“First time here, I came for the dine in special. Went for the Fun ghi pizza, so generous with the mushrooms. I mean most places are pretty skimpy. Crust was light, crispy and everything was delicious. The server was excellent and very professional.“

Menu is very simple, most of the drinks are pre-batch, this is to rest assure the quality and consistency of each cocktail, which is the best way to do it

Food menu wise, I think they are smart too, they served the best CAN food you can find in the market, like Anthony Bourdain said, if the Spain people can preserve the best seafood into a can, and ship it around the world, this idea is genious -

All they need is just some warm sour dough bread on the side, and open the can ,,,,viola

Save the kitchen investment, Save the kitchen labour, if the idea is working fine, don't change it

“This place is amazing. We first had aperitivo, then pasta and finally dessert. Everything was simply amazing. Aperitivo we had arancini and meatballs with Aperol Spritz, great price on the happy hour menu and wow that tomato sauce was amazing!! The pasta fileja was so delicious, we ordered one boscaiola and one with nduja, both excellent!!! Dessert - tiramisu and bombolone gelato, paired with the suggested cocktails, another success! The whole experience was so good that I can’t wait to be back and try something else. Also the servers were amazing and Biagio very friendly! Perfect date!! Grazie! 🙏“

“I tried Modern Steak since my mom was craving a halal burger and they have a wagyu burger option. We were seated quickly without waiting even though it was busy. The wait time was a little long and it was a little hard to catch our waitress, but I don’t blame them since it was busy. I got a halal ribeye steak and it was cooked just right. The quality was also worth the price. The wagyu burger in my opinion was a little lacklustre, but wagyu is always best simple so it was alright. The star of dinner was the Baked Alaska. Absolutely delicious. I would come back just to eat the Baked Alaska again. Definitely recommend for steak and just to try the Baked Alaska.“

I had the enjoyment of attending a company celebration, and we received their exclusive private room for a full night. With more than 20 seats my business cohort and myself had a great time. It just finished raining they were more than happy to make sure our table outside as per request was wiped dry they also turned the heater on for my girlfriend since it was a bit chilly for her in a dress, the Food was amazing we ordered the prawns as an app and a pizza each(which was more than enough) and we were not disappointed along with two 1/2L UNA house reds we left full and quiet content 😉“

It was pay what you want for the coffee day. I cannot rave more about this place. The staff are always cheerful and welcoming. The owner, Andy is so supportive of myself and other local Musicians. There is an amazing Jazz Jam here on Sundays from approximately 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. (Don’t quote me on the time though.) This place is awesome!“

“The worst dining and service I have ever had. Had a birthday party asked them to split the bill between the guests, lied and said they would but rather put the entire bill on one with a 20% gratuity. The ravioli is disgusting and the manager, Brye needs better management skill. Better places to wine and dine.“

“This has been our go-to spot for oysters for a reason. The oysters are always fresh, flavourful, and consistently high quality. You can really tell there is care put into the food, and the quality has remained excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming, which always makes for a great experience. We have noticed that some menu items seem to have gotten a little smaller over time, but the quality and taste are still there. We definitely miss seeing Greg since he retired, but this remains one of our favourite places to enjoy oysters and a great meal.“

“My first experience at Una was very good. I was interested in purchasing a couple single slices. Unfortunately they didn't have a pepperoni pizza prepared, and I had to wait 15 minutes.

During this time I engaged in conversation with the very friendly Australian man working behind the counter. Our conversation ranged from the decline of food quality in North America, to the Australian music and food scene. This helped pass the time until my pizza was ready.

Besides a slice of pepperoni, I also ordered a slice of barbecue chicken pizza. Both were outstanding examples of a thin crust pizza. I will definitely come here again! Highly recommended!“

“My sister and I went to the rivercafe to cap off our Calgary trip. The location was really exceptional and the walk there from downtown was nice.

Foodwise the tasting menu was really exceptional. I found each dish to have the right combination of textures, savouriness and colour without being too heavy on any one element. Specifically the halibut and the bison belly were key dishes I would recommend.

The service was generally attentive and was able to accomodate a substitution on the tasting menu which I do appreciate. I believe there is some room to improve, as we ordered a wine pairing and the descriptions were very high level and really only hit on the fact that it pairs well with the dish but not why. Also, as we were celebrating my sisters birthday there wasnt anything done which i can appreciate should not be expected but we did see other tables get that benefit.

Overall I would recommend trying Rivercafe. The food was exceptional and aside from some minor service improvements the staff and atmosphere was really great.“

“Everything was great (beets gnocchi and pizza) minus the fact we had to spend half our meal listening to the absolute Karen causing a scene next to us over her gf mushroom pizza. Literally 20 minutes of her berating the staff and complaining while we were enjoying our awesome meal. If you don’t like your food ma’am just tell them politely… because of her behaviour we could get a box and our bill because our server was tied up with her nonsense“

“Food was great! However it was half price wine night. We made a point of asking if glasses were included, the server said yes. When we received the bill the server admitted it was only bottles and gave us happy hr pricing on the glasses. She should have honoured at half the price. The menu needs to be updated to avoid confusion. It says half price “glass bottles”...of course the bottles are glass so one is left to assume it means half prices glasses of wine and bottles.“
