“Alumni came highly recommended by multiple friends and I wholeheartedly agree that this is a great place! We got the chicken parm, the dagwood, the parm fries, and the crispy mozzarella. All really great! I found the chicken parm to have an extreme citrus flavour which I did not love though my partner was a big fan.The staff was amazing and very friendly. It is such a cute little space with an amazing atmosphere. We are very excited to come back to Alumni soon! I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu!“
“Pleasant space with free parking , views to kitchen which is warming watching the fire ? the service was great , the waters were refilled often and food came quickly. The pizza was decent and the appetizers not bad , the meatballs could stand a bit more seasoning and they only give a few for the price ....overall wasn't dissatisfied and would return with friends.“
“Vegan Street is a must-visit! Who knew veggie food could be this delicious and flavorful? Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and looked stunning, and the portions were incredibly generous. By the time we finished our appetizers, I was already feeling happily stuffed! We tried Brussels sprouts, ginger beef, kalamari, nacho fries, and pico de gallo - all delicious , but the Brussels spouts was my absolute favorite!? For mains, we had a sushi bowl and the incredible truffle mushroom burger - simply amazing. The ambiance was as charming as can be - the place felt peaceful and cozy.?And those little swings at some tables where too cute and exciting! The whole vibe, with its sweet design and lovely colors, just made the experience even better. Can't wait to come back for more veggie delights! ?? Highly recommended!Vegetarian options: Every dish is vegetarian and seriously delicious.“
“Great service and food at reasonable prices, with awesome craft beer. Free parking nearby. We had a blast playing music bingo, and they have many fun events through the month (art classes, etc.).Parking: Parking on 11th Ave, and on 13th StWheelchair accessibility: Easy access to main doors.“
“Delicious (amazing taste). Affordable. Highly recommended. You know good restaurants in Calgary are hard to find, right?I don’t know why there wasn’t a long line and I don’t know why other western restaurants with similar price range but awful food can survive in Calgary.“
“I went with a foreign friend for the first time today, and I enjoyed the soybean paste, but I especially enjoyed the kindness of the female staff. My friend said he was paying the bill, so I was standing in front of the door, and he said hello to his friend and then to me. I don't think this guy gave a tip, but it's okay to ask about that. Anyway, the next time I go, I'll definitely tip the pretty female staff as a tip. Anyway, I enjoyed the fried dumplings and soy sauce. Thank you.“
“What a cool find. The food was eclectic and amazing. Drinks were delicious and novel (only $10 for a cocktail on saturdays). We had kylie as a server and she suggested the tapas plate witrh 5 different things to try. we will be back for sure!!“
“I've lived in Calgary since 2006 and this was one of the best, if not the best dinner I've had to date. This is having been to many high end restaurants over the years. Enjoyed the beef wellington so much. The old fashioned was seriously incredible both in presentation and flavor! Crab cakes wow, so moist and fresh along with the zesty sauce. Table side Caesar salad , world class. The Continental knocked it out of the park for our table!11/10 not one point less“
“Amazing establishment, Morgan is a phenomenal bartender. From cocktail Classics To originals, she will certainly take care of your every need. Curating our night with the perfect cocktails was breathtaking. I request to end the night on a bourbon cocktail that felt like dessert and was greeted with a personalized cocktail, curated by Morgan herself, called an infinity scarf wrap with a warmth of cinnamon and bourbon with a slight sweetness that ended the night on the perfect note-Carleen“
“This venue is an idyllic setting for families to dine together, offering cuisine crafted with meticulous professionalism and heartfelt dedication. The courteous staff, adorned with genuine smiles, create an atmosphere of genuine hospitality, ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed and at ease. As we savored each dish, capturing moments with photographs to cherish, we couldn't help but vow to share this delightful experience with our friends. Rest assured, we will eagerly return to indulge in the culinary delights and warm ambiance once again.“
“We enjoyed our time so much! The server was lovely and we had great food and drinks. The music was loud enough we weren't distracted by conversations around us but could still enjoy our own. The atmosphere was laid back and yet attentive.“
