!!! Bravo. I will be back. I’ll be talking you up to everyone I know. One tip is if you don’t want all the toppings, you’ve gotta ask them as they dress it up to the nines for you. Portions were wonderful but again the location is probably the only downfall. Just if you never go in the mall you’d never know it was there and man you’d be missing out!!“
“been following Tim's Cafe since 2019 and finally remembered and had the chance to come in. Food was amazing and a bang for your buck, no price gauging. Very welcoming and genuine people. We were given Banana bread and cookies as a treat on the house. Got a very homie feeling while eating as you watched them communicate with their regulars. just a overall nice neighbourhood cafe that made me miss back home. Their homemade baked goods are delicious. Don't be sleeping on this cafe, If you haven't tried it or are wanting to try it, this is a sign to go.“
“My friend had been begging me to come here for a long time and it became one of my favourite place!Their roasted pistachio ice cream is by far the best pistachio flavour than anywhere else! Why? Because it has tons of roasted pistachios in it even you can tell by looking at its colour!!With the amount of hard work and dedication they put in, this place serves high quality food.Definitely recommend this place!!“
“Kinda hidden away but an amazing gem of a coffee shop (Vietnamese based). Would highly recommend the coconut coffee or their signature Viet coffee (there is a morning and afternoon version that varies in strength/caffeine). All drinks go well hot or cold (one does not get more diluted than the other). Reasonably priced for the quality of drink and en par to most coffee shops in Calgary ($6-7). There is an ample amount of seating and it can be quiet enough for a person to read/work in most times. They serve food also and snacks (buns/donut/cupcakes) along with Vietnamese dessert like drinks. For those who like salted egg, they have a really good unique cupcake!“
“Namo takes asian fusion breakfast to another level! I really enjoyed the wide selection of food ranging from sweet to savoury, light breakfast to very hearty bowls. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the Peking Duck bowl and the Karaage Fried Chicken Bowl (see pictures below).Very unique take for breakfast/brunch, will definitely be back to try some more menu items!Parking: Parking is on the street, might be difficult to find parking on weekends“
“Love the food, drinks, and service. Splendid time there. The chairs are very comfortable, I am going to come back. I am DEFINITELY going to come back again. The atmosphere and customer service were impeccable.Kid-friendliness: Very kind and patient“
“Glad to see that Damas Cafe re-open after closing due to Covid-19. This place has the best Mediterranean food I've had and it's the only place in Canada who do fried chicken mediterranean style. The food is always fresh and tasty, especially the kebab, shawarma and falafel. The owner's enthusiasm and passion for great authentic test and quality food. I've been few times so far and it's quite clear that he takes great pride of providing customers with a quality dish every time. I wish I could eat food from here everyday. Highly recommend!“
“This coffee shop is the best in Calgary. The owners are not only the friendliest guys you’ll ever meet, they hustle to provide the best service and coffee for their customers. They go the extra mile to make you feel at home, even if all you’re getting is a coffee. Keep it up guys!“
“Great place to sit and relax. They have a large selection of tea, staff are always willing to give a recommendation if you can't decide. I love getting a large press and sitting to read or chat with a friend. They have delicious baked goods, which I believe are made in house! The orange cardamom and Earl Grey lavender cookies (both vegan) are my favs to snack on with my tea!In the summer and warm winter days, the patio in the back in a nice, normally quiet spot to sit and be outside. They have heaters if you get chilly.“

“The lunch specials are so delicious! Their Butter Chicken is by far the best I’ve ever tasted—well, besides the one my friend cooked for me lol. Excellent and friendly service—I’m guessing the owners do all the serving. Definitely recommend ?“
“First time visiting and I can’t say enough good things! Cute vibe to this small space. Warm and welcoming staff and the most delicious food! Happy to have found such a great vegan spot! Will definitely be back to try out more of the menu!Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan!Dietary restrictions: Vegan ?“
