“Markos is great!!!The owner is so friendly as well as the staff. Fantastic food, made with fresh local ingedients and nice to see gluten free options. We enjoyed the bbq plater, white bean soup, two salads, the bread was delicious and the cabbage rolls are the best. Enjoyed the fresh cheese and ketchup they make. Also tried 3 of the desserts, all really good.Nice relaxed atmosphere!Look forward to going back again soon!!!Parking: Lots of parking when we were there.“
“We are from MontrealAnd we accidentally bumped into Wonton King… what a pleasant surprise and a nice experience… this no frill dining room is prefect for a quick business lunch. We had the Wor Wonton and the Ginger pork… that was excellent I could have made 2 meals on that soup …lolllAll is made in house, always fresh staff is nice and attentive to your needs and questions…Definitely a place to try , go or come back“
“If you're looking for an authentic fine dining experience, Wellington's is the place. Amazing service, great wine selection, high quality food and generous portions (highly recommend the lamb). You leave feeling full and satisfied, and they truly treat you like a special guest. It's half the cost of some of the "trendier" places in town but with three times the quality. They've also had the same staff long-term, which says something about how they treat their people. Love it. Can't wait for our next visit.“
“Amazing experience. As a newly celiac person this is my fav breakfast by far. Tons of GF options, the kids loved their food. We will be back. Staff are attentive and kind. Amazing eggs benedicts.Dietary restrictions: Gluten freeKid-friendliness: High chairs“
“I always get a oaxaca bowl and it never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and happy to see you when you walk through the door. A girl who works there, i believe her name starts with an R remembers my order and she’s always so sweet. 10/10 every “
“Is a charming ice cream shop in town, offering a variety of handcrafted flavors made with locally sourced ingredients. From classic favorites to inventive creations, there's something for everyone. With friendly service and irresistible treats, it's a must-visit for any ice cream lover.“
“From start to finish, our experience was outstanding. We hosted our executives for a lunch meeting and it couldn't have been better. William, the manager, personally greeted us and assured us of his availability for anything we required, WOW!!The service was excellent, the food top-notch, and everything was so efficient. Thank you, William and the team! We look forward to hosting many more lunches there.“
“First visit to Calgary, we're walking down the Center street looking for grub. We fall upon the Local Public Eatery. Quick check up on Facebook and it's very well rated. in we went. Decor is like a Ranch meets Sports Bar. Warm and welcoming. Great staff with wonderful service. You can also play Jenga while you wait. • Good Burger but not mind-blowing. utilitarian. • VERY GOOD Onion rings. So much so, we had seconds. • My girlfriend had the Steak + Frite. The fries looked a little anemic but turned out great. crunchy but not dry and very flavourful. the steak was super tasty and was like butter in the mouth. • Accompanying sauces with the steak and the rings were also quite delicious. And we got to see a real life cowboy. In the end my mind wasn't blown, but it was far better than average and I would go again easy.“
“Wonderful. Perfect for a corporate event.Pizza AMAZING!! So much Love put into every slice. Will Order here again!!! <3Vegetarian options: All The Love for VegieDietary restrictions: Very Good About Accommodating Gluten free <3“
“My wife and I had our wedding reception at The Lake House and it truly was beautiful! The scenery and the elegance of the restaurant itself are incomparable for a wedding venue. From there we go to the food. The food was absolutely delicious and all of of our guests praised the restaurant for the amazing options they were presented along with how absolutely tasty every single bite was. From the appetizers, to the main course, to the dessert and the late night snack, every single bite was spectacular. As we continue on the accommodating and excellence of service go beyond compare. Every step of the way the team at The Lake House catered to what our wants were and offered great advice and options to make sure we landed on the right decision. When spending so much money on everything to do with a wedding it can add up and you want to make sure the value is there and that you’re not over spending on one thing vs. another. They made sure that as costs added up for us elsewhere we really saw the value while still getting an elite, exceptional, beyond compare venue that just took care of nearly everything. My wife and I live busy lives and had a baby shortly after our wedding and have repeatedly told each other since the wedding we truly owe it to the restaurant to make sure we sit down, take time and praise how truly happy we were with our experience in a review so that everyone knows and we can hopefully give them some extra business and help others have as spectacular an experience as us. Since our time there many of our guests have shared how much they loved the experience there and said that they could not think of a better place to have a wedding venue. We do live out of town so we do t get to go back as often as we’d like but our anniversary is just around the corner and we’re very excited to go back to The Lake House to enjoy this day as well. Thank you everyone at The Lake House for sharing our moment with us and making it unforgettable! We truly appreciate you!“