“Our party of four just had one of the best dining experiences EVER! tonight at Klein Harris! We opted for a “sharing meal” vs individual entrees and everything we ordered was spectacular…. Chef Jamie has a real talent for combining flavours & textures….he could be the winner on any of your favourite TV cooking shows! And it made me proud to know “Canadian Cuisine” could be so elevated! Christina is a marvel with the cocktails…forget ordering a bottle of wine!…you’ll want to try as many of their delicious drinks as you can! And if you’re really fortunate, Justin will be your server… attentive, personable, professional…trust his suggestions and you won’t go wrong! Best dining experience we’ve had in forever! Going back soon. I know I’ll be having cravings until I do!“
“Pigeonhole in Calgary is a fine dining experience in culinary ingenuity and delight. The menu is rather limited and some items are quite pricey so this may not be the place to bring the kids, but incredibly enough they do have a hot dog on the menu. I went with the Stracchiatella & Grilled Radicchio- an absolute flavor festival- along with the Grilled Broccolini and Cheese. Both were fabulous. Service was excellently attentive and quite helpful. Very much recommended.“
“I just visit this cute little spot, and let me tell you, the food was absolutely banging! Plus, the vibe was super chill, and the staff were really friendly. If you're into good food and a laid-back atmosphere, this place is definitely worth a visit!“
“Really great pork belly skewers, shaken beef and cocktails.Next time to try a few new things I’ll order banh mi and the carpaccio - a lot of great stuff on the menu. The Morning in Hanoi cocktail was great (like an espresso martini but Vietnamese coffee). The Pandan Painkiller cocktail put me in the tiki mood - excellent. The Out of Office bourbon cocktail wasn’t different enough to order again, and the spring rolls were… fine, just nothing super elevated like the rest of their bites.Awesome atmosphere and vibe.“
“This is an amazing place. Some of the best cocktails I've had anywhere. The creativity is out of this world, and the unexpected combinations hang together well. These are thoughtful cocktails, not gimmicks. The food is also amazing. Fresh, excellently crafted with contrasts of flavor, seasoning, and texture. The pork, maple, miso bao is to die for, as is the dessert parfait. The bartenders and servers are friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and have excellent eyes for detail in service. The decor is fun and funky, with a wall of gas masks behind the bar, sandbags piled up as a partition between the bar and table service area, and terrific lighting. Finally, Shelter has some of the best acoustic design for dining and drinking of anywhere I've been. There is a nice ambient sound level, and they've got a great playlist, but the room is not very live, so other folks' conversations don't reverberate. This makes it easy to have a conversation without having to talk loudly or strain to listen, which is a rarity in bustling dining and drinking establishments. Whether you live in Calgary or are just visiting, checking out Shelter should be a priority.“
“The vibes here are immaculate ? and the selection of wine and drinks are impressive! Ryan, our server was super knowledgeable and friendly, and had the same taste in wine as me. His recommendation - a glass of 2017 Chorey-Les-Beaune pinot noir was spot on! We also tried a really cool peppery gin from Shanghai. Definitely check out this place!“
“Was here when they first opened and every time I come back I love how consistent they are in terms of quality, service and creativity. Such a cool vibe as well. Carrie made us delicious drinks!Didn't try any food this time as we went for after dinner drinks.“
“Cool vibe! We had the place to ourselves for an early lunch. Streams of twinkle lights and live plants. Tried the Za'atar Mozza Bites and Escargot (Special). For entree, my bro had the beautiful (Special) Octopus and I had the Mussels with coconut red curry sauce. We enjoyed every bite. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, but could use a bit more experience. Special lunch at a reasonable price before walking less than 10 minutes to the theatre. Convenient location with parking across the street.“
“What a chill place. Jordan was very friendly, very helpful, and was very patient with my friend and I as we were making our choices for what to drink. His afro is a wonderful addition to the space and his welcoming smile was better than the cocktails he made tasted.“
