“For some time I have been enjoying the calamari and plum wine. Every so often, I will stay for a full meal. Last night we were hungry and had salmon and red snapper. The red snapper was good, but the salmon was exquisite - cooked to perfection with a crispy sear . The creamy spicy sause that went on both fish was so flavourful and delicious, I nearly licked my plate. Come for the calamari, stay for the salmon!“

“The Business district Calgary Vintage Chophouse is truly an astonishing place to dine. I had the enjoyment of attending a company celebration, and we received their exclusive private room for a full night. With more than 20 seats my business cohort and myself had a great time. The service is impeccable, the scenery is grand, and the food is spectacular!“

I recommend having the oysters with lemon, tabasco, and top them off with their house relish (you need to ask for it, it is free)! We also tried their menu of the day, a pasta dish, which, for the price, was kind of underwhelming. The interior was really cute, perfect for a date!“

“We were so hungry and saw this Seahood place. We finished all the 3 dishes we ordered and the taste of all these are authentic and delicious 🤤
Lamb fried rice is flavorful, shrimp and lobster tails spicy ones are cooked with great spice and lastly the scallops stir fry with lotus root feels like you’re not in Canada. Authentic sea food restaurant Chinese style .. my husband ate all of it and the server kept refilling our tea, and very generous. ❤️“

“My family has long adored this joint and I realized this past visit, that I have never written about it.

First off, it has the rolling carts. You know how food just tastes better outside? Dim sum tastes amazing off rolling carts, right?

You walk in to walls papered with copious amounts of photo’s showing a hodgepodge of celebs and people who have sampled the food. Fun!

The variety is great. The servers are pro’s! I have always found everyone very kind, especially considering how many people they are servicing (competently). We have never lacked for water or tea and always gotten the dishes we were craving.

Sometimes the squid is more tender than others or the doughnuts more crispy, but it is good every time. Their other menu items like pea shoots in garlic are also lovely accompaniments.

Go early on weekends so you can get a parking spot in the mall lot and avoid the long line up. There is an elevator for those who find stairs an issue.

There is also a store that sells frozen dim sum to take home in the same mall and an Asian bakery if you are so inclined.“

Every dish has been a winner so far: Peking pork ribs were tender, green beans had a nice crunch (I had seconds, though I don't normally care for green beans), house fried noodles were very generous with the ingredients ... “My husband and I used Charbar as our reception/dinner venue for our wedding in August 2022. Besides a few hiccups, which are to be expected, we had a great experience with them! The food was amazing and all of our guests had nothing but amazing things to say about it! The venue is a beautiful spot, and minimal decor was needed. The bar staff that we had the night of were great and made sure we were taken care of. We were able to have a tasting before hand and our coordinators worked with us to come up with a specialty cocktail that fit our budget. The only thing that might have been lacking was communication between ourselves, the coordinator, and the staff working our event. We struggled to get answers back right away through email, but our wedding was around Stampede time. There were a few mix-ups the night before and the day of our wedding. For example: We were dropping off our cake the night before to be refrigerated and was told that the manager on shift would know about it. When we got there, no one had any idea what we were talking about and our cake was almost given to the wedding that was happening that night. The day of we did not have a charged microphone, and there were some technical difficulties with the sound system during our dances. It was also not communicated on our end that non-alcoholic beverages were charged @$4/drink. Our wedding party also got their food served to them last, so we had to push back our schedule with speeches. There was also supposed to be a separate table set up for our photographer to eat at, and as we were being served dinner, it was then realized she had no where to sit. These hiccups are minor, but definitely made it so there were some added stresses to the day. Besides the difficulties with communication, we would recommend Charbar for your wedding if you are looking for something that is small and simple, but still modern! I would suggest hiring a coordinator if you do choose to use Charbar, only for the fact that as a young couple who did not know the ins and outs of wedding planning, there were things that were missed through communication that shouldn't have been and a wedding coordinator would be able to avoid this with their knowledge and expertise.“

Had a birthday party asked them to split the bill between the guests, lied and said they would but rather put the entire bill on one with a 20% gratuity. “We recently hosted an event here and we were very happy with how accommodating Regency was with everything. They were extremely transparent and supportive in helping us organize our event at their venue.

Their food was amazing and I am glad that as a vegetarian they were very accommodating for me and the other people with dietary restrictions.

“Food here is absolutely worth the little bit of a wait to get it. We ordered the chicken and gnocchi and the ginger beef bowl and the berry pie dor dessert. The chicken was perfectly cooked and tender felt it was melting in your mouth. Service was great. Resrurant had an issue with their new sustem and our order was late. Our waitress Ciara offered to get us drinks while we waited for the order issues to be resolved. She came back every few minutes was very professional and made the vibe very friendly and heart warming.“
