“Best Vietnamese Food in Calgary!“

“We got married at Rodney's Oyster House Oct 5 2024 and it was an 11/10 experience. Travis Reynolds, the Events Manager was wonderful to work with and helped make our special day perfect at the restaurant. We had the ceremony, reception, open bar, plated dinner, and live band all there and the staff were incredible, the space was beautiful, food unreal, and Travis was always checking in and overseeing the night. We received countless feedback from guests about how it was "the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to" and certainly the restaurant made that happen. An unsolicited review from a guest was "all the staff jumped to take pictures when they noticed a selfie going on, cleaning after discarded plates. Never waited for a drink once". We experienced the same, always attentive and made sure the night ran smooth". Leading up to the wedding we went several times and tried various dishes were were going to serve, nothing disappointed. “For some time I have been enjoying the calamari and plum wine. Every so often, I will stay for a full meal. Last night we were hungry and had salmon and red snapper. The red snapper was good, but the salmon was exquisite - cooked to perfection with a crispy sear . The creamy spicy sause that went on both fish was so flavourful and delicious, I nearly licked my plate. Come for the calamari, stay for the salmon!“

“Busy Saturday night, sat at the bar and had service right away. The server got our order and helped us pick out a nice bottle of red wine. Atmosphere was nice and food came out in no time.

Double baked potato with 10 oz prime rib - delic 8/10, plus baked beans and fried onions. Prime rib was an ok cut and paired well with the au jus.

8 oz Filet, beets and mash potatoes. -10/10.

Had no room for dessert. Our server followed up enough and it was a pleasant evening.“

“Amazing. We chose big fish & open range because they had Frog Legs on the menu, and we like to create memories and adventures when travelling with kiddos. Did NOT disappoint! We had a wonderful meal, excellent frog legs, fish, chicken, house-made sauces, everything we had was amazing. Highly recommend.“

“We went to Modern Ocean for my husband’s birthday yesterday. We have been waiting to try this restaurant for quite a while. To say this experience was amazing, would be an understatement. From the atmosphere, to the staff, to the food, it was all incredible. Madison was our server and she was inviting, warm, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was so great! We had an amazing night and we will absolutely be back. 110% across the board!“

“Our service tonight from Amicko (sorry I probably spelt it wrong) was too notch. She made some great food and wine pairing suggestions. The food was delicious and the restaurant was in a quaint old house which was renovated into a 2 storey restaurant. We had one of the last seatings of the night, so by the time we left, we almost had the second floor dining room to ourselves. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Calgary.“

“Popular with people 'in the know'. Unusual location - at the back of the Montbrillant Hotel - doesn't look appealing from the outside, but don't be put off. Limited menu choice, but home cooked and genuine Eritrean/Ethiopian food. Some dishes may be too spicy for those not used to 'hot' food. Take the plunge and eat with your fingers - a genuine experience.“

“I as well as my family have been dining and having delivery from Bills new location in Calgary for many years. The food for dinner for 2–excellent— added an extra entree with the deep fried shrimp . It was so delicious and so good. We recommend them highly.“

“Absolutely love it here. We came here on our vacation and brought our family. The staff are wonderful. They even offered to warm up my grandsons milk bottle. They answered our questions to make sure everyone knew how the menu works. The food is fabulous. And the variety is great. My kids asked if we can go again when we come back. Definitely returning“

“Always loved coming here through the years. Celebrated my birthday last night and it was fantastic. The Bone-in Porterhouse was always a treat and delicious! Perfectly medium rare. The earl grey creme brulee was new in the menu and it was delicious + they added a sparkler and a birthday treat. Service was always fantastic!“

“Overall, an enjoyable experience, though slightly overpriced for the quality. We tried a variety of sushi and yakitori, while both were good, they didn’t particularly stand out, and I’ve had comparable yakitori for a better price elsewhere. The ke bun was a nice highlight, with generous pieces of tender meat. A pleasant meal, but I’d hope for a bit more considering the cost.“

“Tasted awesome! We ordered Chinese sausages fried rice, lean ground pork with green beans in spicy sauce, and fish fillets and tofu hot pot. The English translation might not be the best way to describe how they taste. The fried rice is actually a Hong Kong style fried rice with a lot of crunchy mild dried spices sprinkled on top of the fried rice.

Overall they cooked the way we wanted. It also comes with free Chinese soup at the beginning and free dessert at the end! Love them! Glad that they open late as well, 10pm. Will be back for dinner again!

Parking: The free parking lot was full. The day we went at least 2 vehicles were not parked properly so it blocked off at least 2 to 3 available spots! That’s frustrating! We ended up have to park far away on a street.“

Our drinks and food were perfect and the timing between appetizer, salad and main was perfect - not rushed like most places. “My favourite restaurant in Calgary, went again tonight, best service, best food, my go to restaurant for the best food and service“

“I've been heading here for dim sum for years. The staff are friendly and fun. The traditional dim sum carts add to the atmosphere. The food is well prepared. My favourite dumplings are siu mai. They have three kinds of char siu bao (fluffy, bun, and pastry). Don't miss the chinese donuts that are wrapped in noodles and sprinkled with sauce, delicious! The dan tart are also really good!“

“I had a wonderful dining experience at Levilla. The service was impeccable, and the food exceeded my expectations. For the appetizer, I chose the baked brie with freshly baked bread, which was outstanding. The brie was soft, with a perfect balance of savory and sweet, complementing the warm bread beautifully.

For the main course, I opted for the seafood Bucatini, and although I forgot to take a picture, it was truly exceptional. The sauce was rich and creamy, and the seafood was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection.

An added bonus is the ample parking, which eliminates the hassle of finding or paying for parking—a small but appreciated detail. I highly recommend Levilla for its diverse menu, expertly crafted dishes, and excellent service.

“Super love the quality of the food and service here! The owners are so warm and welcoming, very personable! Its my first time here and it didn’t disappoint..The food is just excellent! Fresh and made to order! :D I highly recommend the Japadog and their takoyaki.

“Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The food was good and arrived fairly quickly. Fish tacos were good but more batter than fish. Salads were fresh and tasty. Pasta was good. They were out of one of the white wines by the glass (apparently wine Wednesday depleted their stock). The atmosphere in the main dining area is lovely and has a European feel. Overall, a very nice dining experience. Murrietta's remains a fabulous option for group lunches or dinners.“

“Had a great experience here for dinner. Our server was so friendly, very professional, and made us feel welcome from the start. My partner is gluten-free, and their entire menu (except two items) are gluten-free. Knowing they are extremely cautious with it gave us a sense of comfort that my partner wasn't going to be worried about cross-contamination. Made the night even better.

We had the brussel sprouts and chorizo to start and shared a gluten-free pizza as our main. Everything thing was top-notch.

And the price is probably what surprised me most. They also have a great buffet. The family and I plan on going here every month from now on.“

“THE Chinese food hidden gem! ?✨ The egg roll was DELICIOUS. They had quite a few vegetarian options, which I was pleasantly surprised by. The dude working was polite and to the point, food came fast and was so good.