“Good food.Tasted their “World Famous Coffee Bun” to see if it’s deserving of such title. Well…it is. ☺️Cozy Atmosphere.Relaxing ambience conducive for reading and/or meeting up with friends while sipping a good cup of coffee paired with a coffee bun.A must try when you’re in the downtown area.“
“Their breakfast and brunch menu is an absolute standout. Comprising of meat, vegetarian and vegan options, all are fresh, richly flavourful and satisfying. I opted for the shakshuka with lamb sausage this visit-- it's everything I hoped for and more: a not so typical breakfast made of dreams that gives me the warm fuzzies inside. ❤️Their service is friendly and inviting. The space is clean, bright, warm, and cozy. A highly recommended place to brunch with friends. It is my new favourite, that's for sure!Vegetarian options: Many dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan.“
“I came into to Pachamama’s Soul Cafe wanting to try chitlins. As it turned out, it was one of those “nosering” joints. You know, where they look at you and you look at them, and you both figure it won’t be long for the door. Anyway, it looked nice. I tried out the swing chair. I looked at the menu. Usually, in these kinda joints the token meat item on the board was barely enough to feed a kitten. I don’t think it's fair. Most normal aka good restaurants serve a token meal for you. It looks rather flavorless if you ask me, but hey vegetarians are just omnivores who make bad choices. Most carnivores will eat a burger. Buy a George Foreman grill. You be you. I’ll be me. Leave the politics out of it. I looked at the modest menu. The smaller the menu, the better the food. There was a sign warning you that the food might take a minute. Another excellent sign of tasty food to come. You can have it good, have it fast, or you can have quality. Pick two. The place was busy’ish at 2:00 PM. Another excellent sign. Now I wanted to screw around with the staff for a while. I said “I don’t see any chitlins, is there another menu?” Eyes rolled. My wife chose the apple cheese sandwich, I had already chose the BLT Panini. But I wasn’t done screwing with the staff yet. They suggested I try the taco salad. I stared at the menu a bit. The staff looked at me and said “I think you’d like the taco salad. It’s not very spicy”. I told them that “that’s a shame because I like mine spicy”. At this point they start insisting that they can make it spicy. LIttle do they know if they said “Try the taco salad, it’s nice and spicy”. I would have just said “Oh no, I don’t care for spicy food”. Anyway, I looked at the menu. I tested the limits of her patience. She eventually asked the new fella to take over. I could tell he was new as his nose was pristine as mine. I kept screwing around until they had all caught on. I told them that “I didn’t think that they sold soul food and I better taste the soul or I’m gonna accuse them of the old bait and switch”. So me and my wife waited on their patio and enjoyed the complimentary dog. It did take a minute. But the time flew by as I watched my wife make a new friend. We swapped halves and there was soul in every bite. They gave us a couple samples. One was a beetroot humuus, bursting with both flavour and soul. There was an oatmeal square that had the sweetness dialed in perfectly. It made you want to eat more sweet without sweeting you out, if you catch my drift. They also brought a sample of a cauliflower soup with the word “emo” in the name. Jesus Christ, where do they get these people. Anyway I was fully feeling the love and looking forward to the soup. I look at my wife awestruck. She goes “yeah, I know, wow”. I went back into the restaurant and they asked me “Do we sell soul food?”. I told them “in every bite”. I told them they gave me “an itty bitty bowl with great big soul”. Was I hungry? No. My wife, no, she gave half her sandwich to the dog. I’m not sure about the dog. Probably. Was it a soul restaurant?. I say hell yeah, they sell soul by the bowl. Great place! Will I be back? Of course, I want a big bowl now.“
“On behalf of the Competitive Programming Club at the university, I'd like to thank everyone at Good Earth for catering at our competition yesterday. Not only did they provide us with some amazing coffee the entire day, but they kept an eye on us to make sure we never ran out. On top of that, they brought us the most heart-warming hot chocolate to close out the event. Huge thanks to Elisa and everyone at Good Earth!- Alan“
“Best burger and shakes place ever in calgary. Must recommend one8 cafe food to everyone. Mango shake is the best shake. Always try it with mango pulps. Deepak is so kind and polite. He gave fantastic service to us. He gave us suggestion to try mango shake and it was so good!! ?“
