“Kinda hidden away but an amazing gem of a coffee shop (Vietnamese based). Would highly recommend the coconut coffee or their signature Viet coffee (there is a morning and afternoon version that varies in strength/caffeine). All drinks go well hot or cold (one does not get more diluted than the other). Reasonably priced for the quality of drink and en par to most coffee shops in Calgary ($6-7). There is an ample amount of seating and it can be quiet enough for a person to read/work in most times. They serve food also and snacks (buns/donut/cupcakes) along with Vietnamese dessert like drinks. For those who like salted egg, they have a really good unique cupcake!“
“I wanted to thank the owner of Congress Coffee. On October 23, I was flying to Edmonton and my flight was cancelled. The airline wasn't helpful and I was going to be delayed 24 hours. I had to "sleep" in the terminal. I took at taxi to Red Arrow in the morning and went to Congress Coffee for breakfast. After listening to my story, the owner gave me breakfast and a coffee free of charge. It was a very kind gesture after a very challenging evening. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.“
“Ordered few times online but every time forget to click pictures. Heres my all time favourite order from them - Hidden Gem . Molten choco lava inside a crepe with lots of fruits and an ice cream on the side. I like it without the ice cream though- an absolute CLASSIC.“
“We (my husband, my two dogs, and I) are traveling through Canada in a Volkswagen T4 and are always on the lookout for great treats. We weren't disappointed here! The coffee tasted great, and my cinnamon roll was excellent. My husband had the Vegan Sausage Baguette, which was also very, very tasty! The service was super friendly and once again honored Canadian kindness! “A nice coffee shop in Bowness. After and day of errands and shopping, we stopped here for a break. Orders are placed at the counter and taken out or eaten in. Staff was friendly, though it took a couple of minutes for them to stop chatting and attend to us at the counter. The drinks were good and we shared an apple turnover which was fine. The interior is interesting. Along with tables, there are a couple of places where you can sit on a swing at your table. They also have games available to play. The couple next to us were engrossed in a game of UNO. A nice place and we will return in the future.“
“My friend had been begging me to come here for a long time and it became one of my favourite place!Their roasted pistachio ice cream is by far the best pistachio flavour than anywhere else! Why? Because it has tons of roasted pistachios in it even you can tell by looking at its colour!!With the amount of hard work and dedication they put in, this place serves high quality food.Definitely recommend this place!!“
“Convenient location at the Kensington area. Tasty coffee and treats. Thematic interior. Cats are in a separate room, therefore if you are an allergic person you can enjoy your coffee watching the cats through the glass barrier. Very clean. Personal controls the place to be not overcrowded to make the cats feel comfortable and not stressed out.“
“On behalf of the Competitive Programming Club at the university, I'd like to thank everyone at Good Earth for catering at our competition yesterday. Not only did they provide us with some amazing coffee the entire day, but they kept an eye on us to make sure we never ran out. On top of that, they brought us the most heart-warming hot chocolate to close out the event. Huge thanks to Elisa and everyone at Good Earth!- Alan“
“definitely on the pricier side, but i am in love with this place, u get more than what you pay for and unmatched quality and experience.everyone on the team is so kind and passionate, they even have subscriptions for their amazing beans which is more economical, but i love hurting my bank account just so i can visit.favourite spot in yyc“
“Love the desserts here, I've had the red velvet cake, the lotus biscoff cheesecake and the strawberry cheesecake and veggie pizza. All were very delicious and they give you such huge portions. You can even get take out too!I might suggest a no solicitations sign to help with random people coming in asking patrons for food, which did end up happening on my second last visit there.“
“The food was really good. I loved eating the stuffed frencb toast and my milkshake tasted soo good. The service at the desk wasnt so great because she wasnt friendly however the server who attended to us while we were seated made it worthwhile. She was nice and friendly and made sure we had a good time. Place is bustling but food still came out on time which was great. I would recommend to anyone“
“I love the cookies & cream and strawberry flavors; they perfectly matched their names. The lemon curd blueberry was okay.I saw many people recommend the sea salt goat milk caramel, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I personally didn't enjoy it as much.“
“I filled the price on the expensive side for macaroons and Natas (especially that they are brought in frozen). Being from Montreal, I understand there are more Brazilians over here so obviously fresher options for Natas. I was trying to get inspired at the cash to purchase some pastries for a meeting that I was attending. I wanted to bring my guests some fresh pastries, and it felt slightly awkward at the cash conversing with the cashier. Firstly, the parking situation is weird. I’m still confused whether it’s free or you need to register. I was simply going in and out with my order and felt really confused whether I should register the car or not. The two boxes that you see from the pictures ended up costing over $60, woah! I didn’t have any myself, but I hope my meeting attendees enjoyed them.“
