“Cute family run Thai restaurant. They were very friendly and the food was excellent. The Thai spicy was actually spicy. My favourite dishes was the tamarind fish, pineapple rice and the pork skewers. There are a lot of items I will be going back to try.“
“Absolutely delicious wrap!!! As a vegan I always struggle to find good food. This place well exceeded my expectations and the service was impeccable! Will be returning when I come back to Calgary! (Got the ginger chick’un wrap and subbed beets for cucumber)“
“We ordered dinner for pick up and our food was fabulous! We've tried a lot of Indian restaurants in Calgary and OM is at the top of our list now. Food was spiced perfectly, meat was tender and their pakoras were delicious!! Everything was packaged in spill proof recyclable containers too which made post dinner clean up a breeze. We will be back!!“
“Authentic small family owned restaurant, The two chiefs are parents, and two kids are working in the front, they are working very hard to serve the community during this tough time. Such a great interior design very unique!!!! you can't find it any where in town, you can see how commitment they do what they love and have passion for and not to mention the food is amazing and delicious with full of flavor and spices. My favorite dishes were papaya salad, Pad Thai and Green Curry Chicken. Excellent service with great hospitality. Definitely recommend this restaurant!!!“
“Only ordered from Skip to my work (not far so food travels great). Ordered it a few times now and tried 3 different menu items. The pad thai was alright. The green curry is possibly the best I've had in Calgary. It is silky and has some spice to it. There is plenty of sauce so that you can easily turn this into two meals. I have had the green curry 3 times and all 3 times enjoyed it just as much.Today I am currently eating the drunken noodles. Spicy and delicious and now tied with the green curry for best dish there for me.You want Thai? Try this place! It for sure beats out other Thai places in the area. I have tried many :)“
“Today I went to the Avenida food Hall , I was walking around checking out what was there , when this familiar smell of deliciousness pulled me back to being 19 & my time in Thailand. Bangkok street food is the real deal ! . Their Tom yum is a spicy hug in a bowl , the ice coffee is the perfect mix of strong, sweet and creamy . I'm looking forward to going back & trying more of their menu items. Thank you for the walk down memory lane today with your amazing food.“
“I can’t say enough good things about the customer service, The staff and the owner went above and beyond to make sure we had a great meal and an even better experience. Me and my daughter would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!Kid-friendliness: My eight-year-old daughter is a picky eater to say the least but the staff made sure she was full and happy… makes my life much easier“
“What a nice spotService was great, they never bothered us,The food tasted great we wiped out the platesWill go again to try the buffet it is only 20 bucksThe vibes, the decorations, everything is worth itI jussst wish they put more meat, all restaurants never do“
“Tried it for the first time recently and ordered red curry chicken with pineapple and it satisfied the craving! The curry is on the mild side (for me) for a red curry but there were a lot of pineapple chunks. The chicken was a little dry/tough but overall dish was aromatic. I like that there are some self-serve toppings like cilantro, crushed peanuts, chilli oil, etc. Most likely will be back to try other dishes/items.“
“This place is amazing! Not only is the food always on point but the staff are fantastic!! Their customer service is always friendly and great. They go above and beyond with any extra requests you may have from more sauce to food sensitivities/ allergies. We have been coming here for about a year now and love it every single time!! Thank you so much!Vegetarian options: The bowls are customized so no animal protein if you don't want itDietary restrictions: Let them know of any dietery issues and they will work with you to build a bowl friendly to your gutParking: Parking is tight, as it's a small lot, but if you go when the daycare isn't letting out, you'll be fine!Kid-friendliness: They have a few kid friendly options on their menu. Selection is limited for kids but delicious. My son is in love with the kids mac and cheese and always asks for extra cheese sauce, which they always give him without issue.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a sidewalk out front that is narrow but definitely wheelchair accessible.“
“The first time we came here, we told the waitress we may just have to move to Calgary so we can come here again! We moved here about 6 months later and couldn't wait to come in to say hi. All the food is delicious. The restaurant has a great ambiance, and the service is very welcoming.“
“Upon entering the restaurant you are immediately transported to the tropical place. Decorated with plants, traditional Thai clothing and table settings gives out a refreshing vibe to the place that you'll feel transported to Thailand. The food was great, the spicy level is adjustable according to your taste. The food portion is great for the price. We had enough left overs for two people. Highly recommend their Special whole Tilapia dish with tamarind sauce for $30. Service is phenomenal, upon entering you are greeted by the host wearing traditional Thai clothing. The service was fast and efficient. Recommended for date nights.“
