One of the not many places that has comfortable couches to relax in. I absolutely love this place and bring everyone of my family and friends for a drink when they come to town.

“It was a perfect breakfast for the three of us before we dropped out daughter off at the airport. I had my traditional two eggs over easy with toast sausage and bacon. The two others had some wonderful eggs-benny. My eggs were perfect, the toast was perfect, the bacon was crispy, and the sausages were spicy and succulent, making for a delicious meal. Arlene was wonderful throughout the whole meal so thanks to her especially!“

“Let me start by telling you about the buffalo chicken mac and cheese poutine - absolutely delectable. Some may say scrumdididilydumpsious. The mac and cheese was ooey gooey, cheesy greatness. “Sound Room in Calgary is such a cozy, chill spot. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, with low lighting and a laid-back energy that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The music and overall vibe feel thoughtfully curated without being overwhelming. They also have some really solid drink options, especially if you like something fun and easy to sip. On top of that, the staff were genuinely friendly, kind, and welcoming, which really elevated the experience. A great place to unwind, connect, and enjoy a relaxed night out.“

“This is a classic for us. always great service. Happy hour is excellent. Even when busy, it's one of the few places around that you can have a great meal, enjoy a Guinness and still are able to have a conversation with friends as they don't crank the music so loud like so many other places so you can actually your time with your friends without having to be hunched over like you are all in a huddle to try to hear eachother! “This place is amazing! We tried the Donair pizza, the Butcher and Hawaii 5-0 and it was all delicious. I wanted to shout out Hayley for being awesome - she definitely made our experience here so much better. I will definitely be back whenever I’m in Calgary!“

“The food was incredible! Really interesting dishes that were truly delicious. Portions aren't huge so for two people I'd recommend 3-4 dishes at least. It's also not cheap but the quality was there, at least for the food. It was a bit slow to come out.

The souffle was incredible, really interesting texture and cheesiness. I really enjoyed the duck pie as well, it has a great combination of flavours. The monkfish was incredibly buttery and perfectly cooked; the side vegetables equally good. The cake was phenomenal as well.

Service was decent. Our waitress knew the menu, food was brought out as soon as it was ready, and they checked in the right amount plus refilled waters. Tip started at 18%.

The atmosphere was okay. The art is interesting and I like the open kitchen. It was freezing and a bit loud and bright.

“As someone who enjoys good food, good atmosphere, and staff who enjoy their time sharing their experiences, I would highly recommend coming to see the establishment and it's team.

(Before I even knew who owned the place..) I was informed by the team about the heavy involvement that they play in deciding the menu, protecting the atmosphere, and had a great time seeing the excitement on the faces of the staff when asking for recommendations.

The team is tight knit, the food is on point, the staff are knowledgeable and kind, and I've never had a bad experience, meal, or conversation when attending The Banquet.

“Tried this place for the first time. It was amazing. The shrimp tacos are the best of the basic ones I tried. The house hot sauce was very hot, but very good, and made fresh.
Update: I went again, tried the crispy fish taco as well, it is the new favorite.

“Absolutely loved this place. Everything on the menu is vegan, which is already amazing, but what really stood out was the quality of the cocktails. Honestly, some of the best cocktails I’ve had not just in Calgary, but in Canada. Every drink was beautifully balanced and clearly made with a lot of care and creativity.

Josh, the bartender and owner, is incredibly talented and passionate about what he does. You can really tell he puts a lot of thought into every drink. Katie, our server, was also wonderful, super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better.

Khiana really was amazing and the food was so delicious. Call ahead and try to plan something there and they may be able to arrange a surprise for you.“

“We had my husband's 60th birthday party at Greta YYC on the weekend and I have to say that all 26 of us had an amazing time.
It's a great party atmosphere with a really good gaming concept and the staff are overall very good at what they do. They do have busy times (excellent for them!) though so it gets crowded and you will have to wait to play some games. The music is constant and while it's not really my style, it was kept at a reasonable level so people could still have conversations.
Kudos and my sincere thanks to Molly Norris who expertly guided me and most capably helped organize a great party! She was patient, provided all the important info quickly and made the whole process super simple.
To the chefs, the party food was fabulous! Your street nuggets, Jap chae noodles, Korean wings and Greta nachos were the hits of the evening!
To your reception staff and Manager Sam - thank you for looking after us so well even though my initial schedule was out the window, lol, from the initial greeting, the games challenge and setting out the food. To our server Lauren (I hope I spelled that right!) - you are phenomenal - thank you for handling our section so capably and with so much grace. I do have to apologize to you for the unfortunate minor oversight (a couple of guests forgot to pay and were super embarrassed afterwards) at the end of our fantastic evening. As a novice party organizer, I will definitely take the blame for that one and make sure it doesn't happen again!!
I did take one star off the service BUT nothing on Lauren or other wait staff. It's because I did receive some minor drinks feedback that I thought I would pass on as constructively as possible: a) a couple of our guests found their extra drinks missing when they got back to their tables after playing games but that could be someone slipping by and snitching them - hopefully they weren't cleared away by accident b) some of our guests noted that their drinks had far too much ice on multiple occasions, which created an awkward question of whether they were getting the bang for their buck.
In any case, it was still a awesome night - birthday boy and our guests had a great time and it was definitely money well spent! We will be back but maybe a bit earlier in the evening when it's not overly crowded :)

Highly recommend the guac and chips as it was quite tasty, as well as the Horchata and Pina Picante cider if you like a bit of spice. The burrito was pretty good but could use something refreshing (found out after that there was sauce/salsa available after I had almost finished the burrito). Overall a nice place for some good food and drinks. Worth a visit.“

“Calgarys most popular dive bar. This is a place that tends to be a good spot to socialise and meet strangers. It tends to attract a slightly more older (I won’t say mature) demographic which is nice if you are trying to get away from the places more popular with the 18-23 year old crowd. Anyone from 25-50 can feel pretty at home here.

The biggest issue is that it is somewhat a victim of its own success and there are often long queues to get in as it has a small maximum capacity. It can also get a bit crowded and loud, so if that isn’t your vibe then only visit on a weeknight or during the day on a weekend.

The security guys here are all pretty good natured and friendly to talk to but they won’t tolerate people making trouble so be nice and you will be fine.

The $1 Stan’s hot dogs are amazing, great value and they serve them (and their other food) anytime of the night. The poutine here is also surprisingly good.“

The service is always friendly and attentive, and while I haven’t had a chance to try the food yet, everything I’ve seen coming out of the kitchen looks pretty good.