“I started coming here regularly about a month ago to study for a few hours and the service here is amazing! I don't usually write reviews but this one is worth my time. The staff here are super attentive and very friendly, especially the 2 that are always on friday mornings!“
“Great place to sit and relax. They have a large selection of tea, staff are always willing to give a recommendation if you can't decide. I love getting a large press and sitting to read or chat with a friend. They have delicious baked goods, which I believe are made in house! The orange cardamom and Earl Grey lavender cookies (both vegan) are my favs to snack on with my tea!In the summer and warm winter days, the patio in the back in a nice, normally quiet spot to sit and be outside. They have heaters if you get chilly.“
“Tried this place for the first time today on recommendation by a friend. Was pleased to see a great many options to try from. Sattu Kachori was the amazing and so were the pan falooda and rose falooda. Service is great as well. Will definitely be going their againDietary restrictions: Mild spicy options available“
“Mmmm, what a perfect slice of za!!! We ordered the New Yorker with mushrooms. OMG!!! The way the fire curls up the edges of the pepperoni. Creating the perfect salty/spicy bite each time. OMG!!! ??The oh, so perfectly foldable seasoned crust. We went on a Thursday and had a bottle of wine for 25% off. What a perfect combination. We will definitely return. Is it Thursday yet?!“
“We enjoyed our time so much! The server was lovely and we had great food and drinks. The music was loud enough we weren't distracted by conversations around us but could still enjoy our own. The atmosphere was laid back and yet attentive.“
“As the owner of Women Talk, I've been hosting events at YYC Pasta Bar, both at their Kensington location throughout 2023 and recently at their Douglasdale location on January 8, 2024. Our events have been held in their private dining rooms, which have consistently offered an exceptional experience, meriting my highest recommendation. The private dining rooms at YYC Pasta Bar, whether in Kensington or Douglasdale, provide the perfect blend of intimacy and elegance essential for the success of our gatherings. The ambiance in these secluded spaces is just right, offering a comfortable and engaging environment for our guests. What stands out at YYC Pasta Bar, irrespective of the location, is the extraordinary service. The staff are wonderfully professional and personable, ensuring that our events run smoothly and every guest feels attended to, even with a larger crowd. The highlight, of course, is the food. The pasta dishes at YYC Pasta Bar are delicious and very well-priced. Each dish, crafted with fresh ingredients and a flair for flavour, caters to a wide range of dietary preferences. The consistency in the quality and presentation of their food across both locations is truly impressive. Choosing YYC Pasta Bar for our events has been a delightful decision. Their commitment to providing top-notch service, exquisite cuisine, and accommodating diverse dietary needs in their private dining rooms is truly commendable. Whether it's for a group event or a personal dining experience, YYC Pasta Bar has proven to be a culinary gem. I'm looking forward to organizing more events in their welcoming and elegant spaces.“
“Good coffee and got a great slice of cheesecake. However the cafe is in a basement (so very little lighting) and has little decor or ambience. Also I read good reviews about their mochi bread but they didn't have them when we went on a Sunday.“
“The other day I ordered a matcha latte from the great people at Good Earth and I was pleasantly surprised. This wasn't my first matcha latte however I do have to admit this is the first one that I said wow after drinking. Not to mention they did some good work on the latte art. Also, the selection of baked goods and teas is quite impressive as well. Great job!“
“I don’t usually do reviews but this is exceptional. Authentic Ethiopian beans imported directly lead to one of the finest cappuccino’s I’ve had for a very reasonable price. Atmosphere and decor is on point. And the home made pistachio cookies…next level goodness.“
“I absolutely adore this little hidden gem! The food is always great, the atmosphere is so cozy, and I love that they’re always adding more options to the menu. I don’t identify as a vegan/plant based, but I love to try new food, and I’m always blown away by DayDreams creations. Im obsessed with their flora fromage cheese, the Dagwood sandwich, the banana confit toast and the truffle Mac and cheese. If you haven’t tried this place yet, what are you waiting for?“
“I called asking about a boxing glove cake and it was made exactly like I imagined. It was sooo beautiful that the birthday boy wouldn’t cut it. He said it was too beautiful to cut. We never tasted it but I can only imagine how yummy the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling would’ve been.Thank you sooo much for making us sooo happy! We will come to order the same cake ???except not a boxing glove so we can actually eat it. ❤️❤️❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️???????????????Parking: It’s a tiny parking lot and a busy building. There is underground but who wants to go underground when you only need to go in for a few minutes to do a pickup!“