“We ordered food for our son's bday party from here. Firstly ,Sudha, the owner operator is a very humble and a nice person to deal with! The food was amazing and every guest appreciated the food and took it home with them! The quantity was also really good. Special shoutout for the Sambhar which was really thick and delicious!! We had a really good experience overall.“
“We had an amazing dining experience. The food was so savoury, my favourite was the shrimp toastie with the beet salad a close 2nd. What made the evening extra enjoyable was the knowledge, friendly and attentive service… our server was Kait. Truly one of the best dining experiences I have had… thanks!!“
“Just finished having lunch at their new location in Southland crossing on the lounge side with their new lounge menu. I think they are open for lunch now throughout the week. Excellent light meal choices and sharing snacks with very reasonable prices. We had the Brazilian flat bread and a couple snack items, the fried pork belly and some stuffed chicken bites with a great cheese sauce. I would highly recommend going, excellent food, place looks great and remarkable service.“
“Best vegan/vegetarian vermicelli I've ever had! Loved this place since being recommended there 2020 by a friend saying it was a great meal to take and eat in the park. This pic is what she sent me and I was sold because she's a certified foodie!I've not lived in Calgary since 2021 but it will be my first and last stop the next time in there. I recommend it to anyone going to Calgary and one time had someone drive it to me in Edmonton and it was still good!I usually ordered it to go but the one time I dined in it was a delight ??11/10 recommend! If you order delivery call them directly instead of the apps, very good serviceVegetarian options: Get their tofu vermicelli, comes with 2-3 different types of tofu, spring rolls and veg. See my picture ?“
“We went here to celebrate our friend’s birthday and it turned out really great place to have an Indian food, a great ambience and service as well. When they got to know about our friend’s birthday, they offered us some gulab jamuns and share their many personal stories. It was really inspiring for us to listen to their stories and learn about it. Hats off to the couple who run this place. I will surely come again. Thank you again for your service!!“
“What a nice surprise this place was. Excellent sushi quality. Better than many in town.Prices here are great for the quality and considering the huge increases in the prices of everything in 2024 in general. For a group of 3 (2 adults and a child), we spent approx $250 for dinner with a sake and a yam panna cotta. Not cheap, but for reference, we've spent double before and left hungry at a restaurant downtown. Here, we were full but not to the point of indigestion. Similar quality blue fin toro elsewhere in the city was $15 per piece. This place gives you 3 pieces for this same price. If all sushi is the same to you or you can't tell what is good or not (i.e. supermarket cooler sushi tastes good to you) then save your money and go to the restaurants closer to Chinook. The menu here is good. Some standard main fare and a good selection of special /unique items. The California roll, dynamite roll and miso soups were the least impressive. Everything else was wonderful. If it was not for my kiddo, I wouldn't have ordered the first 3 items. But, they were not bad at all and my kid loved them. The tempura is exceptional. Crispy, not too mich batter and flavorful. The shrimp and unagi nigiri were delicious and prepared perfectly, not mushy and also not dry nor smothered in sauce. 2 items created well above the average Calgarian Japanese restaurant standard. Oshi was well balanced, creative, and wonderfully smokey.Plating was beautiful with natural items like pretty flower petals for spota of colour. Zero plastic items was also a plus. This small restaurant is in a very basic strip mall with an underwhelming exterior. Inside it is decorated nicely in a lovely classic minimalistic design. I especially liked the very nice selection of pottery pieces used for table settings and decor accents.Good place for a small family dinner, lunch with friends, or a casual date spot. Great food but not at all pretentious. Vibe is mellow and relaxed. Service is attentive and food preparation is perfectly timed.I think if you want a truly romantic date night meal though, another place might be better unless they dim the lights for evening service. I feel it's a bit bright otherwise. For eating out with a large group, I'd recommend calling in advance so they can move some tables and seats together.Hopefully, this restaurant will stay around. It's a very good one. We'll make an effort to be back whenever we visit South Calgary.Parking: You may have to walk a short distance, but it's a big parking lot that always has room. Just fills up closer to all the store fronts.“
