“Always wanted to try Teppanyaki! First date night in soooo long and WOW the atmosphere, staff and food was amazing! Best night we have had in such a long time. 100% be back it’s definitely our favourite place to go to now! Would definitely recommend this brilliant restaurant to anyone as it will not disappoint!!!“
“I have bad digestion issues that make me very sensitive to my food. I have been in a bad flare for some time and the sushi here is reliably safe for me. It is incredibly fresh and delicious, it is priced at excellent value, and the service is top tier. I'm happy the staff hasn't been judgmental about me going here almost every day for the past two weeks.“
“Maria is such a wonderful host, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. It’s far and away the best sushi I’ve ever had, and the presentation of the dishes is simply beautiful. To quote the name of the T.V. show, "You Gotta Eat Here!"“
“Higher-end Korean sushi bar serving freshly prepared items in-front of customers as well as back kitchen. Pricing is reasonable and good portions also. Very friendly chefs and service always checking on the customer to ensure a comfortable dining experience.“
“Service is as good as I remember. The ambiance is Satsuki is always nice ans quiet. It environment a nice environment to catch up without shouting over each other. The fish is fresh and plating is delicate which enhance our gal lunch hangout experience.“
“I've been here twice for lunch the past week and have to say they have such amazing lunch combos/deals! The nigiri and sushi rolls are fresh and delicious! I look forward to coming back to try their other dishes and hope to come and try their dinner menu soon :).“
“What a nice surprise this place was. Excellent sushi quality. Better than many in town.Prices here are great for the quality and considering the huge increases in the prices of everything in 2024 in general. For a group of 3 (2 adults and a child), we spent approx $250 for dinner with a sake and a yam panna cotta. Not cheap, but for reference, we've spent double before and left hungry at a restaurant downtown. Here, we were full but not to the point of indigestion. Similar quality blue fin toro elsewhere in the city was $15 per piece. This place gives you 3 pieces for this same price. If all sushi is the same to you or you can't tell what is good or not (i.e. supermarket cooler sushi tastes good to you) then save your money and go to the restaurants closer to Chinook. The menu here is good. Some standard main fare and a good selection of special /unique items. The California roll, dynamite roll and miso soups were the least impressive. Everything else was wonderful. If it was not for my kiddo, I wouldn't have ordered the first 3 items. But, they were not bad at all and my kid loved them. The tempura is exceptional. Crispy, not too mich batter and flavorful. The shrimp and unagi nigiri were delicious and prepared perfectly, not mushy and also not dry nor smothered in sauce. 2 items created well above the average Calgarian Japanese restaurant standard. Oshi was well balanced, creative, and wonderfully smokey.Plating was beautiful with natural items like pretty flower petals for spota of colour. Zero plastic items was also a plus. This small restaurant is in a very basic strip mall with an underwhelming exterior. Inside it is decorated nicely in a lovely classic minimalistic design. I especially liked the very nice selection of pottery pieces used for table settings and decor accents.Good place for a small family dinner, lunch with friends, or a casual date spot. Great food but not at all pretentious. Vibe is mellow and relaxed. Service is attentive and food preparation is perfectly timed.I think if you want a truly romantic date night meal though, another place might be better unless they dim the lights for evening service. I feel it's a bit bright otherwise. For eating out with a large group, I'd recommend calling in advance so they can move some tables and seats together.Hopefully, this restaurant will stay around. It's a very good one. We'll make an effort to be back whenever we visit South Calgary.Parking: You may have to walk a short distance, but it's a big parking lot that always has room. Just fills up closer to all the store fronts.“
“The Ryuko SE branch is one of my favorite restaurants. But it was far away, so I couldn't go often. So it was nice to have a West branch near my house. So I made a reservation today and went there. But the food was a little different from what I knew. The sushi in the premium sushi set was smaller than the East branch (especially salmon) and it was disappointing that there were no sesame seeds in the chicken katsu sauce. Next time, I'll visit the East branch again“
“This is the spot! Whether you’re a steadfast regular diner, or you stumble upon this place for the first time, you are in great hands. Whether you pop in for a quick bite or take time to experience the harmony of their food and incomparable sake offerings, you will be delighted. It’s a great day when Sukiyaki House is part of it.“
