“A true hidden gem! I discovered Kin Dee while in Calgary for a month-long deployment for the G7, and it quickly became one of my favorite lunch spots. The Lao-Thai dishes are fresh, flavorful, and affordable. As someone with Lao roots, I really appreciated the authentic Lao options on the menu—hard to find and beautifully done. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. Sad to leave, but I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!“

“This Thai restaurant in Calgary is absolutely wonderful! The food is full of authentic Thai flavours. I loved their Tom Yum Soup, nicely balanced in spice and sweetness. Ingredients taste fresh, portions are generous. The staff are warm and helpful, service is fast. The dining space is clean and cozy. Great spot for casual dine‑in or takeout. “Food is good, but service is exceptional. Service deserves 6 stars. I believe I was helped by Chaitanga. He greeted me, offered to help pick a selection, explained the differences between dishes and selections I was interested in, and was able to have the kitchen customize the dish the way I wanted. Was friendly to everyone nearby even if they weren't ordering. I'd highly recommend this place based on this alone. I've done customer service for 25 years and it's extremely rare that any service worker behaves as though they have a personal stake in the outcome.

However. No fountain drink selection, the cutlery was pretty flimsy (fork bent way too easily), and the bowl/packaging it's served in has a nice presentation but is very impractical to try to eat from. The walls of the box are flexible by design and this makes it hard to keep the food together. And given the price of the meal (red curry, can of pop and coconut shrimp was $25) I don't think it's unreasonable to expect slightly better quality in these areas. I'd recommend a rigid walled box with the same opening design on top.“

“Very delicious and flavourful food at a reasonable price. Tried the spicy peanut noodle and it was great! The sauce was really yummy, and the actual noodles themselves were very tasty. I'm not a fancy guy, I don't know if the noodles are fresh made or what, but they're delicious. The service was also fantastic. Pretty sure it was the manager, but the guy helping us was very informative without being pushy. If you're willing to download apps, they even have some better deals and extra perks for free membership.“

“California Thai has been a mainstay of Beacon Hill for almost 17 years. We have tried virtually everything they have on the menu, from the mango chicken salad to the curries, fried rice and various noodle dishes, and everything is always tasty and consistent.

This time we had the chicken ho fun (oyster sauce style) and general tso chicken with rice and they were both great. You can customize the heat level as well.

They are our go-to place if we're in the neighborhood and want a quick bite to eat.“

“I order from here frequently off doordash, never had any mistakes ... today a girl forgot to put the can of pop in my order (no big deal $2.00 haha) but she was nice enough to call me and inform me that she tried to call the dasher to return in which he didn't answer. She was so apologetic and honestly I am just happy with the good communication from the staff member even though a mistake was made. “Me and my girlfriend were in the university district and gave this place a shot. Got the black pepper beef noodles and she got the make your own combo with the ginger beef and orange chicken. As you can tell by the picture I devoured it, my plate was loaded, the noodles had a nice bite to them, had lots of beef seasoned to perfection. My girlfriend’s ginger beef was fried so well, not a lot of batter, crisp on the outside and you can tell they used real ginger in the sauce, same thing with the orange chicken. Overall this place is a step up from traditional fast food Chinese places and with great prices. Gonna be my go to spot for Chinese food for sure!“

“I just tried their devil’s chicken and it was a different level of spice - Nothing I have ever encountered before and I grew up drinking Tabasco bottles straight from the bottle at the age of five.

If you want a spice challenge, try this dish I was literally seeing circles by the last six bites. It is by far the spiciest curry I’ve ever had at a commercial restaurant and as an original recipe that they provide.

It’s not just spice, but it’s a very flavourful too

I can’t really imagine many people enduring it and trying it and living Through it to talk about it to others lol !!!!!!!!

The takeout boxes are so pretty, they make you excited to eat! 5 stars for the box choice!! The food itself was delicious. We worried the portions were going to be too small, but they were really filling. Our only critic was the portion size for the crying cowboy ribs. It was small. There were only 4 small pieces in the container. Maybe we just wanted more because they were so tasty.“

I’ve been coming to Thai Express for a long time and always order the same dish. This time there was a small mix-up with the sauce, but the way it was handled truly impressed me. When I called, he immediately checked the ingredients, realized what happened, and kindly made two fresh vegan dishes for me free of charge. Honest mistake, but outstanding customer service and integrity. Food is always great and they genuinely care about their customers. Highly recommend supporting this place.“

“I ordered item #63 Bean Curd in Peanut Red Curry for takeout from their menu and it was a good portion and so delicious! The peanut flavour is not strong, it blends in quite nicely. It’s not overly spicy either. I’d say it has a medium spice level. I also noticed that they stay on top of updating their website if their hours change on special holidays. Compliments to the chef!“

We enjoyed the ordering system; everything was fast and really delicious. The hologram is a unique piece to decor and quite interesting to watch. Desserts are amazing; we absolutely loved Mangoccino. Backrop: ordered the spicy noodle soup a couple of months ago and it was horrible, looked awful, tasted bad and was cold.

Today I mustered the courage to try again, as I needed warm soup for the cold weather and this time the soup was a game changer.

My order, looked very appealing, hot as expected and very delicious. It was so good I had to go back to drop a compliment and found that Mittal prepared it. Please keep up this standard Tuk Tuk and thank you, Mittal.“
