“One of few five star ratings I've given where I wish I could rate higher. These fellas are so friendly, so excited to share their food and just such a pleasant lot to deal with.
Very welcoming staff, great food and prices, and overall an experience that will leave you with a big ol' smile. Dosirak rips, 10/10 recommend“

“I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, especially considering how affordable everything is. It’s rare to find a place where the prices are low but the quality doesn’t take a hit, and this spot really delivers. Every dish we tried tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with more care than you’d expect for the price point. I'm not saying the food was perfect or life changing, but very good for the price.
The portions were generous, the flavours were pretty on point, and it didn't feel “cheap” except the actual cost — which is a huge win. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite for your lunch break or planning a casual meal out, this is a great choice if you want good-quality food without spending a lot.
I will say that it does feel a bit like a cafeteria, which doesn't surprise me too much considering it's surrounded by office buildings all around downtown. It's not like a formal restaurant with table service, reusable plates and utensils and such, but still a very cozy little spot.
Overall, it’s a budget-friendly place that doesn’t compromise on taste or quality. It did lack a little authenticity and there are small things that lowered the taste experience a bit, but absolutely zero complaints for the price. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for great value at a cozy little spot.“

“The food is delicious! Even the little kids ate really well, which was great. We ordered jjolmyeon as a side and had it with the pork cutlet, and the combination was amazing. My child loved the pork cutlet, so we’ll definitely be coming back again. 😊“

“The food was delicious and very fast to reach our table. The lady at the front was very helpful and nice and everyone greeted us and said goodbye.
The house sauce was delicious too! I recommend this place and I'm going to definitely try and visit whenever I come back to Calgary.“

“This is our go-to spot right under our apartment, and we come here all the time. The owner, Bona, is incredibly friendly and remembers her regulars by name, which always makes us feel so welcome.
The chicken is consistently amazing: super crispy with perfectly balanced seasoning, and the prices are very reasonable. What really stands out is the care they put into everything, especially the takeout packaging, from sauces and containers - all are secured so nothing spills or moves. It’s honestly the most thoughtful packing I’ve seen.
Great food, kind people, and true attention to detail. We’re lucky to live closeby. Highly recommend.“

“I was literally telling my husband while we were driving that I was craving Hankki, and we ended up stopping by — perfect timing! My friend introduced me to Hankki a while ago, and I’ve been loving it ever since. The food always hits the spot when I’m craving something flavorful and satisfying.
Everything tasted great and the experience was just as good as always. Also wanted to give a quick shoutout to Alex for the friendly service and to the team as well— it’s always nice when staff make the visit feel welcoming.
Definitely a place I keep coming back to whenever the Hankki craving hits!“

“I ordered the seafood tofu soup and it was really delicious. The broth was super fresh and full of seafood flavour, so it seems like the restaurant uses very fresh ingredients. What surprised me the most was that there was even crab in it—so good! Totally satisfied my Asian taste buds! I’ll definitely come back again!“

“In bow vallet square, +15 connected food court. Has lineup. Fast assembly line. Good number of topping extras, and you chose your heat and meat. Lots of sauce. I like sweet and found it very sweet, the chicken was too sweet, but still okay. Value good for current prices, around $12.“

“Coco Cups is a little gem. The space is small, but the food quality and portions are excellent, and we usually go for takeout. The staff are always kind, welcoming, and genuinely warm. Every visit feels less like a good restaurant stop and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. Highly recommended!
I’ve visited both in summer and many a times this winter. All time favourite!“

“Chun Jang delivered a solid and enjoyable meal with several standout dishes. The spicy squid noodle soup was the clear highlight. The broth had a robust pepper-forward profile with a clean heat that did not overwhelm the aromatics, and the portion of squid was notably generous and well prepared. This single dish would justify a return visit.
The fried rice carried the characteristic wok-derived fragrance and paired well with the accompanying black bean sauce, offering a balanced savory element. The black bean noodles were less successful. The sauce leaned toward the sweet end of the spectrum, which limited depth and made it the least preferred item among our group.
The sweet and sour pork met expectations. The coating remained crisp, the sauce was well proportioned, and it functioned as a reliable classic that rounded out the meal.
Overall, Chun Jang offers strong execution on its spicy and savory dishes. The spicy squid noodle soup, in particular, deserves attention for its broth and portion quality.“

“After trying many Korean BBQ places in Calgary, this one is easily the best. Truly the best.
I have been here twice, and both experiences were excellent. The service was consistently attentive and friendly, the food was very fresh, and the restaurant itself was clean and well maintained.
One thing I really appreciate is that the beef is not overly marinated or drowned in heavy sauces. Since we work out regularly, this lighter preparation is much more suitable for us, and you can really taste the quality of the meat. The ventilation is also good, so the smoky smell is not overwhelming compared to many other BBQ places.
It honestly has all the strengths you would expect from a great Korean BBQ restaurant. During winter, the window seating can be a bit cold, but once we mentioned it to the staff, they immediately offered to move us and even cleaned an extra table for us. We truly appreciated the effort and kindness.
I would confidently recommend this place to anyone looking for high quality Korean BBQ in Calgary.“