“Sushi Hiro, a (Japanese) family-owned authentic Japanese restaurant, has been one of my favorite spots for sushi ever since I moved to Calgary.Featuring:- Chirashi SushiTheir sushi is always fresh and flavors so authentic. I always like to start with a sip of the miso soup because I like to taste it when it's still hot. For me, the taste of miso soup often gives me a good preview of the quality of food you're about to eat.The Chirashi Sushi comes in a traditional bento box, which is unique from the usual Chirashi Don we see where it comes in a bowl of rice with fish on top. It's hard to eat sushi with my daughter because she can't eat raw food yet and I often feed her whatever I order for myself, but with the Chirashi Sushi from Sushi Hiro, the rice comes in a separate compartment, as well as the tamago and imitation crab which my daughter could eat, so we could all enjoy a nice meal ?.They also went through renovations in the last few years so the space is smaller now. They got rid of the tatami floor seating, which I liked... But I was happy that the food still tastes good!“
“Such a cute place!! I instantly felt warm and fuzzy on the inside as soon as I walked in! ? This place has an awesome vibe & energy, and workers who are SUPER sweet. The food was amazing! The texture of the fish is wonderful, and the rolls are just the right size!! I will DEFINITELY be coming back often. Thank you very much! ??“
“Where is the option for 70 billion stars? My husband and I had the most incredible dining experience EVER. From the first bite to the last, we were completely blown away with the quality and presentation. Our server Jamie was attentive and an absolute gem.Honestly, the most delicious plates we have ever had. We will be back, tomorrow… haha“
“The poke is absolutely delicious! I love that you can pick what goes in it so I could have one that was all veg and protein and no rice. The ingredients are really really fresh too. This is a place you go for delicious food, not for the atmosphere. But if you want to eat in, it’s clean and bright and the staff there are lovely too. definitely adding it to my list of regular faves.Parking: There’s a small parking lot behind the building. A definite plus in busy Marda loop.“
“I absolutely loved the old Sushi Crave so hadn't been back since but I finally tried it today and it was amazing, and possibly better than the original. The service was impeccable and the black dragon roll was fantastic! The atmosphere is very different and works very well with the space (think anime cafe vibe). Also love the love note chest ❤️“
“Love this local sushi place. Sushi is delicious and staff so kind. We get take out and dine in here. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cute and welcoming. My children enjoy picking out a complimentary candy after their meals. Great neighbourhood sushi option!“
“I just want to thank Kinjo for their exceptional service! We had a little mix app with our order tonight and the management/staff went above and beyond to help! I'm truly grateful, what they didn't know is that it was my 9 year old son's special treat for doing so well in school which he was looking forward to all week so they just made his day (and mine)! Not to mention how amazing the food is and the Almond Pocky's which we are now obsessed with!!!! Thank you so much, I can't wait for more sushi! :) Your loyal customer, Jackie“
“Woah! Absolutely delicious & fresh food! Ordered Hojicha Pancake & Heaven Crab. Hojicha Pancake tasted of Hojicha tea. Very interesting toppings like Boba, Hojicha tea, extremely fresh fruit of white strawberries, blueberries &green grapes, syrup & cream. Heaven Crab was out of this world! Made up of soft shell Crab Tempura, Scrambled Eggs, sitting on a sourdough bread with very fresh salad mix topping. Comes with hollandaise sauce & ponzu sauce. Will order again!“
“This is my go-to place for comfort food! Excellent service, clean and sanitary environment, and great prices for good quality food!Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is calm and enjoyable for kids and they also have food options that is suitable for children!“
“We are from Vancouver and we were very lucky to have enjoyed excellent sushi while living there.Since moving to Calgary last year, we had to try several locations in Calgary, before discovering Ki Sushi - which we think serves the best sushi in the city.Great menu, and very nice staff. Enjoy!“
“One of the best sushi places in the city. Offer lots of chef created options which is wonderful for when you can’t decide. As well they are one of the only restaurants in the area that have Eel Tempura and Butterfish, and it is astounding. Was not let down by a single dish.Parking: 12 spots connected to the restaurantKid-friendliness: Saw 2 tables with children inside while we were dining“
“This restaurant is hands down the best food in the Calgary airport. We ordered a regular bento box and a side order of spicy tuna rolls. Then the staff went to work immediately, making all of the food fresh to order by hand! Every element of the bento box was delicious and the rolls were fresh and tender. It was some of the best sushi I've had.Kid-friendliness: They were happy to modify the bento box order for my child, making any changes necessary to suit her taste and reduce spice level if desired.“
“Another hidden gem in the NW! Have been fortunate to eat here several times whether it’s just for coffee, lunch or dinner! Owners are very attentive and wanting to please their customers. Food is artful, varied, fabulous and always fresh, restaurant has a cozy and hip design, desserts are divine and great for sharing, and their matcha lattes “un piece de resistance”. Stop by to support this local amazing restaurant and you won’t be disappointed!Kid-friendliness: Great for families and not too busy!“
