“Chun Jang delivered a solid and enjoyable meal with several standout dishes. The spicy squid noodle soup was the clear highlight. The broth had a robust pepper-forward profile with a clean heat that did not overwhelm the aromatics, and the portion of squid was notably generous and well prepared. This single dish would justify a return visit.

The fried rice carried the characteristic wok-derived fragrance and paired well with the accompanying black bean sauce, offering a balanced savory element. The black bean noodles were less successful. The sauce leaned toward the sweet end of the spectrum, which limited depth and made it the least preferred item among our group.

The sweet and sour pork met expectations. The coating remained crisp, the sauce was well proportioned, and it functioned as a reliable classic that rounded out the meal.

Overall, Chun Jang offers strong execution on its spicy and savory dishes. The spicy squid noodle soup, in particular, deserves attention for its broth and portion quality.“

“Hanbo Korean Noodle serves some of the best Korean comfort food I’ve had in the city. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the entire experience feels warm and genuine from the moment you walk in. The flavours are rich, comforting, and deeply authentic — the kind of food that feels like it was lovingly cooked at home by someone’s mother.

The noodles were absolutely fantastic, and the seafood pancake was outstanding: perfectly crispy, packed with flavour, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Every dish tasted fresh, homemade, and made with real care.

This place has such a cozy, heartfelt atmosphere that you leave feeling comforted and already looking forward to coming back.“

“A true hidden gem! I discovered Kin Dee while in Calgary for a month-long deployment for the G7, and it quickly became one of my favorite lunch spots. The Lao-Thai dishes are fresh, flavorful, and affordable. As someone with Lao roots, I really appreciated the authentic Lao options on the menu—hard to find and beautifully done. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. Sad to leave, but I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!“

“10/10, would highly recommend this company. We were so impressed with the professionalism and organization of the beautiful renovations team. From the very first meeting with Harman and Alexa, they came across as experienced, thoughtful and transparent. The quote was reasonable and detailed. Communication from the project manager, Ari, was excellent. Victor was at our house all day everyday. He was so respectful and thorough and really treated our home as though it was his own. All of the trades were amazing, professional, and so kind to our family. When Harman and Alexa told us they could complete our kitchen in 3.5 weeks, including the removal of a wall, ceiling, rerouting plumbing, ductwork and electrical, we thought they were nuts. They completed the job on time and on budget. My wife and I are type A’s, accountants, really obsessed with details and these folks were up to our high standards. Alexa allowed us to own the design and pick all of the finishes which was important to us, while steering us in the right direction. The cabinets are very good quality and the installer was a serious perfectionist. Asking for our input throughout install day to make sure we were completely satisfied.

We now have our dream kitchen, better than every expectation that we had.

“One of our few regular go to sushi places. We typically order the agedashi tofu, mixed tempura, salmon sashimi and special rolls. All great. Very efficient service (kudos to the kitchen staff) and servers are excellent, headed by Mina who is both friendly and welcoming. Place is small so make reservations on Fridays and weekends in particular. Try it.“

“Tucked deep in the heart of downtown after a few twists and turns through the +15 corridor you’ll find a true hidden gem serving an absolutely killer curry beef brisket noodle soup. I think I may have just found my go-to spot for that deep, rich curry fix.

The broth? Unreal. Thick, bold, and packed with flavor — it instantly reminded me of classic Hong Kong–style beef curry, the kind you’d normally pair with rice, but transformed into this beautifully balanced, soul-warming noodle soup. Every spoonful hits with that slow-cooked richness. Hands down, the best thing I’ve eaten in 2026 so far.

The space itself isn’t overly busy, with plenty of seating to settle in and enjoy your bowl. Service is warm and welcoming the aunties at the front are incredibly kind and make the whole experience feel homey.

And then there’s the condiment station… a dream setup. Four different types of chili to match whatever mood you’re in: fresh pickled jalapeños, chili oil, sriracha, and chili paste. Absolute heaven for spice lovers.“

“Incredible food, I've never had a bad meal here. The food here is very authentic and not bland like other Vietnamese restaurants in the south of Calgary. The prices are very decent for what you are getting, and its always been nice and easy to come in for a meal. The spring rolls are fried fresh and are super delicious, and the vegetables and meat we get are always fresh as well. Very well portioned food and the pho sate is very tasty, they use real peanuts and sate. (Peanut butter/paste seems to be a common shortcut for Vietnamese restaurants when they make Pho Sate)
The owners are lovely wonderful people, they have always been kind to us when we come in and have even put in the effort to remember our orders by heart. We don't even have to order anything, we just have our food brought to us. They give us service unlike most restaurants and I think this is one of the best Vietnamese restaurant in the South of Calgary.
The restaurant is a little run down, but that doesn't stop me from coming in for a delicious bowl of pho.
If you live in the area is definitely worth coming in for take out or dine in.“

“This is an old-school Cantonese Noodle House restaurant. There isn't anything flashy about this restaurant. The wok-hey was awesome, especially for their noodle and fried rice dishes. The staff were very hardworking and courteous. Prices and portions were excellent. The restaurant was drab and could be cleaner.“

“We found this gem of a place while getting lost in Calgary! We were looking for a place to eat but yelp led us to a closed down building. We saw a Subway across the street and was about to settle on that for dinner when my friend saw the Filipino flag next door. That’s when we knew, we found good food. “Wish I would have taken pictures! I got the stir fry beef vermicelli bowl and the veggie salad rolls. The fish sauce was different than I'm used to, but I was pleasantly surprised how good it was! I liked it better than most fish sauces I've tried. The spring rolls were crispy and delicious.
The salad rolls were HUGE! There needs to be more peanut sauce served with them for how big they are! The peanut sauce was good but not the best I've had.
Overall the food was fresh, hot and flavourful. The service was quick and friendly! I would definitely eat here again.“

We ordered their preserved egg congee with chili sauce, beef brisket, plain rice roll with side of soy sauce, peanut sauce and hoisin, and the steam pork and with pumpkin. All the food we ate were delicious, and very filling. Cravings satisfied.“

“I like the dimsum here! Also love the HK cafe options. Service is about as you'd expect from any other Chinese/dimsum restaurant - you do have to expect to be chasing down a server if you want something immediately. Speaking Cantonese (or Mandarin) would like get quicker service. Food arrives at lightning speed and is hot and fresh. No complaints.“