“Very chic spot for superb cocktails and champagne. Staff were warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable and happy to share their cocktail expertise. The decor is stunning, like stepping into a Banker's personal railcar from yesteryear.“
“Authentic small family owned restaurant, The two chiefs are parents, and two kids are working in the front, they are working very hard to serve the community during this tough time. Such a great interior design very unique!!!! you can't find it any where in town, you can see how commitment they do what they love and have passion for and not to mention the food is amazing and delicious with full of flavor and spices. My favorite dishes were papaya salad, Pad Thai and Green Curry Chicken. Excellent service with great hospitality. Definitely recommend this restaurant!!!“
“This place was TO DIE FOR! They had a spectacular wine selection, the food was amazing. We ordered some small plates to share and had the lobster nori, cheese fondue and the gnocchi! The gnocchi was the best thing I have eaten in a very long time. The vibes of this place were very lovely, it’s a small intimate restaurant! We found it a bit difficult to find (that is totally our fault). We walked by it multiple times until we finally stopped in at UNA PIZZA. It is located at the back of the UNA pizza take out restaurant next door, just walk to the back thru the curtain and you will find it …for anyone else directionally flawed!“
“They were able to accommodate a last minute coffee Meetup on a Saturday afternoon. They were so accommodating and helpful and we loved every person we dealt with. The food was good (pitas, hummus, falafel, pasta, shakshuka) and enjoyed in a charming space.“
“Amazing queer friendly place! Went for Carly’s Angels (which was as amazing as I remember it) but was also blown away by the service and phenomenal cocktails. From gorgeous aesthetics to palatable vegan food, this place is so worth the visit!“
“I went to the potion room for the first time a couple of weeks ago, the there of the place is so cool and quite nothing like anything else in Calgary. The night I went they had a comedy show which was so goood! I had many laughs with my buddy. The waitress was so sweet and came to chat to us just after the show. The drinks were a fair price and had lots of specials to choose from. I would definitely go back!“
“Visit Modern Steak Kensington for date night and it was amazing. Our server Naz was great and very knowledgeable. The host (forgot his name, sorry) was also very polite and gave us a very warm reception. Thank you for the great service, we had a lovely night ❤️“
“Popped in to have a cocktail while I was waiting for my movie time to approach at the Globe cinema across the street. The cocktail (Smoke) was very good, and the presentation in a glass, smoke-filled case was a nice surprise. I sat at the bar and the service was great, the bartender was friendly and very attentive (they also jumped in to manage front-of-house and seat parties as they arrived). This is a nice spot to sit and enjoy a bite to eat and a drink with friends as a starting point for an evening. I do find that there is something off with the energy of the place and, to be honest, I just can't put my finger on what it is but it might be tied to a mix of the layout and wooden furniture. They advertise themselves as cozy, but I think the wooden furniture works against that vibe a bit.“
“So I visited this restaurant again today and ordered this burger. Let me tell you this, the burger was awesome, and it came in large portion. I've been coming here for the past one year and I am really impressed with what this restaurant has to offer. I've tried most of their menu, and overall their food is great. The staff is friendly and they explain the menu thoroughly if you have any doubts. The atmosphere is in general gives cozy vibes. I usually bring my friends to this place and they love it here. My suggestion is that if you're looking for great vegan and vegetarian options, then this is the PLACE To GO in Calgary. Here's the photo of burger that I had today.“
“Food and drinks were great, as always. I ordered steak and shrimp - Creole style this time and surely did not disappoint . It was perfectly cooked with a nice kick of spicyness. Also the best Sangria I've ever had. Next time we will request an extra scoop of the vanilla ice cream to the Lava cake. Zack was fantastic, very cheerful and you can tell he likes what he's doing with the fun character he adds with his service! Thank you!Parking: Sufficient parking space“
“This place in Calgary hit home... For starters the atmosphere brought nostalgia with retro Corona tables & Pedro Infante portraits, etc. The tacos are amazing, the atmosphere is cosmopolitan but traditional Mexican style, super friendly staff, and the mezcal drinks were on point.“