“Excellent sandwiches from this Italian deli. You have your choice of white or brown bread. Would highly recommend the Joe's Special and the Prosciutto. Add some roasted red peppers to the Prosciutto especially. Their lunch specials are decent as well, I usually try it if it's pasta, which is decent. But it's the sandwiches that steal the spotlight in this deli. Has a few tables and stools inside. Service is always great. I would also mention parking in the area is usually a pain in the butt, but all things considered, is very well worth it for those sandwiches.“
“CHRC is a great spot to visit in person if you live in or visit the Calgary area. Their Burnt Timber coffee became our regular beans for home while we lived in the Calgary area, and we continue to order them now that we have moved out of Alberta. It is our favourite coffee!“
“Convenient location at the Kensington area. Tasty coffee and treats. Thematic interior. Cats are in a separate room, therefore if you are an allergic person you can enjoy your coffee watching the cats through the glass barrier. Very clean. Personal controls the place to be not overcrowded to make the cats feel comfortable and not stressed out.“
“Good coffee and got a great slice of cheesecake. However the cafe is in a basement (so very little lighting) and has little decor or ambience. Also I read good reviews about their mochi bread but they didn't have them when we went on a Sunday.“
“We went to Ben's Café for breakfast this morning and are still loving it. The staff was super friendly. We had two different wraps, a bagel and banana bread and everything was fresh and simply delicious. The sauces for the wraps were also excellent. We can only recommend Ben's Café to all visitors to Calgary!Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options on the menu.“
“Came here to try their hot chocolate for the yyc hot chocolate fest, and I wasn’t disappointed. The hot chocolate was good, not something I’d get regularly, but part of the proceeds went to a good cause so I can’t complain. I was most impressed with the staff, they were extremely kind and personable, something you don’t see too often anymore. Great cafe if you’re in the area!“
“Found this shop after looking for stores that sell Yugioh cards. We had already been to a couple before this one but Metal Galaxy is definitely our favorite and within walking distance! After finding it we visit multiple times a week. The owner is also super cool, better than any other person we've met working at the other card shops as he actually knows about the different card games and talks to you. We end up buying Yugioh singles, booster packs, boxes, card sleeves, and card portfolios. They have a points system where you earn points that you can redeem for store credit when you earn enough. We earned so many points that one day we walked out with singles that we bought with just points alone. Definitely the card shop you want to be a regular at.“
“Went with a friend earlier today, we were welcomed with a friendly smile and polite greeting by one of the staff immediately, which was refreshing. Browsing the menu was easy and we were offered help promptly, though we didn’t need it. The menu sported a variety of yummy treats, drinks, snacks, and even meals, though I only tried a ginger cookie and the “Calgary fog” tea today. My friend tried the peanut butter-marshmallow square and a hot chocolate. The staff was kind enough to serve our drinks to us at the table we chose!! We were both very pleased, the drinks were lovely and the treats were tasty. The location has a busy parking lot, but overall is convenient as it’s close to transit and the parking lot may be busy but does usually have room for parking in spite of that. Despite the shop itself also being busy at times, I noticed the staff working hard to keep everyone happy, behind the counter running smoothly, and keeping the area tidy. Overall, a great little coffee shop with a lot to offer and fantastic customer service, I will definitely be returning and 10/10 would recommend!! (This review has been cross-posted.)“
“Ordered desert with my siblings and we loved the atmosphere and the overall experience, our server Daniela was very kind and patient, very good at her job and had amazing recommendations for desert on the menu, would go again. 10/10 service and food“
“Really great atmosphere, food and drinks. If I had to give one minor suggestion it would be to have actual fresh avocado on the avocado toast and breakfast sandwich. I had the avocado toast last time I was in, and I could tell it wasn't fresh avocado. The consistency and taste led me to think it came from a jar or store bought container.“
