“First timers in Calgary, on holiday from England. After scanning the area around our hotel for places to eat and drink we found The Prohibition Bar and decided to give it a go.
Well...we absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
The atmosphere was great, we booked for 6pm so it was fairly quiet. Our server, Mitch, was absolutely fantastic, very friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely excited about some of the cocktails my wife was ordering.
Food wise, we had the Nonna's Meatballs and Spicy Mango Chicken Nachos...both were great.
Wonderful experience, so glad we did it !!!

“My daughter and I dined at 530pm yesterday, May 24th 2025. We chose to sit in the dining room. We were lead to a table by the fireplace under a great chandelier. The ambiance of Joey Crowfoot is lively and warm. Comfortable seating, perfectly sized tables, and excellent lighting. Our server, whose name I can't recall - tall dark and handsome and a theater major - was attentive and friendly. The food we had was absolutely incredible. We chose goyza dumplings to start which were so flavourful and perfectly cooked. My daughter ordered the hamburger and fries and even with her braces bothering her, she demolished. My blackened chicken with warm potato salad was hands down the BEST meal I've had in a restaurant in a long, long time. I will be dreaming of that salad until I can get back there again !!“

“My husband and I had dinner last Tues. We have been here numerous times and it is always consistent. This location always leaves the best impressions! From hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, with beautiful presentation, and a wide variety wine list. Our server Chloe was the best. “Traveling thru Calgary ... hotel recommended Moxies. We used Uber app for delivery. The deliver to address was wrong. We called the restaurant, and they were OUTSTANDING... they spent time to help with sincerity and true customer service. And the food was EXCELLENT ..... can't recommend this restaurant (or its staff) any higher.“

“We had such excellent service from Stephanie and some of the other serving team. Stephanie was phenomenal at creating an atmosphere of hospitality, upselling with class and professionalism, and serving in a way that was incredibly efficient and fast. She had us trying multiple starters and desserts on top of entrees and enjoying every bite of each dish.

I can't say enough good things about the quality of food and how reasonably priced each dish was.

The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and can accommodate large groups.

During our stay at this hotel we dined four times and every time was exceptional with high quality food and excellent service. We tried a variety of menu items and everything was tasty. Usually I can only eat at a restaurant once or twice before needing to switch up and have food from somewhere else however this one I didn't have a problem eating at every night we stayed at the hotel.“

“Found the service to be excellent. Food ordered via app (due to COVID no buffet and service to your table) and didn’t have to wait too long. Food and drinks were great. Ordered sea bass with cauliflower and chickpeas, salad, perogies and dessert. Portions were small, but expected in a lounge. Also had wine, cocktail and coffee with Baileys. Plenty of tables or sofa/chairs to choose from. The ones at the back could be excellent for anyone needing a nap.“

“Just when you think they can't raise their game any higher Hy's manages to find a way. We attended the Calgary locations 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sept 26th and it was spectacular. The event was flawlessly organized and orchestrated by the Hy's team, the food was next level even by Hy's standards and the service exceeded anything we have experienced anywhere in North America even in the finest hotels. Bryant Olender added a classic background with piano and vocal stylings that perfectly suited the atmosphere. It was certainly the best evening we have at Hy's over the last decade, and I don't think I'm overstating it to say it was a "Once in a Lifetime" experience. A huge thankyou to Barb and the entire Hy's team!“

“Lounges in Canada are miles above US lounges. By American standards, I thought I was flying business class by the quality of the lounge.

The food selection was decent, nothing crazy, and they were decent tasting. it was nothing crazy, but quality enough for a hungry traveler to chow down on.

Grace and the rest of the employees working the 15th July afternoon shift were incredible. Extremely hospitable, quick to service, and the place was kept tidy and buffet always full. Will definitely come back here sometime soon.“

“Great restaurant, the food is always delicious, we got the a la carte menu, the beef platter is very big, it comes with 3 side dishes, I just wish the amounts for the side dishes were a bit bigger, is supper small even paying for extra ones. Other than that, the service is also very good, and it's very family friendly, I love how the music is on a great level, and every time we ate there the place was super calm, which is great if you have little ones. I highly recommend ordering desert, the dolce de letche pudin and the churros are our absolutely favourites.“

“XS lounge food is great. Variety of foods to choose from like eats Indian buffet every day of the week, so authentic and mouth watering. Service are great. “Our family spent the week here as we visited Calgary and Banff. The location was perfect for being able to easily get onto the freeway and start our adventures for the day. The area also felt very safe and we didn’t have to worry about our vehicle or anything like that. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Rooms, shared spaces and pool were all very clean and well maintained. Our kids spent many hours in the pool! I loved that the hot tub was nice and big! In the rooms, the beds were the comfiest I have ever slept in at a hotel!! Very quiet, and housekeeping was very sweet and helpful, providing however much or little housekeeping we asked for each day. Would definitely recommend and would book here again!!“

“We stopped by the Wednesday Room for a light meal recently and loved the experience completely. We were met by the host who immediately escorted us to the table we requested. As he seated us, the host outlined the menu organization so we could navigate it easier. After we were seated, Gabby our waitress arrived to go over the menu and drinks options with us. It made ordering easy and efficient. Our food and drinks order arrived on a very timely basis. The food was wonderfully presented. Both of our dishes were very tasty with subtle, unique flavors made in-house (oysters and beef carpaccio were our choices). When it was time to check out, Gabby made the process very efficient and with friendly banter leaving us smiling for the rest of the evening. All the staff we were involved with seemed to be happy and very personable - a drastic change from the plastic, mechanical service we usually experience. Thank you to everyone for a great experience at "The Wednesday Room"!“

“Excellent lounge with zero fuss getting in, getting seated and getting comfortable. Absolutely night and day when compared with our nightmarish experience with the Westjet Elevation Lounge just down the hall where getting in essentially requires sacrificing your second child while kowtowing to the stasi officers guarding the front desk.

Beautiful views and lovely service, the bartender was happy to keep our family topped up with Prosecco and the made to order sliders were perfection. Will certainly be back on the next occasion!“

“Currently on a road trip across Canada. We've stopped at many different places but this restaurant is by far the best food we've had so far. It was my first ordering ginger beef, and I gotta say, I'm in love. Fantastic service, food, and atmosphere. 10/10 would hit a road trip just for this spot. “A premium lounge for a VIP experience. This place was by far the best place to view the grand stand show and the Chuck wagon races. The food was amazing the cocktails were creative and very well crafted. Both the chef and bartender were on point. I have seen the grandstand a couple times and it was great. 2019 'trailblazer ' show was absolutely incredible.“

We worked on a styled shoot together earlier this year and it was an absolute BLAST. “Was here a few times. Best Shisha in the city, great service and food. Friendly staff and security. Only thing holding me back from 5 stars everywhere is the tall skinny server girl pressuring me for high tips. I believe it should be my choice how much I tip and not be pressured how much I tip. Was not a fan of her attitude shift because of that as well. But overall fantastic place to go out and vibe.“

“We recently hosted an event here and we were very happy with how accommodating Regency was with everything. They were extremely transparent and supportive in helping us organize our event at their venue.

Their food was amazing and I am glad that as a vegetarian they were very accommodating for me and the other people with dietary restrictions.

“Heard a lot about this restaurant - visiting from out of town. From the outside the restaurant looks big and would be your typical busy eating establishment, but the tables were arranged so it didn't feel overcrowded. The bar/kitchen set up was very unique. Definitely going back on my next trip back.“