“I haven't tried much of the food, unfortunately. However, their strawberry latte would have to be one of my favorite drinks, being a huge strawberry fan. The latte's also weren't bad and I can't wait to try more of the menu. Service was great, and the cashier was really kind. Will definitely be back! ?!“
“Love the cozy ambiance of the place. Feels warm and inviting. Service was good, but slow at times. Waited a long time to get our bill after we were finished and everything had been cleared. Appts were great, chicken parm was very crispy and delicious. Didn't love the linguine, but don't expect to love everything everywhere we go. Will go back to try some other dishes.“
“It’s a funky little thrown together cottage type place but it’s comfy and friendly. Clean and warm. Love the board games and menu. I didn’t get the full story of what was all going on. There’s so many decorations everywhere people’s plaques and signs get lost.Dietary restrictions: They had non dairy milk options.Parking: It’s at the end of a random road right now. But it’s not hard to find. It’s at the end of the parking lot.“
“I was really excited to try this restaurant. Because one of my friend recomended that this restaurant's bakery is good. I visited that restaurant on weekday but there were many people who enjoyed bruch. The server didn't assign me to the seat, so I looking for an empty seat.My first impression of this restaurant was that it's very fancy. The atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel good.I odered chicken sandwich that served with today's soup. I could choose between the two soups, so I chose mushroom soup and it was very good. Sandwich was also very delicious. The sauce of the sandwich was very good and I wanted to buy the bread of the sandwich separately. My friend who went with me ordered an omelette, but the sandwich was better than the omelette. If you want to have a warm atmosphere and a delicious sandwich, I recommend this restaurant.“
“We went here for lunch and it was so good! I had chili and toast, also tried the nut and honey latte. I bought a few baked goods to have for dessert later at home, my family loved the cinnamon buns, brownies and the blondie. Service was great, the person who took our order looked up food items to make sure no nuts in the baked goods (for peanut allergy), and had some good recommendations. I was also impressed with how large it is , lots of seating. I would definitely come back again.“
“Of all the bike shops I have visited in the city, it is the one I liked the most, the attention is good, it has a cool and relaxed atmosphere, you can drink coffee and beer :) I give it a 10/10 !!!! We are looking for bicycles to start and they have helped us a lot with the guidance on what we need! An incredible store“
“Unfortunately they use single use plastic even when you get your food and drinks to stay. Single use cups, plastic spoons, single use packages of sugar. Amazing chai and really good food at an affordable price so hoping that they get rid of the plastics.“
“Went with a friend earlier today, we were welcomed with a friendly smile and polite greeting by one of the staff immediately, which was refreshing. Browsing the menu was easy and we were offered help promptly, though we didn’t need it. The menu sported a variety of yummy treats, drinks, snacks, and even meals, though I only tried a ginger cookie and the “Calgary fog” tea today. My friend tried the peanut butter-marshmallow square and a hot chocolate. The staff was kind enough to serve our drinks to us at the table we chose!! We were both very pleased, the drinks were lovely and the treats were tasty. The location has a busy parking lot, but overall is convenient as it’s close to transit and the parking lot may be busy but does usually have room for parking in spite of that. Despite the shop itself also being busy at times, I noticed the staff working hard to keep everyone happy, behind the counter running smoothly, and keeping the area tidy. Overall, a great little coffee shop with a lot to offer and fantastic customer service, I will definitely be returning and 10/10 would recommend!! (This review has been cross-posted.)“
“Whenever I am in market mall I will stop by this second cup to get a cup of coffee. I drink my coffee black and there various brewed coffees taste really good. A large cup is on the pricier side but compared to Starbucks these guys are way better.Service is great and they are quick to help customers.“
“Secret awesome spot! Eclectic mix of classics & dishes with of wonderful Indian influence. Serves breakfast options until 1pm. Excellent omelette cooked perfectly. My mom had the fish pakoras with coleslaw - wow, so good! Outside dinning area right across from the river. Happy little discovery.“
“I love Phil’s. The 80s decor, the choice of three pancake syrups, the carafe of coffee. It’s easy to relax into the large booths as you start your morning.Always fast and efficient service. They have your classic seen-it-all diner waitresses which adds to the experience. This is not a gourmet experience, but rather a diner breakfast that is exceptionally consistent and filling. It’s not a wildly good value, but not outrageously expensive either. The senior citizens who frequent it understand. This spot is no fuss, get what you pay for, breakfast food.I will say I’ve never eaten a meal other than breakfast here. Maybe one day. But as long as there’s chubbies and eggs with a choice of two sides (cottage cheese and a buckwheat pancake, please) I can’t imagine going for any other meal.Dietary restrictions: Phil’s can accommodate gluten-free.Parking: Usually lots of parking lot spots.“