“I absolutely loved the old Sushi Crave so hadn't been back since but I finally tried it today and it was amazing, and possibly better than the original. The service was impeccable and the black dragon roll was fantastic! The atmosphere is very different and works very well with the space (think anime cafe vibe). Also love the love note chest ❤️“
“I started coming here regularly about a month ago to study for a few hours and the service here is amazing! I don't usually write reviews but this one is worth my time. The staff here are super attentive and very friendly, especially the 2 that are always on friday mornings!“
“I had a fantastic experience at Deville thanks to Lara and Joreene! They are both incredibly kind and attentive. They always remember my drink order, which I really appreciate. Their friendly service makes my visits to the coffee shop enjoyable.“
“Absolutely delicious wrap!!! As a vegan I always struggle to find good food. This place well exceeded my expectations and the service was impeccable! Will be returning when I come back to Calgary! (Got the ginger chick’un wrap and subbed beets for cucumber)“
“I don’t usually do reviews but this is exceptional. Authentic Ethiopian beans imported directly lead to one of the finest cappuccino’s I’ve had for a very reasonable price. Atmosphere and decor is on point. And the home made pistachio cookies…next level goodness.“
“Our favorite samosa place to go to. Even though takes good 30 to 40 minutes to drive there , still worth it. Crunchy full of flavor. Our personal favorites are the beef ones as it has very clean taste. I got their uncooked ones as well, but doesnt taste the same when frying at home. Highly recommended!“
“This café is simply delightful, with its cozy atmosphere and charming décor. From the snug blankets to the rustic pottery, every detail adds to the warm and inviting ambiance. And let's not forget the pastries – the croissants are light as air, and the galettes are absolutely divine. I couldn't resist ordering another portion. A truly enchanting experience!“
“There iced Americano tastes like what I normally had in Korea. The owners are so kind and the bibimbap tastes pretty good too. I go there to wait on someone, but it reminds me of a taste I had when I was a kid. I've been going there every week to do some work and while I wait.Vegetarian options: Tofu bibimbap“
“Wonderful experience as usual. Busy location but great to see. Had lunch: cup of artichoke spinach feta soup, bacon and gouda melt plus gingerbread latte. All prepared fresh, served hot and tasted great.Staff friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Seating area bright, open and plenty of seating.“
“The food and smoothies are so good, and I especially loved the turkey pesto panini! Service was also great, the lady who helped me was very kind and helpful. She said her husband owned the place and I like knowing I’m supporting a family business. Overall I highly recommend checking this place out!“
“I've been here with my girlfriend 4 times now and this place is exceptional. Truly a hidden gem! We found this place when looking for somewhere to eat after visiting the farmer's market and always try to stop by when we're in the area. Everything I've tried has been amazing like the eggs benedict, french toast, sandwiches, and bulgogi. Our favourites are the benedict and french toast. The staff is extremely nice as well! These are the types of local, family owned business I'll always try to support. Thanks for being awesome!“
“Beautiful cafe/flower shop. The lattes are amazing, and the menu is delicious and has something for all.Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options, although not all clearly labeled.Parking: Free 2hr parkingWheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair button on door and a few stairs into front entrance.“
“Cute little Japanese cafe that serves all kinds of brunch, lunch and dinner foods. They have an ayce brunch on weekends for $22 but you need to make sure to book as they fill up fast! My fav were the curry Katsu and black sesame ice cream. They also have a huge menu with foods ranging from ramen to onigiri to Bento boxes.“
“Unfortunately they use single use plastic even when you get your food and drinks to stay. Single use cups, plastic spoons, single use packages of sugar. Amazing chai and really good food at an affordable price so hoping that they get rid of the plastics.“
“Had breakfast for the 1st time. I enjoyed the vibe, the staff smile. After I ordered the breakfast special. I happen to see foccacia being packed for lunch soup. EJ was very kind to sell me a piece to try. Thanks EJ. I will come back to try more!Parking: They have enough“
