“I recently visited Gogi Resto in Calgary for some Korean BBQ, and it was a great experience overall. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere and the food came out quickly, which is always a plus for an all-you-can-eat spot.

The selection of meats was fresh—especially the pork belly and beef slices, which cooked nicely on the grill. I also enjoyed the fried chicken and sides; the kimchi and dipping sauces added a lot of flavor to the meal. The lettuce wraps were fresh and perfect for balancing the richness of the grilled meat.“

“I ordered the regular flavor Jokbal (braised pig's trotter).
It came with Jokbal, Jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodles), Tonkatsu (pork cutlet), rice cake skewers (Tteok-kkochi), Ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), salted shrimp sauce, raw garlic&jalapenos, Tonkatsu sauce, pickled radish, macaroni salad, and romaine lettuce.
The moment my daughter saw the rice cake skewer, she immediately grabbed a piece and ate it.
It tastes exactly like the authentic flavor you'd get in Korea. In fact, if this place were in Korea, it would undoubtedly be a famous gourmet restaurant.
I am deeply grateful to this restaurant for letting us enjoy 100% authentic Korean flavors right here in Calgary, not even in Korea.
Also, slicing Jokbal this thinly is an incredibly difficult task that requires highly advanced knife skills.
The combination of the Jokbal and the salted shrimp sauce is simply perfection—it completely washes away all the fatigue of the day.

And it goes without saying that the staff are incredibly kind.“

“In bow vallet square, +15 connected food court. Has lineup. Fast assembly line. Good number of topping extras, and you chose your heat and meat. Lots of sauce. I like sweet and found it very sweet, the chicken was too sweet, but still okay. Value good for current prices, around $12.“

“Amazing expierience at Chun Jang👍! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and made the visit warm and enjoying while the music upped the vibe🎵🎵🎵. We oppening was delayed because of a power outage but we had no rush. The food was amazing. Personnaly as Koreans that visited Calgary as a trip, it was the best k-food I ate in Canada by far. The visuals were awesome and the taste was even better. They even gave us free dumplings which whould be like $10 here. Enjoyed the expirience a lot.“

The beef bone soup is very sweet and delicious, and the jokeal are tender and taste good. Water-cooled noodles are super good! Every side dish is very good with the meal.

We enjoyed the seafood pancake, the sweet and spicy chicken which was crispy and seasoned well and the cold noodle which was refreshing on a hot day. Their Jeyuk Deopbap is perfect as a one-pot meal and the fried dumplings are always a treat as a shareable plate. Bring your friends and experience delectable Korean food.“

“Just had the Kim's boneless chicken bites, (spicy). One of the best dishes I have ever had. I don't live anywhere near the farmers market but anytime I go near there I will be stopping and picking up an order. I took it to go so that I could share with my wife, meaning I saved her a piece lol. I told them they need to bottle this sauce and sell it. The spicy sauce is sweet at first but then has a spicy kick but it's not out of hand so I think just about anyone could enjoy it.“

We stopped in on a rainy day craving something hot, and it absolutely hit the spot. I ordered the Kimchi Soup, and it was delicious. The spice level was perfect, the flavor was rich and comforting, and it arrived literally boiling hot, just like a homemade soup should. Definitely be careful if you’re hungry and in a rush!

My partner ordered the seafood noodle soup, and let’s just say the spice level was no joke. She’s breathing fire like a dragon right now and looks like she just came back from Korea!

The prices are incredibly reasonable. Honestly, not much different than what you’d spend at a fast-food place, but the quality is on a completely different level. Fresh, flavorful, filling, and comforting.

The atmosphere is very simple and feels more like a cafeteria than a restaurant, and that’s probably the only thing I would improve. But once the food arrives, you quickly stop caring because everything tastes so good.

The gentleman working there (possibly the owner) was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service with a smile.

“Honestly this place is amazing. The staff are very attentive and bring the korean standard of excellence to the west. The quality stood out to me. In particular how the pork is prepared, very juicy and delicious with zero gaminess.

The one and only criticism I have is that the sets are a bit pricey. I think a 2$ drop (sub-20) would bring it to that 5 star level. I just cannot reasonably justify the more premium price points with what it is (not to discredit the magical experience I had).

Still 100% recommend this location, the pork alone is worth it. I recommend reserving ahead of time as this location gets prettt busy - with that said, the staff were very friendly about it. I just walked around the nearby shoppers and grocery for 25 minutes.

The whole dish was amazing, hefty portions so it’s definitely a two-person dish. We started eating here when it was the OG owner. Then the restaurant was sold and new owners didn’t hold up to its reputation. We’re so happy that the OG owner bought the business back and brought in a reputable chef. “Had a great experience at this Korean restaurant. The soups with rice were absolutely delicious! We orderes S5 & S8, they are rich in flavor with nice layers, yet not overly salty.

My family also mentioned that the restroom was very clean, which is always a plus.

Service was solid too. As soon as we arrived, staff greeted us and kindly asked us to wait while they arranged a table. We were seated pretty quickly, and the menu and water were brought to us right away. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience.

“As with all the other Chungchun restaurants, this location did not disappoint! I tried the mozzarella and chicken corn dog with potato topping and it was delicious! I like the potato topping over the corn flakes and they have a lot of options for sauces and seasonings that really elevate the experience. Chungchun is the only Korean corn dog place that I’ve seen that has a chicken option, most others are either a mix or just beef. I would love it even more if they were able to wrap the chicken in cheese instead of it being to top half cheese and the bottom half meat. This location shares its space with a bubble tea place so if you want a tasty drink with your corndog it’s that much easier! The worker there was so so sweet! She was the only person working so service was a bit slow but they had up a sign to let people know they were short staffed that day. Will definitely be back for more!“