“We'd been wanting to try this place for quite some time, and finally decided to go for a Friday night dinner date. So glad we did! Started with the Tom Yum Goong soup, then for entrees we shared Drunken Prawns and the Pineapple Fish (Basa), with a side of coconut rice. It was all so flavourful, I wanted to lick the plates! Service was friendly, upbeat, and efficient. We will be back!“
“Really great service. I had the pad Thai there, it was good. We ordered the basil chicken stir fried, it was a bit dry. The restaurant offer to exchange or refund me. It was so kind. I’m sure will come back many times! Thank you so much for your food and service. Wish you the best and hope many customers visit your restaurant!“
“Photos: pad thai, duck and eggplant yellow curry, crying tiger beef. All three tasted great, although portions were on the smaller side. Mild spice level was still pretty spicy with some dishes, so I'd err on the safe side when ordering. Bill came to about $100 including tip for 3 people.“
“Never been before but had a craving for rice and curry. Order the cashew chicken and chicken green curry.Overall it was ok. The cashew chicken had bits that were not breaded. It was an unsatisfying experience to go through the bowl. Green curry was better but still quite unremarkable.Spring rolls were very greasy.Ate it 2min after pick up, was very fresh and hot.Place is a bit unappealing. Couple tables but no ambience. I'll try them again“
“I come here a couple times a week to grab my frozen vegan meals that I just throw on a frying pan and then serve with rice! Can’t go wrong. They are quick and easy to prepare at home. The owners and their staff are extremely friendly, and I look forward to seeing them every visit!“
“Unlike what other reviews said, service was fairly fast for me. The deep fried tofu had perfect texture, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The pad Thai wasn’t quite to my taste - the noodles were a bit mushy and too sweet, and I wish there were more beansprouts - but that’s just personal preference. Objectively, it was fine.“
“Really enjoy thai fried rice with fish but over time noticed rice and fish serving has decreased considerably!Wish they had halal options and more fish and rice in the fried rice please!Parking: Lots of parking spaceKid-friendliness: Kids only have escalators, elevators or an a stuffy ride. Plenty of space to walk around.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessibleHas elevator“
“Sesame offers a delicious array of Asian dishes with generous portions that you can order to take out or dine in. They also have a wide variety of flavours of bubble tea. The food comes hot out of the wok full of flavour and freshness. The meat is seasoned to perfection and the noodles are drenched in tasty sauces. The Singapore noodles really stood out and so did the Spicy Cumin Lamb Noodles.“
“Cute place. That’s the first thing I said when I walked in. I love how this place is perched a little up from the sidewalk and is on the corner of the building. It has a cool little local vibe.We got there pretty early for dinner. Parking was a little painful as there is a lot of road work going on in the area.Menu was extensive and authentic. The papaya salad was perfect, pineapple fried rice was unique, we got fried tofu with a peanut/satay dipping sauce which was yummy, we got pork larb which you gotta try if you haven’t already! Also the Thai red curry and we fished with a deep fried banana. It was a lot of food! Too much actually, but we were happy to have left overs the next day. This is a great place to have authentic Thai food at fair prices and in a cute atmosphere. Perfect with a few friends or even a first date!“
“This place deserves 10 stars. I’ve been coming here for a few years now, and the food has been consistent every time. The bbq chicken that comes with the mango salad is so so good. Some other favourites are the curries and the ho fun noodles. Great service and humble and generous staff. Thank “
“Ever since I’ve come to know this place, this has been my go-to comfort food in the area. The portions are a lot for the price you pay and honestly tastes excellent. And has lots of variety dishes. The staff here are super kind and friendly. Shoutout to Luke our server! Also huge appreciation for such a beautiful decorated restaurant (even in the women’s washroom).“
“What a lovely tucked away gem!We went here for an impromptu dinner and it was outstanding. The people were very welcoming and the food was so good! I found the portions to be a bit smaller than other Thai restaurants but still just the right amount. Just no yummy leftovers to take home. ?“
“Best Pad Thai I’ve ever had! This is our go to Thai place. The food is always fresh, rich in flavour and generously portioned while also reasonably priced. Would drive/order to the other side of town for this restaurant. Very personable personnel. Amazing food served that’s family owned and operated for many years. Tried thai from other places in town and also when lived in BC, Chili Island is simply the best.“