“Tried this place for the first time and ordered our regular Chai Latte with Oat Milk and it was amazing! We really enjoyed it and the atmosphere was cozy. You can also tell that the baked goods look homemade and fresh. The service was fabulous! We will definitely be back!“
“I love this cafe! The vibe, service, the latte everything was superb. It’s a great location too! It’s a nice place to catch up with your friends, colleagues and even do some work if you love working from coffee shops, or simply relax and enjoy your coffee:)“
“I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering a birthday cake from Sucre for a special celebration, and I must say it was a disappointment from start to finish. The entire process, from placing the order to the delivery, left me frustrated and dissatisfied. Firstly, I ordered the cake well in advance to ensure it would be delivered on time for the birthday celebration. Unfortunately, Sucre failed to fulfill this basic expectation. The cake was not ready and to make matters worse, it was delivered frozen. This unexpected twist was not communicated beforehand, and it left me scrambling to find an alternative dessert for the celebration. Upon contacting Sucre's manager/ owner Yin Sung to express my dissatisfaction, I was met with indifference. She offered no sincere apology for the inconvenience caused and merely explained that the cakes are delivered frozen to ensure freshness. To add insult to injury, Sucre was unwilling to provide a full refund for the subpar service and the inconvenience caused. Instead, they offered a partial refund, which I found inadequate given the magnitude of the disappointment. A company that prides itself on delivering exquisite cakes should also prioritize customer satisfaction, especially when they fail to meet their own delivery commitments. In conclusion, my experience with Sucre was far from satisfactory. The late delivery of a frozen cake and the lack of a genuine apology or a full refund left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would caution others considering Sucre for special occasions to think twice and explore alternative options that prioritize both quality and customer service.“
“Cute cafe with yummy drinks. The food looked delicious, but we didn't have any this time. There is no seating in the café. It would be great if they had a chair or two for elderly or easilu fatigued people to sit on while they wait for their items to be prepared.“
“A jem of a cafe in the city. A hard working family joint that puts a lot of TLC into their establishment. Very local minded with very local products. I wish I lived closer to it, as it would be my go to coffee shop. I bring friends and family here all the time.“
“First time here, got the Pork Belly Bennie, Miso Maple Bacon Bennie, and Red Velvet Waffles.Starting with service and atmosphere, we were greeted with a friendly and energetic server in a cozy and aesthetically pleasing space. They constantly checked up on us and were familiar enough with the menu to provide sound recommendations. The café’s internal decoration was very welcoming and relaxing, although the club-like music could maybe use some reconsideration and the plants needed some extra love.As for the food itself, we loved everything from start to finish. First of all, the ability to accommodate a gluten sensitivity by replacing the bennie base was much appreciated. For the pork belly, it seemed to be slightly overcooked but the flavours were there. Having it tossed in the glaze and some additional hollandaise might elevate it even further! The Miso Maple Bacon was good although there was not much miso taste. I got it as it sounded like an interesting flavour combo but it mainly tasted like a candied maple bacon. As for the sides, the Japa Fries were great. We couldn’t tell what made the “Umami” fries deserve their name aside from the very flavourful garlic aioli dipping sauce but the fries themselves were just above-average, double-fried and salted fries.Lastly, the waffles were dense and had a nice red velvet cake texture. Great whipped cream and berry compote. The only thing we would change about the dish is to remove the bananas as it is such an overpowering flavour that completely takes away from all the good things going on.Will recommend to all my friends coming to Calgary!“
“The best cafe! Their drinks are consistently great, all of their sandwiches are amazing and made with love 100% of the time. They treat everyone like family and are even mindful of our kid's allergy! We are so lucky to have Stoop in our neighborhood.“