“We had a fantastic experience here! I can’t believe I live just a few blocks away and had never been. We had salad rolls, the beef jerkey, Tom Kha soup, pad see ew and Massaman Ribs. Everything was 10/10 and the service was just as good - lovely staff, very attentive and friendly. Would absolutely recommend and we’ll definitely be back!!“
“I ordered Lamb Korma and Garlic Butter Naan Bread through Skip The Dishes today. Lamb Korma is awesome and mouthwatering. The meat doesn’t have any gamy taste unlike any other Indian restaurants that I tried. The naan bread is a little bit burned, too small and too thin for its price. But after all , Its all worth of my money. :)“
“Best steak sandwich I've had can't go wrong with a ribeye cut! Caesar salad was excellent and baked potato delicious. waiter on the ball and pleasant asked if our meals were to our liking. Ambiance is what you expect from a steakhouse that's been an iconic landmark for decades.“
“Their basic cheese pizza and hawaiian pizza is enough to make us keep coming back.SJ and the rest of the crew are hard at work with smiles on their face everytime we come by the store.Definitely our go to pizza place along mainstreet Bowness!“
“We enjoyed every single bite of the three pizzas we ordered! So cheesy and delicious, full of fresh ingredients and piping hot. Highly recommend checking out Crispy Crust for your next Friday night pizza or family gathering. We'll be back for sure!!“
“Brought my pals from Victoria to see Zoo! on the 9th of Feb.As always, friendly service, food was great.(That band was really good, dialed right in.)If you're in yyc, staying downtown, and want a real Calgary food/live music experience, go to Inglewood. It's close (within a 2km taxi-ride from Stephen Ave / 30 min. walk), easy to get back to your hotel after. Call for resos though, we were lucky.“
“Visited with my family and enjoyed well prepared and served North Indian Food. Loved Shahi Paneer, Vegetables Biryani, Methi Mutter Malai, Naan and other items. I have been to many places in Calgary and this is the only place where I foundI good and tasty North Indian Food.“
“I went here today for lunch with my boyfriend. I am severely allergic to gluten and sometimes when I eat out my throat starts to close up and So I avoid going out. This was an absolute treat for me, our food came out hot and very delicious, I never get so many options as I'm strictly gluten free. Very kind young woman was working and she was an absolute sweetheart! Definitely gonna be a permanent date spot for us! Not to mention the plants and the cleanliness of the restaurant! I left with a genuine smile plastered on my face.If you are ever looking for authentic Venezuelan food please give this place a try!“
“I enjoyed my dinner here but I feel it could use some improvements. The hostess was amazing and the server was friendly but seemed nervous, got the specials mixed up and stood next to our table during down times which was awkward. The artichoke dip and bread was delicious but only came with 4 triangles for 4 people. 2/3 of the dip was left so we asked for more bread. Please ensure there are at least 2 pieces of break per person. We weren't sure how we were supposed to finish the dip The duck 2 ways was the star of the dinner. Beautifully cooked, gnocchi could be its own dish and veg and sauce was perfect. The stuffed chicken was cooked perfectly but the stuffing lacked flavour. The 2 other guests said you couldn't taste the ham or mushrooms. The potato pave was a nice change from the norm The tapioca dessert lacked flavour. The non tapioca parts were the best Ginger cake was amazing. Very refreshing with a lot of fruit. * note the table had trouble reading the dessert menu. You may be quick to say “are they dumb” but having the title on the right hand side and the ingredients underneath was an issue. Our senior with us thought the ingredients were different desserts as did someone with us with a learning disability. We can't be the only table with this issue. Drinks were good and great value compared to other places Overall I would come again when the menu changes. It's a great learning environment but definitely needs some tweaks“
“March 2023: This was our first time ordering from Glamorgan Bakery. We ordered a half chocolate, half vanilla cake with cream cheese icing. Not only was the cake perfectly decorated with a school bus buttercream transfer we requested for my sons birthday, but it was DELICIOUS! A bunch of our guests commented on how delicious it was and asked where we got it from. You could tell it was made with quality ingredients. I usually hate store-bought cakes. We will definetly be ordering cakes from here in future!November 2023. Our second Glamorgan birthday cake was just as beautiful and delicious as the first!March 2024: Another perfectly decorated cake!“