“My family visited bamboo garden for the first time on lunar new year day. And their food was really good!We have been curious of this place, we ordered mu-shi beef dish, black pepper sizzling beef, and pork dumplings. I have never had mu-shi dish, it came with beef and veggie stir fry with thick sauce, and we wrapped it with thin wrapper like Peking duck wrapper. We quite enjoyed it, 6 wrappers were not enough!Sizzling beef was served real hot, it was tasty and beef was so tender. Pork dumplings were also really good, it is pot sticker style with thick dumpling wrapper.Service was 5 stars, so friendly and felt well taken care of(but also we were the only customer at that night so not sure how busy they usually get). The restraint is located on 2nd floor of old building. Decor was retro feeling, the whole building smelt a bit moldy from all the carpeting.Price is decent and they also have free delivery & pick up discount, I’d love to order take out next time!Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible, it is on 2nd floor with no elevator.“
“I was visiting family in the area and decided to get take out. As it was just me I got the Dinner for One. I am usually very picky with my Chinese food and don’t step out of my core two or three Chinese food restaurants. The food was SO fresh. Spring rolls weren’t greasy. And exploded with tons of veggies. The fried rice was fluffy and was light and delicious. Ginger beef was excellent. Veggies crisp and fresh. This dinner for one is actually going to be three portions for me. It’s about a 20 min drive from my house, but I’ll make the drive.“
“Ordered 2 soups here via Uber eats. Tom yum and Tom Kha. They took into account the wishes and made it not spicy, the packaging was ok, the presentation was nice. But I didn't like it. It was too sour for me. My husband said it's a great hangover soup.“
“Ordered sushi through UberEats. The taste of the sushi was great. As a person who has been ordering the same 3 kinds of sushi for the last 2 years, the Inari sushi (bean curd sushi) needs to have the tofu pockets all around it, not just on top. Also, their Ebi (shrimp) nigiri was smaller than I am used to.“
“J.P. owner/ manager is a great guy who is very welcoming. You place your order and in barely 10 minutes. The food is so very tasty and hot and delicious. It is a wonderful place to dine in. If you go late at night you might hear JP singing. He has a wonderful voice! This is a 10 out of 5 star place!“
“BRING BACK THE CRYING TIGER PLEASE!!! ALSO SAD THEY DONT HAVE FULL MENU ON DOORDASH ETC. I want to order Larb!! Best Thai food ever. Don't alter, change menu or recipes ...keep it like 2003. Bring back crying tiger ?PS: To anyone reading this, please note that all dishes are very small, as in extremely small portions. My 9 yr old very thin child can polish off any plate herself and still be hungry so as Adults you basically need 2 of every dish so it's extremely expensive“
“In a word......fantastic. That said, this was my first visit and I had the kashmiri lamb with a garlic naan which was definitely a 10/10 lunch. I will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes. Very friendly staff behind the counter.“
“Coming from a guy who eats pho 4 times a week I have to say this is the best pho I have ever had, my only regret tho is that this place is a 45 min drive from work and since eating there pho I have been extremely disappointed in any other restaurant near me on there pho, I am seriously contemplating on getting a new job and a new house closer to these guys so I no longer have to deal with the current disappointment of any other pho near me“
“Excellent food. I didn't see it on their menu but you came make your meal a combo for $18-19 which includes a main, appetizer and drink. I had their pork ribs (appi) and spicy beef noodles dish. It was one of the better meals I've ever had.“
“I m Thai and I m tourism visiting here, And I found this restaurant, I ordered Pad Thai and Cauliflower appy, turned out I didnt expecting too high on the food but Pad Thai really good and I really like the sauce came with deep fried cauliflowers. And the cashier is really nice service, I didnt know here name, she is a tiny girl, she is very friendly. Finally I will surely be back again“
“This is a beautiful restaurant run by beautiful people. I always get the tofu pad thai with medium spice (best tofu I’ve ever had). Being a regular customer they know my order without even asking; adding such a personal touch and it’s perfect every time. Thanks so much and I can’t wait to come again!“
“Amazing dinner!! Might sound like a fast food but restaurant quality! Great customer service and amazing staff. Clean, fast service and really good food. Highly recommend. Owner is amazing too!!will come back for sure!!!!Vegetarian options: They can customize your food also if you are vegan :)“
“We had a fantastic experience here! I can’t believe I live just a few blocks away and had never been. We had salad rolls, the beef jerkey, Tom Kha soup, pad see ew and Massaman Ribs. Everything was 10/10 and the service was just as good - lovely staff, very attentive and friendly. Would absolutely recommend and we’ll definitely be back!!“