“I had a fantastic experience at Deville thanks to Lara and Joreene! They are both incredibly kind and attentive. They always remember my drink order, which I really appreciate. Their friendly service makes my visits to the coffee shop enjoyable.“
“Friendly, easy going , intelligent staff. My meeting place of choice. My friends walked in with 3 acoustic guitars yesterday and they started playing the most excellent Mexican music. Staff were so accommodating without being asked. Customers loved it , staff loved it and even filmed som3 of it. Trivium, played there for a little while and we all had fun. Many Thanks to Starbucks Deer Run for not just being in the community, but for being part of the community, and that’s what it’s all about. Thank You again. God bless.“
“I am a frequent patron of this particular branch of Deville. Their service is exemplary, with polite and friendly staff. Despite having other coffee shop in that area, none can match the offering of this establishment. I particularly enjoy indulging in their Vanilla Latte and Veggie Wrap and some staff members familiar with this addiction of mine but I can't help it.“
“I was visiting from Edmonton and was able to enjoy both dinner and brunch from Primary Colours in the same weekend. The presentation and taste were both exceptional. I really appreciated the variety of options and the coffee was topnotch! I recommend trying a little bit everything, you won't be disappointed. This has officially become my new favourite restaurant and a must visit whenever in Calgary.“
“The barista was so nice and helpful! The pastries were delicious (almond croissant, cookie and a spinach and feta pastry) and flakey. I asked about gluten free options for a friend and staff was so educated and honest, they had gluten free but couldn’t guarantee it had never been touched by flour, it was so nice to have that information as my friend is extremely sensitive. Overall a 10/10“
“Had an amazing treat Here today! Really appreciated the service as they weren't technically open due to the snow and cold weather, but they opened up for us when they saw us lurking outside trying to get ice cream! Food was delicious but service was 6/5 stars. Thank you!“
“We went today it is beautiful and the staff including Chef super nice and sweet. Loved our grilled cheese sandwiches. We tried different ones Bardot and gourmet. I enjoyed my mocha . Thank you Chef and team. Will visit again. Must try . Highly recommend this cafe to my vegetarian friends. So many options. Thank you so much ?“
“This place is great! I got in expecting a regular pharmacy and ended up with so much more than just a pharmacy. Amazing place. What surprised me is that they sell Hayley Williams’ hair dye products, Good Dye Young. They are super hard to find in Canada and I had never seen them in person in my life. So awesome!!!“
“With my dietary restrictions I can hardly eat out but I could eat most things on the menu, everything was so delicious, staff were kind and friendly in a clean environmentDietary restrictions: So many options for vegan, gluten free and veg.“
“I Was there for the 1st time, few days back to attend a friend’s singing ?Nice cute, quiet place in the heart of businesses, food was great.Servers were 2 nice and friendly girls.Ordered non alcoholic beer ? and their special pizza ? and soup ?Great place“
“Called in to ask for a candle with my cake order and Jing was just an angel! She offered to write a handwritten note and when we received the cake it came with the most beautiful bouquet of pink roses! Such a touching and lovely gift, completely unexpected. This shop goes above and beyond and has the tastiest desserts (try the bingsoo as well- it’s incredible!). Thank you again for being such a special part of our celebration today!“
“Rosso probably has my favorite coffee and pastries among all the third wave coffee shops in Calgary. My only critique is that the service isn't the greatest. The staff are generally inattentive, sound bored, and aren't too helpful when asked questions (for example, ingredients in the food). I like how staff isn't too fussy - kind of like Tim Hortons in service.“
“Excellent coffee and elegant, delicious desserts. Friendly, professional staff. Spacious room. Ample parking. Annoying machinery noise. They used to play accessible jazz and other lovely music that matched so nicely with the Eiffel Tower on the wall. The last few times they've played meh country music, which has ruined the ambience. Too bad. Not charming enough to return. Sorry.“
“Truly some of the best coffee in Calgary. The food is delicious and everything is shockingly affordable. I love that it's obvious how much the owner loves his job and loves coffee. The seasonal menu is always incredible and full of new and interesting things to try.“
“Everything we’ve had from this bakery is incredible . Hands down one of the best bakeries in the city of Calgary! If you have not tried one of their loaves of bread or pastries you’re truly missing out . Their “daily bread “ and jalapeño cheese bagels are outta this world . I guarantee you try either , you will be back for more !“
