“The best cafe I have been in Calgary.

The mango-coconut muffin and the latte, just amazing. The muffin especially, was perfectly sweet, which brought out the flavours so well. The mango filling in the middle and the mango chunks in there, just heavenly. Such a great ambience. Super clean, great service. While I was here, I felt like everything my eyes fell on was put there with so much care and purpose. It’s so great to be in a place that someone has put together with so much passion for the work they do. Because the entrance to the cafe is not through the front, but through a side door past a main door, anytime someone opens the door you are not startled by the road noise. As someone who loves to be in places with minimal noise interruptions, I really appreciate the tiny little bell when the door opens. It just makes the sweetest little ‘ting’ as compared to the loud electronic‘TING TONG’. The song was played on the perfect volume too, not overwhelming the space at all. A more selfish part of me wants to keep this cafe a secret for just myself. But a better part of me wants everyone to know. And an amazing cafe like this makes me want to get a loudspeaker out and just scream out the great things about this place, till everyone gets Frida’s mango muffins.“

“I have tried a lot of matcha in Calgary and surrounding area but Cafe Eight takes the top spot for my favourite matcha outside of Japan! They are always consistent and reliably delicious. Just look at that colour! The staff are friendly and welcoming, as is the clean modern decor. I highly recommend the iced strawberry or mango matcha. And thank you to the owner for reminding my husband that I like it with oat milk! ☺“

“so so so yummy!!!! i came in with my whole family and we tried many different sandwiches. all of them were so amazing (the grilled cheese was the best). we also all got drinks and their coffees are really good, matcha too! just be sure to stir ur drink when u get it since most of our syrup was at the bottom. super cute space too!“

I asked about gluten free options for a friend and staff was so educated and honest, they had gluten free but couldn’t guarantee it had never been touched by flour, it was so nice to have that information as my friend is extremely sensitive. Overall a 10/10“

“This coffee shop was SO cute and definitely one of those places we just happened to stumble across—and I’m so glad we did!

The coffee was great, and the breakfast sandwich I got was SO yummy! But what really caught my attention was one of their specialty drinks that had banana milk in it. I had never tried anything like it before, so of course I had to give it a try!

The banana milk gave the drink almost a smoothie-like texture, which was definitely unique, but the flavor worked surprisingly well with the coffee! It was such a fun combination and something I’d definitely order again.

I love finding little coffee shops like this when traveling, especially when they have something different that you don’t see everywhere. If you’re looking to try something new or want to stumble across a cute little coffee spot, I definitely recommend giving this place a try!“

The space was cozy and that strawberry cheesecake was a little slice of heaven in your mouth. Our barrister, didnt take her name was so accommodating and great. You can buy a $50 candle, get a great drip coffee, send a letter, pick up your prescriptions, and buy KD for $1. Nice staff and lots of cool stuff lol“
