“This was my first time at modern steak and I am sure super impressed, I am a foodie and surprised I have not tried this restaurant.
However, service is top notch, I actually enjoy this place more than chairman’s 🤫
I highly recommend the tomahawk steak and king crab, went amazing together
Andrill was our server, he was wonderful but mostly appreciate there team to ensure great service! The manager came over checked in super nice and welcoming staff! I appreciate the amazing service and meal! I will absolutely be back very soon!“

“Just when you think they can't raise their game any higher Hy's manages to find a way. We attended the Calgary locations 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sept 26th and it was spectacular. The event was flawlessly organized and orchestrated by the Hy's team, the food was next level even by Hy's standards and the service exceeded anything we have experienced anywhere in North America even in the finest hotels. Bryant Olender added a classic background with piano and vocal stylings that perfectly suited the atmosphere. It was certainly the best evening we have at Hy's over the last decade, and I don't think I'm overstating it to say it was a "Once in a Lifetime" experience. A huge thankyou to Barb and the entire Hy's team!“

“The Business district Calgary Vintage Chophouse is truly an astonishing place to dine. I had the enjoyment of attending a company celebration, and we received their exclusive private room for a full night. With more than 20 seats my business cohort and myself had a great time. The service is impeccable, the scenery is grand, and the food is spectacular!“

“I'm leaving this review while we are still at the table.
If the five of us, two adults, two teens and a child, believe it's some of the best food we have had, this place deserves a 5 star review.
We had rib eye, black angus queso dip, steak fried rice, wagyu dumplings.
DELICIOUS.
Kudos to Peter, great, friendly & welcoming service to boot.“

“Service was great and food was great too. The reason I gave 4 stars is because I felt there was something missing. Cannot pinpoint it. My steak was very good but not a 5 I would say. I do recommend this place. The restaurant has a rustic feel which I love and the service was excellent.“

“This is an amazing resturant. Our server page was amazing, very attentive and with a tremendous personality. Her wine recommendation was spot on. There was another gentleman that worked with her, unfortunatly I forgot his name but with the team we were never left unattended. The food WOW. the steaks were cooked to perfection and represented Calgary well. The Brussel sprouts were to die for and the carrots, absolutely amazing. When in Calgary this is a must go to place.“

“The server, apologies for not knowing her name, was awesome. I have been missing Alberta beef since moving out of the province, this totally reminded me why.
If you want a steak, and you want it cooked right, come here. You will not be disappointed.“

“The CattleBaron is a nice high-end restaurant with loads to eat and drink. Although I don't drink, I appreciated their display of containers and how many different choices they had. Starting with the appetizers for supper, I would suggest choosing something to share such as calamari along with the bread they give you. The servers were really kind and our server refilled my water around 5 times. The food is certainly good, especially if you choose prime rib or some kind of steak. When I was there, we were given what I would say is a quarter of an entire brocoli along with carrots. For potatoes, we were given the options of mashed, stuffed, and baked, and we were offered sour cream, bacon bits, and chives on top. Overall I thought it was a good experience with scrumptious food, but I haven't been to many similar restaurants.“

“Wow!! What an amazing dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was perfect: friendly and welcoming. The meal was the best meal we have had in a long time. Every bite was seasoned beautifully, and their house made meats to start, yummy. As a huge fan of Top Chef and Top Chef Canada, we finally made it to Top Chef Connie’s restaurant. Thank you John for taking the time to talk with us, truly a wonderful evening. Definitely will be going back.“

“My second time in Calgary was nothing short of perfection. Last year I dined here for my birthday and when the thought of what to do rolled around this year, flying to Calgary seemed both extra, and hilarious. But it stuck. Saltlik, you outdid yourself. I’ve been thinking of the Beeswax Old Fashioned for 366 days and it just hits the spot. Victoria B.C. hasn’t latched onto it yet but it’ll come. Dinner was exceptional but the real star or the show was Trevor. Exceptional service is becoming an almost lost art and this guy has it. His energetic read on the table and tailored charisma is what 90s career servers were made of. The kind of server who questions himself “how do I elevate this experience?!” And then executes. His tag team with Chris to make this birthday nothing short of Calgary perfection is exactly why we ended up here. Thank you for making us feel special, our dinner incredible and leaving us with yet another Saltlik memory for the books. Thanks over many thanks. We will see you again!“
