“We came to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed! From the second we sat down, our server Stephanie was kind, attentive, and informative…our chef Alvin was engaging, fun, and entertaining! Both of these staff members made it truly an unforgettable visit…they both went above and beyond, and interacted with our children throughout the entire meal and made it an incredible experience for our entire family. This is definitely more than just a restaurant - it is absolutely an experience and we would recommend 100% (especially for kids - they won’t stop talking about how much fun they had)!“

“Such a great little hole in the wall! It’s so cute and the food was DELICIOUS! Be warned, the pockets are NOT heated - as long as you know that, it won’t shock your brain and the taste is PHENOMENAL! We tried the Spicy Bulgogi, KChicken, Mango Crab and Mushroom Udon bowl. All were wonderful but the top two were the KChicken and the Spicy Bulgogi (for the pockets). The Mushroom Udon was INCREDIBLE - felt almost comfort food like! 100% would come back! We are from Tennessee in the US and this is our first Canadian food stop. Also the cashier is so sweet!!! Soooo sweet!“

“This is my third time here, and it never disappoints! I absolutely love their Teriyaki Beef Ramen, and the portion size is incredibly generous. The service is always excellent, and the staff make sure we’re enjoying our food throughout the meal. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to! My workplace is also close here so it’s a plus ❤“

“Sushi AOI

I started with the miso soup and it was the most flavourful iteration of that dish I think I’ve had in Calgary. Perfectly seasoned. I liked that the bowl came with a lid so it stayed hot. 10/10
Next, the seaweed salad. Solid. 8/10
The edamame rolled in at a 6/10. Nothing wrong with it but I like when they use maldon salt instead of table salt. It was acceptably okay.
Then, I ordered three types of tuna nigiri to compare:
1. Tuna- this was buttery and fell apart in my mouth 8/10
2. Red Tuna- had a way more distinct flavour to it. Less buttery, more structure. A little fishy, in a good way. 8.5/10
3. Toro (tuna belly)- less flavourful and very obviously the fattiest part of the fish. I think this was the most expensive but it was my least favourite. 6/10
The only roll I got was the salmon avocado roll and it’s maybe the best salmon sushi I’ve ever had. The salmon tasted so fresh and there was a really generous portion of it. Same with the avocado. This was perfectly dreamy. I’ll come back just for this.

Service was sweet and efficient. The interior was cool and quiet. Even the nigiri I didn’t like as much was due to my palate, not a reflection of the quality of the food here.“

“first time eating here with a diverse group with limited Japanese food experience. mind blown!! beautiful atmosphere, staff were amazing made the 2 birthdays in our group very special. The food was beautifully prepared and tasted amazing! one in our group is a meat and potato's guy but is now a sushi lover! expecting a huge bill at the end of the night but was shocked at how very reasonable the price was for a total of 7 people. Definitely will be back a new favorite restaurant.“

“I was shocked by the good quality of the poke bowl of Netsui Sushi! The vegetables are very fresh and delicious and the style of the poke looks artistic ! I really enjoyed it. “I love koji Katsu! They recently opened this year and I love that they’re adding and improving their menu. I definitely recommend their assorted Katsu, it’s a huge portion of their three types of Katsu (tenderloin, shrimp, and cheese) with rice soup and salad. You can easily share this with two people! And I love their Katsu sando (sandwich). The bread is so tender and it tastes like the one in Japan. They have great service and are really open to feedback! A great local place in the city“

“The best culinary experience you could possibly get for the price. The food was prepared with the upmost attention to detail. We did the Yakitori Omakase (15 course meal with drink pairings). The specially reserved seats in front of the kitchen offer a show, not just the meal. Our server Adam provided an 11/10 service, explaining the intricacies of each dish and how the each drink was tied into the given course. They also offer you the option to purchase 3 ounces of the 45 day beeswax aged A5 Waygu (which we also purchased and highly recommend to take in the full experience). You will not leave hungry, or unsatisfied in any way. If you’re in Calgary, you have to visit Shokunin.“

The food was good, nice sized servings. Tasted very fresh and very well made. Miso soup was very good, definitely recommended.
Place was clean, and well maintained, cute atmosphere, lots of windows and light.
Server was very kind and easy to order from. Waited a Lil bit but quality work takes time and I had no where to rush off to.

“The food was incredible. My mom used to make katsu for me when I was a child but I don’t cook and my boyfriend is allergic to shellfish so he can’t have lots of Asian dishes.
I don’t usually try new things but I was sick and craving katsu so I decided to give it a try.

I got the assorted katsu (Jun Katsu pork). It was really yummy. The katsu was crispy, everything was well seasoned, I enjoyed trying all the sauces. The rice was nice and fluffy, the cabbage was good to have between bites of katsu, and the miso soup was really nice. I felt like I was getting a cozy, warm hug and felt so much better after eating.

What I really love (and the reason I’m making this review) is the drawing of the little pig on the plastic container 🐷. I can tell it was made with love and care and it really cheered me up.

“The food is delicious! Even the little kids ate really well, which was great. We ordered jjolmyeon as a side and had it with the pork cutlet, and the combination was amazing. My child loved the pork cutlet, so we’ll definitely be coming back again. 😊“

“As a treat, I picked up a tray of sushi to go from Ke tonight and when I got home, realized it was a different tray which unfortunately had an ingredient I can’t eat. Upon returning to the restaurant 10 minutes later (I live close), the supervisor couldn’t have been kinder, replaced the tray right away, even identifying one type with the ingredient unlisted and substituted the item, all within only a few minutes. Her response to the accidental mixup with the tray was top-tier and when we finally dug in, the sushi was delicious. Thanks again!“