“Kinjo Sushi & Grill offers a mixed lunch experience. While the sushi and ramen are passable, the standout is definitely the delicious salmon sashimi. Despite some inconsistencies, the prices are reasonable, making it a decent spot for a casual lunch.“
“100% recommend! Food is tasty and they are always so accommodating by being extra careful with allergies and ensuring our large orders are double checked and nothing is missing. Prices are great. Pop cans is $1 and they have large sushi trays available made to order.“
“Love the Millrise Station Calgary location - staff couldn't be friendlier and helpful and very attentive. Ordered sushi but menu has pasta and chicken also if you aren't into fish. The sushi portions are generous and delicious and their specialty rolls are unique and worth trying even just once.“
“Point Sushi offers a unique dining experience with its special ordering system. Using innovative technology, patrons can order their food in a fun and interactive way, adding an element of excitement to the meal. The menu features a variety of sushi options, all of which are freshly prepared and delicious. While the ordering process may take some getting used to, the overall experience is enjoyable and memorable. Worth a visit for those looking for something different in their sushi dining experience.“
“Ordered take out for kids and guests. It was outstanding and probably the best sushi we’ve ever had - and it was ordered out! The prawn tempura was crisp and amazing. The seafood on the sushi and the sashimi were fresh and were huge portions. Totally fresh and delicious. The rolls were also excellent. Totally happy!“
“We always love going here, the food is great, the atmosphere is very nice with a small fish pond at its center and the staff are wonderful! We often go for their lunch specials, which is a great price for the amount of food you get, and if you're planning a date, try their love boat it's great for sharing!“
“Super friendly.Delicious food.Short wait.Nice decor.Quiet inside at 3pm on a Wednesday, but lots of delivery orders going out.We were so excited to eat that we only took a pic of our complimentary amuse bouche.Dynamite roll, spicy Salmon, gyoza.“
“Love the family night out vibe this place has. Family friendly restaurant or a cute date night. Definitely worth the try if you’re in the NE and want to support local. I previewed how fresh everything was made to order and easy to make conversation without loud television overwhelming the restaurant. Would definitely come back again!“
“Looking for authentic Japanese food? Add Globefish Chinook on your list. This is one of our favourite places to go. Best Ramen- Globefish Ramen Umami! , Salmon sashimi - very clean taste, Blossom Roll visually incredible and tastes amazing. Recommend to everyone ?try tuna tataki as well with tabasaco??“
“We came here two time and both times everything was delicious and perfect, we are in love with their sushi rolls. Decent price and friendly service. It’s usually busy here in the evening, especially during happy hour. The service is fast. Mochi ice cream is great ?We tried here seaweed salad, spice salmon and tuna rolls and seafood udon soup and everything was perfect ?“
“Consistent western-accessible Japanese food, with a couple of Korean options thrown in. This chain is not the best sushi restaurant in the city, but it does have a lot of non-sushi options for groups where someone is squeamish about raw fish. They don't give you a free box of pocky anymore, and prices still went up. Must be a difficult time to run a seafood business.A Calgary staple, and a solid one at that. If you haven't been, definitely check it out!“
“Nice sushi place and Japanese restaurant. Though the choices for Vegeterian are limited, whatever is available is great. Loved thier Yam Sushi, Avacado roll , Agadeshi Tofu, and Miso soup. Other items also came out well and tasty. Grilled Mackerel , Dynamite roll is good, too. Recommended place.Vegetarian options: Limited but whatever available is good“
“I'm not sure when this place changed hands or how long ago that was, but Ifor 10+ years I've enjoyed the sushi place here in the past (with the same name the entire time I believe); it was always a good option when I didn't know what I wanted. I didn't eat here for a few years (due to recent events and how that impacted office work), and recently started visiting again. The menu's changed a bit and the staff seem to be different people which is why I suspect it may have changed owners in recent years?I've only had the Omakase since I noticed the possible ownership change and it is seriously tasty - I try to pick a container with sweet shrimp nigiri and aburi salmon. The food here is excellent quality, especially for a grab and go sushi place! Highly recommended, and the service is always friendly. Hands down the best express sushi place I've tried downtown, and rivals some of the order in places (and I've been to many of them in Calgary).“
“This is my new favourite spot! It's a shame I've lived in the neighborhood for a few years and only had dinner here last night, years of missing out. We had the miso, yam tempura (which was incredible) assorted sashimi, the dynamite combo and a few pieces of the butterfish and sockeye salmon. Everything was super fresh and delicious. The staff were awesome, it was busy but they all did a great job keeping up with everyone. Will definitely be coming back here from now on!“