“This was some damn good pizza that was priced fairly and often better when compared to other local pizza shops I've tried. Staff seemed nice and was surprised to see the man the myth & the legend Howie himself there at the front counter, he was friendly with some neighborhood kids that were having an issue with their payment and his staff seemed interested in conversing with him, which makes me feel like he's probably a good guy to work for.“
“We regularly order both for home meals and catering for our work meetings from them. Every time the food is fresh and a big hit with the Team. They are also really accommodating and helpful with last minute orders. The people running this place are fantastic. Highly recommend!“
“What a charming space! The Kensington Pub is super cozy and nicely decorated. It feels like you’re in a friendly village and you’re in the local pub. We ate upstairs and had great service! Our breakfast included the Full English breakfast add black pudding, the KP Eggs Benny over Yorkies, and the Scotch Eggs. Scotch eggs could’ve been more heavily seasoned for our personal preferences!Great value for what you get, awesome service, and a really neat atmosphere. Would come back again!“
“Smoked Meat Sandwiches!!!!The smoked meat sandwiches are so tasty. All the staff are super friendly, and the classic deli setting is so relaxing.Bonus - wifi is great if you need to get some remote work done!Dietary restrictions: They make Gluten Free Sanidwiches!“
“Excellent sandwiches from this Italian deli. You have your choice of white or brown bread. Would highly recommend the Joe's Special and the Prosciutto. Add some roasted red peppers to the Prosciutto especially. Their lunch specials are decent as well, I usually try it if it's pasta, which is decent. But it's the sandwiches that steal the spotlight in this deli. Has a few tables and stools inside. Service is always great. I would also mention parking in the area is usually a pain in the butt, but all things considered, is very well worth it for those sandwiches.“
“All you need to know if they have the best pork belly in the city! Crack and Cauliflower is delicious! 5-⭐️ delicious! The crackling is crunchy and flavourful. The cauliflower has a great crunch and spice to it. I don’t know what they do to the rice but it’s amazing too! And it’s all gluten-free. Completely worth the visit to the Avenida Food Market.Vegetarian options: The cauliflower by itself or with rice is a meal itself.Dietary restrictions: The menu is gluten-free.“
“Amazing establishment, Morgan is a phenomenal bartender. From cocktail Classics To originals, she will certainly take care of your every need. Curating our night with the perfect cocktails was breathtaking. I request to end the night on a bourbon cocktail that felt like dessert and was greeted with a personalized cocktail, curated by Morgan herself, called an infinity scarf wrap with a warmth of cinnamon and bourbon with a slight sweetness that ended the night on the perfect note-Carleen“
“Best chicken fingers ever! You wouldn't even know they're gluten-free. And they're oven-baked so no nasty seed oils! I might actually go broke buying these chicken strips ?Their pizzas are equally delicious. If you have a gluten allergy or intolerance you MUST try Avatara!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free“
“I filled the price on the expensive side for macaroons and Natas (especially that they are brought in frozen). Being from Montreal, I understand there are more Brazilians over here so obviously fresher options for Natas. I was trying to get inspired at the cash to purchase some pastries for a meeting that I was attending. I wanted to bring my guests some fresh pastries, and it felt slightly awkward at the cash conversing with the cashier. Firstly, the parking situation is weird. I’m still confused whether it’s free or you need to register. I was simply going in and out with my order and felt really confused whether I should register the car or not. The two boxes that you see from the pictures ended up costing over $60, woah! I didn’t have any myself, but I hope my meeting attendees enjoyed them.“
“So I visited this restaurant again today and ordered this burger. Let me tell you this, the burger was awesome, and it came in large portion. I've been coming here for the past one year and I am really impressed with what this restaurant has to offer. I've tried most of their menu, and overall their food is great. The staff is friendly and they explain the menu thoroughly if you have any doubts. The atmosphere is in general gives cozy vibes. I usually bring my friends to this place and they love it here. My suggestion is that if you're looking for great vegan and vegetarian options, then this is the PLACE To GO in Calgary. Here's the photo of burger that I had today.“
“Amanda was lovely! We had the Korean cauliflower and the Landing Burger! The food was fresh and very tasty! Very cool vibe. Would definitely recommend!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options available.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free bun option available.“