“Roy’s Kitchen is one of my husband’s and my favorite restaurants in Calgary. I am from Korea and he is Canadian, and we both love their food because it has a great balance between traditional Korean flavors and modern fusion.
Although the dining area feels less like a conventional restaurant and more like a food court, the food quality and prices are really amazing. They also sell ready-to-eat traditional Korean soups and side dishes, and we always pick up a few whenever we visit.
I only wish they were a bit closer to our neighborhood. We live on the north side of Calgary, but we never mind making the trip because the food at Roy’s Kitchen is just that good.“

“Tried this restaurant, quality, and quantity of food were amazing. Good price, and even had lunch special.
Good place to have quick lunch. One thing I noticed there wasnt much service like literal no service such as checking up on customers or refills and pay up front and lady seemed to be busy workin alone. However it wasnt also bad and was just okay i would say.
Def will visit again“

“Best Kimchi in the game. The food is decent but the real reason I come here is to buy the 1L container of Kimchi to go. I assume they make it in house. I stopped buying kimchi at the grocery stores and only come here for all my Kimchi needs.“

The service was equally commendable, with friendly and attentive staff who made the dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service. I definitely plan to return soon to try more items from their menu.“

“Great Korean spot. Came in with a group of friends. The menu is not large but what they have, they do well. The interior is old school and charming. Friendly staff and delicious food. The beef bulgogi and cold noodle dishes were excellent, and the accompanying side dishes were generous and fresh. Great value as well, probably on the less expensive end for Korean restaurants in the city. Would love to return.“

“I had the mandu (dumpling, pot sticker) and the japjae. The mandu was excellent; most dumplings at restaurants have a tough outer skin or are too thick, or don't have enough filling. This was just right.
The side dishes (a favorite of any Korean meal) was ok (flavour and attention to detail were a little lacking). The kimchi was subpar. I was a little saddened by this as the side dishes can really complement your meal, and enhance it.
The japjae was also ok. I have had better (I can also make it better) but otherwise the dining experience was positive.
The restaurant has several soup dishes, so if you're a fan of that, you can check it out. Pricing is fairly standard for a Korean restaurant. Ordering is by tablet, situated at your table.
Footnote: it's a little tricky finding the restaurant, since there are multiple merge lanes and it's located in a small strip mall immediately after you turn left off 14th.
You might be better off parking in the adjacent strip mall across Dollarama and walking over instead.“

“Had dinner at Apron Korean Restaurant today and it was such a great experience! The food was flavorful as always. Sever Gaon (if im not mistaken) on duty was the only one working today (Remembrance Day) but she was very helpful, kind, and attentive despite being on her own. Really appreciated her friendly service. Definitely a spot worth visiting again!“

“Just had the Kim's boneless chicken bites, (spicy). One of the best dishes I have ever had. I don't live anywhere near the farmers market but anytime I go near there I will be stopping and picking up an order. I took it to go so that I could share with my wife, meaning I saved her a piece lol. I told them they need to bottle this sauce and sell it. The spicy sauce is sweet at first but then has a spicy kick but it's not out of hand so I think just about anyone could enjoy it.“

“One of our favourite stops at the Avenida Food Hall. The katsu on rice is superb. Fresh shredded cabbage, perfectly sticky rice, the crispiest katsu topped with sweet and flavourful sauces. Had it a number of times now and it’s always consistently excellent with a great portion size.
The service is super nice and quick, exactly what you want from a place like this. Highly recommend!“

“It's a small restaurant and can be very busy sometimes. Some of the best Korean food I've had in Calgary. Soondubu Jjigae had great flavour and had tons of tofu. Loved the soup.
Gamjatang was nice as well but wish there was more cabbage. It's mostly the bones but the soup was good.
Banchan was good. Loved the fishcakes.“

“I came here for the first time and enjoyed this hole-in-the-wall restaurant. It is easy to overlook the location next to the 7-11. I recommend that you do not overlook it anymore.
This is a Korean restaurant that specializes in piping hot soups. They don't really have many other foods here, but the soups are perfect for warming you up on a cold Winter's Day.
The staff speak very good English here so do not fret about not speaking Korean here.
I really enjoyed the complimentary side dishes that come with the meals. They will refill them if asked to do so.
The interior decor is a bit run down, but the star of the show is definitely the food.
Parking is free here but DO NOT FORGET TO SCAN THE QR CODE ON THE WALL AT THE FRONT OF THE RESTAURANT! They will ticket you if you don't.“

“First time at Sole and our group had a good time. The pricing is reasonable and they offer a lot more food options than other karaoke spots in town. Plus the service was fast.
We were given some complimentary soju, which was new to most of us, but it tasted great and was a nice surprise. The table layout made it a bit awkward to get up from our seats. The song selection was decent, though there were still quite a few songs we couldn’t find, but there was also an option to connect your phone via Bluetooth and display songs on the screen.
As a note if each person in your group spends a minimum of $35, the room rate is waived.“

“I recently visited Gogi Resto in Calgary for some Korean BBQ, and it was a great experience overall. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere and the food came out quickly, which is always a plus for an all-you-can-eat spot.
The selection of meats was fresh—especially the pork belly and beef slices, which cooked nicely on the grill. I also enjoyed the fried chicken and sides; the kimchi and dipping sauces added a lot of flavor to the meal. The lettuce wraps were fresh and perfect for balancing the richness of the grilled meat.“