“Kabuku definitely has a solid market share of the north-end of downtown sushi. A bit more expensive than some in the area, they do offer a more varied menu including the spicy rock prawns. Sashimi was fresh, gyoza hot, and the rolls were fairly tasty and well constructed. My only real critique was the $4 green tea. Kabuku also advertizes as supporting local as much as they can, and a portion of their liquor sales are donated to the children's hospital. All in all, I'd definitely eat again but maybe after payday or for a business lunch.“
“My favourite sushi place in Calgary, I can never change the place. They have such delicious menu, my favourites isStampede rolls, Crispy shrimp dumplings, rock’n shrimp?I have another comment about Uber eatsPlease add “Stampede rolls” in Uber eats I sometimes really craving it while I am lazy to go out and I can’t find it in Uber Eats. So please!! ??“
“Always VERY good service! We have been here many times and the food is good and always consistent and it's nice that they have the boat so you can just sit down and eat right away! On this particular day I was home sick and my husband went and picked up take out for us and they kindly rushed our order. Thank you!“
“This sushi spot is a true gem! After trying it a couple of times in Toronto and now here, I can confidently say it's become one of my favorites. Their combo options are a great value, and the rolls are consistently delicious. Whether you're in the mood for classic favorites or want to try something new, this place has it all. Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy some amazing sushi rolls here—highly recommended!“
“The Manager, Chen, and her fantastic Team at Fusion Sushi in Ranchlands are always so good to us when we visit for the All You Can Eat Menu! The sushi is high-quality, the presentation is gorgeous, the portions are generous, the atmosphere of the restaurant is so vibrant and positive! I have brought so many friends, family and business colleagues here to dine and each experience is better than the last! Chen is especially kind, thoughtful, hard-working and treats us like her family!! We love our experiences here and would highly recommend this location for your next evening out :) Keep up the fantastic work, Chen + Fusion Sushi Ranchlands!“
“Excellent food!! So fresh and tasty. Can't wait to go back!My only complaint would be that I wish there were a few more vegetarian sushi options, but I did find a few and they were delightful!Vegetarian options: The yam roll was top notch, I wish their Avocado roll was rolled like the yam roll, but it was still delicious just the way it is!“
“A must try Japanese place in Calgary. Our Waitress took care of our allergy needs with utmost care, As I am severely allergic to shrimp. She checked with kitchen staff multiple times and made sure there is no contamination whatsoever. Great attention to detail be it service wise or food. ?“
“Best sushi place in Calgary, delicious and fresh. I did not have a good experience with delivery services though (the sushis were all mixed), which could be due to the delivery person’s carelessness. Then again, they could have had a better packaging to protect them.“
“Love their poke bowls! Rice is always fresh and they are generous with toppings! Prices are also very reasonable. I’m not one to dwell on service but the cashier lady is always very nice and pleasant so that’s a bonus. There are closer places to my work but I usually walk over to Bow Valley Square because they never disappoint.“
“We went right at 4pm so we were the only people in the place but it was great. We had a dedicated server and the food came out quick and it was so delicious! Fresh oysters for only $1.25 so of course we had to.get a bunch and they were so good. Highly recommend trying out Koto Sushi!“
“The food was incredible good, even more than I was expecting. The service was also really good too. The staff is very nice and friendly. The staff kindly explained the menu. The store was extremely clean. I would definitely visit here again! My friend found a good restaurant on a blog and we went there together, and it was even better than I expected. The owner was kind enough to explain the menu and provide great service. The store was also really clean and tidy. I think I will definitely visit again!“
“Our go-to takeout sushi place! We tried all of the sushi places around 17th and we found this one makes very consistent delicious sushi for a fair price! 20% discount on take-out if you order only and pick it up yourself. Which is great. Highly recommend!“
“I love the idea but I think they can do better. Good selection of toppings but the problem is the rice. Rice inside Inari (the pocket) was pretty dry and cold. If you have inari at a sushi restaurant before you know it should be moist, a bit sweet and sour like the rice itself should be tasty. But don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed those “pockets” and am willing to come back for more. Their fish cake udon was not worth it tho imo. Service was good, very friendly. There was only 1 guy doing everything and running back and forth, you could tell he was trying his best.“