“If you are looking for a fresh, wholesome, delicious burger that is worth your money look no further! Their burgers are super tasty and you can pick your bun, sauce and toppings. Lots of options for vegetarian and halal too! I stopped by with my husband and I had a mushroom and swiss burger. The burger was perfectly cooked and juicy. Their fries were home made (yes, real potatoes!!) and abundant. Looking forward to stop by again and try a different burger!Vegetarian options: Plenty Vegetarian and Halal!“
“Food and drinks were great, as always. I ordered steak and shrimp - Creole style this time and surely did not disappoint . It was perfectly cooked with a nice kick of spicyness. Also the best Sangria I've ever had. Next time we will request an extra scoop of the vanilla ice cream to the Lava cake. Zack was fantastic, very cheerful and you can tell he likes what he's doing with the fun character he adds with his service! Thank you!Parking: Sufficient parking space“
“We were there on a Saturday night with our son and daughter-in-law and had reservations. We had to wait 25 minutes past our reservation time. The roads were really bad so a lot of customers arrived late and so customers were backed up. However as soon as we were seated the waitress apologized and brought us warm bread. She took our appetizer and drink orders. Then immediately the manager came by and apologized once again and said he would give us our cocktails or appetizers in the house. Service and food were excellent and the manager returned at the end of our meal to make sure everything was ok. Food was excellent! I had the salmon and everyone else had Keg specials. I would definitely return. Thanks for the great evening!!“
“The food was great. Perfectly basted eggs...which is hard to do! I didn't try the coffee but my friends enjoyed it. The bacon with my breakfast order was also perfectly cooked - crispy but not too crispy. I highly recommend Benny's for brunch if you are in the area.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options were available“
“We went to celebrate my friend's intimate wedding. The food and service was really good. I'm not sure if I like the ambience because it's dark inside but I guess that's the theme they are going for. I really enjoyed the Calamari and Miner's pie.“
“A great place, service is top notch. The food is delicious and well presented. It might be the season, but it was a lot of very rich "bass note" type foods. Great stuff but a touch overwhelming in that respect. If you're getting flowers delivered though, be aware they might not be on the table when you get there... disappointing but they came through in the end.“
“Where is the option for 70 billion stars? My husband and I had the most incredible dining experience EVER. From the first bite to the last, we were completely blown away with the quality and presentation. Our server Jamie was attentive and an absolute gem.Honestly, the most delicious plates we have ever had. We will be back, tomorrow… haha“
“I absolutely loved the old Sushi Crave so hadn't been back since but I finally tried it today and it was amazing, and possibly better than the original. The service was impeccable and the black dragon roll was fantastic! The atmosphere is very different and works very well with the space (think anime cafe vibe). Also love the love note chest ❤️“
“It was really the best Desi pizza till the date in ne area We tried Veg garlic chilli paneer and it tasted like real Indian pizza. Totally worth of price. For 2 person, large size is sufficient,It has become my go to place now.It was really the best Desi pizza till the date in ne area We tried Veg garlic chilli paneer and it tasted like real Indian pizza. “I've eaten here multiple times and it's consistently delicious. It's abound 20$ for a large shawarma wrap and a drink, which is more then enough to fill you up. I personally find the bite size plate to be my favorite dish they serve.“
“Dining at Cassis Bistro is a special experience. The service is exceptional and memorable. The food is their craft and passion; you will want to savor every single bite. The ambiance and music transport you to France... I always leave Cassis never wanted to go to another restaurant!“
“I love the cookies & cream and strawberry flavors; they perfectly matched their names. The lemon curd blueberry was okay.I saw many people recommend the sea salt goat milk caramel, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I personally didn't enjoy it as much.“
“This place is in a weird spot, and I wish they had more open days. However, despite all of that. I love the people who work there, they’re so accommodating, kind and flexible. They were willing to stay open a bit late so I could pick up an order after hours. Their donuts are great, very unique flavours. The texture of the donuts is very chewy and soft! It was also very busy. If you want some of these donuts, I highly recommend ordering ahead of time. It was an extremely snowy day when I went there, I even got into a minor car accident and yet I still pushed forward to get these donuts. There was a line up on this snowy day too! They’re that good and their service is great!“
