Stumbled upon this place on a recent quick trip to Calgary and went 3 times in 2 days because I wanted to try as much as I could! Everything is delicious and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I loved the salmon sandwich and avocado toast, as well as the almond croissant. I also tried the oat bar and it was really incredible! You can’t go wrong with anything here!

Sidewalk Citizen Bakery is a delightful destination spot with a wonderful ambiance. They offer delicious baked goods and coffee, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy. The savory breakfast sandwich and raspberry lemonade cruffin were absolutely delicious, especially the cruffin with lemony cream and fresh raspberries. The vibes by the river are super laid back. This place has the top almond croissant, considered the best after trying them in 15 different countries. The sourdough croissant and blueberry scone were great, and the chocolate croissant was good. Vegetarian options are plentiful, making it hard to choose from the amazing menu. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for a tasty and cozy spot by the river. They also offer a ham & cheese croissant and an underrated but absolute best item, the oatmeal cookie.
The pastries are wow, and it's a good spot for breakfast or a mid-morning pastry. The place has limited seating, but sitting outside is more popular when the weather is nice. The bakery is great, and everything they serve is amazing. Their sandwiches are also the best, and they change daily/weekly, so customers must try them all. They have a patio right by the water, which is a great spot to grab a coffee, walk the dog, or walk by yourself.
The breakfast and croissants were incredibly fresh, not greasy, very flavorful, and had a perfect balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sourdough bread is probably the best in Calgary, with a perfect crust, perfect gooeyness, and the perfect amount of holes. The sandwiches also have a perfect balance of ingredients and bread. The cured salmon, avocado, and eggs were of great quality. Customers have never been disappointed at Sidewalk Citizen Bakery, and the atmosphere is positive and vibrant.
