“For anyone living in the North, I wanted to share a gem that my family and I have found in Harvest Hills. We have tried so many items and love every single thing. Every type of bread (whole wheat, white, chocolate), cheese buns, muffins, meat pies, hot dog buns, meat buns, croissants, pies, cookies, I could go on and on. “Vicki did the donuts for our wedding dessert and they were absolutely amazing! The guests raved about how delicious they were and almost everyone went back for seconds- we over ordered and assumed we would go home with leftovers but there was barely a crumb left by the end of the night! After getting a dozen to try out different flavors, we chose: strawberry, cinnamon sugar, chocolate pretzel and maple. They were all so delicious. Vicki was excellent to work with and so responsive over email for all of our needs. We also rented the donut wall and platters from pretty sweet which made everything look so cute! Best choice ever!“

“As a vegan baking enthusiast myself, I often struggle to find quality baked goods or cakes in Calgary. Kashew bakery is simply the best, even on a global level! Nothing I've ever had anywhere else comes close to what this bakery makes. I read somewhere that the owner is a German master baker, which explains a lot. You can tell how the ingredients are carefully selected and crafted into a delicacy that anyone - whether vegan, gluten-free, or omnivore, can enjoy. They harmonize and not only provide the right texture but also full flavors, something that can be a challenge when it comes to baking plant-based. My absolute favorite are the Almond Croissants, they're scrumptions and I'm so glad they're sold at all Lina's locations these days.

“I really like this place! Went in for a Vietnamese sub. They did a great job of that, made quick and a great price too. I returned and bought some of their french bread and that was also awesome, the crust is nice and thin and not chewy, and the bread itself holds its moisture really well when toasted. Next trip I had to try their pies and desserts and I was again impressed. This place is great and they've earned a repeat customer!“

“We love cobs bread. Come very often. The cinnamon bread is so delicious as well as the cheese pull apart bread. My kids love the ham and cheese croissants for breakfast or even for snack. I do wish they still had the sprinkle fun buns, they were so fun for younger kids. The samples are always wonderful. The staff is extremely happy and helpful.“

“Butter Block Cafe is a true gem for pastry and coffee enthusiasts! From the moment you walk in, the cozy and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. We indulged in their Almond Croissant and Pandan Coconut pastry, and both were absolute perfection. The Almond Croissant was flaky, buttery, and filled with a delicious almond paste that was just the right amount of sweet. The Pandan Coconut pastry was a delightful surprise, with its unique flavor profile and perfectly balanced sweetness.

To accompany our pastries, we tried the tasting flight from Paradigm Spark. Each coffee was meticulously brewed using the pour-over technique. The tasting flight featured 3 coffees - Bohuma, Sezita, and Duvixe. Duvixe was my favourite, with its delightful wine notes. Butter Block Cafe is a must visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality pastries and exceptional coffee. We'll definitely be returning!“

“This past weekend, I had the privilege to meet Kalia, from Kakes & Kanvas. Kalia was an absolute Ray of Sunshine . Not only was she in the wedding party. She also baked and decorated the Wedding Cake and all the cupcakes for dessert, here on site. She is an incredible person. I am so happy I had the honour to meet her and work with her for a bit. Her attention to detail is top notch. I must say that her cake and cupcakes were a hit with the crowd. Not a crumb was left behind. The guests raved about how delicious it all was. “I have ordered a cake from Cake bake Shoppe twice in the last 8 months and my experience has been wonderful. The cakes turned out moist. I am giving a 4 star ONLY because I am a bit bummed that we are only able to purchase predesigned cakes. Now, if I order from here, I need to work around their design peremeters. Which is unfortunate because for the next party, we have plans for a much more colourful cake, and cannot use them. If you are looking to get a tasty cake done in a short time with a simple design, this is the place to go! “I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering a birthday cake from Sucre for a special celebration, and I must say it was a disappointment from start to finish. The entire process, from placing the order to the delivery, left me frustrated and dissatisfied. Firstly, I ordered the cake well in advance to ensure it would be delivered on time for the birthday celebration. Unfortunately, Sucre failed to fulfill this basic expectation. The cake was not ready and to make matters worse, it was delivered frozen. This unexpected twist was not communicated beforehand, and it left me scrambling to find an alternative dessert for the celebration. Upon contacting Sucre's manager/ owner Yin Sung to express my dissatisfaction, I was met with indifference. She offered no sincere apology for the inconvenience caused and merely explained that the cakes are delivered frozen to ensure freshness. To add insult to injury, Sucre was unwilling to provide a full refund for the subpar service and the inconvenience caused. Instead, they offered a partial refund, which I found inadequate given the magnitude of the disappointment. A company that prides itself on delivering exquisite cakes should also prioritize customer satisfaction, especially when they fail to meet their own delivery commitments. In conclusion, my experience with Sucre was far from satisfactory. The late delivery of a frozen cake and the lack of a genuine apology or a full refund left a bitter taste in my mouth. I would caution others considering Sucre for special occasions to think twice and explore alternative options that prioritize both quality and customer service.“