“Everything about this place is amazing! The food, the customer service and how clean it is. Every time I think about eating here my mouth waters every time.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are delicious I find it hard to find places that have actually good vegetarian options but cactus club has the best selectionKid-friendliness: My Kids love eating here and they love the servers that bring my kids to smile every time we visit.“
“The food was good, I had the Chicken Fajita, full breast, tasty, and more than enough for 1 person. If you shared the fajita an appi that would be plenty of food for two people. As for the service side of the establishment, our server was not great. Atmosphere, same as it was 10 years ago, it need a face lift. Carpets are worn and dated. I like to be truthful about my experiences in hopes the establishments I visit can recognize where they are lacking, so they can mKe improvement.“
“This is a great spot for dinner. The dishes are great for sharing which is nice because you can try a little of everything. The food was de-lish and the server was attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was super chill and intimate. I would definitely go back.“
“Some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. Bao was really good too. This place is incredibly under hyped. I saw two different people go up and thank the chef before leaving, I’ve never seen anyone do that at a ramen place.Prices were really reasonable for the quality of the food, I’d say on the lower end considering what you’d get elsewhere for the same price.“
“This is the only hotel I stay at when I am in Calgary! The staff is top notch, and I love that each tool is its own suite with the Kitchen. It’s immaculate clean, so well designed, and the breakfast options are some of the best offered in YYC. I look forward to my trips to Calgary just because it means I get to stay here. And again I’ll mention the staff. Friendly, helpful and genuinely kind. And that’s without fail! Also I love the tea tree shampoo so much! ? Thank you for so many wonderful stays!“
“This place needs a bit of work but it has potential ! Check it out, there is definitely love and the music is second to none. They serve ZERO ISSUE beers (local) and also brew their own Kombucha (high test) , who doesn't enjoy having cold Kombucha brew or a Nemesis tall boy !“
“It’s a very nice coffee shop, beautiful interior, delicious coffee and croissants but the main thing that makes me want to come back is the employees of this establishment. Very friendly and welcoming guests. Special thanks to Valentina, she was very kind and fed us. My girlfriend and I stopped by Treno Coffee & Prosecco for dinner and were hungry. We wanted something warm and tasty, but there was only salad. Valentina prepared a dish from the morning menu and it was very tasty. Thank you Valentina for your kindness. See you soon!“
“We came here for a staycation and birthday celebration. I always love this hotel. We were craving espresso martinis, and we ended up being disappointed with what we recieved. When I told our sever Ben, he immediately offered to 'personally' remake them how we were anticipating, and he made the most amazing maritini! He seriously made our night and was the best server! We will absolutely come back because of the memorable experience he created for us.“
“Get transported to the 1920s where the booze is flowing albeit secretly and the music is the bee's knees. We were there last night holding a murder mystery filled with shady characters with hidden agendas. This place is very Chicago and made the perfect ambiance for our event. The long shelves in the back held some smart-looking antiques that truly belong in the 20s. The lighting is low and dim as if people wanted to keep their indiscretions secret and avoid a police raid at all costs. In the meantime you have comfy couches, candle light, and a fireplace to make things a little romantic. It was absolutely fabulous. The drinks in this establishment were excellent! The house wine was tasty in all the best ways and not too expensive. It had its own unique zip and the taste of velvet that should be in every glass of wine. Speaking of zip, don't be afraid to have a lemon drop shot. A round of these are known to make you brave when you are celebrating some good times. For a real good time, get one of their specialty cocktails like "Sinatra's Black Tuxedo." All that can be said about this drink is WOW!. The server made a whole display of bringing it on an old dresser dressed in a black tuxedo with mirror to get your picture taken. Then there was the drink itself. It was black at the bottom with white foam at the top. You can see the tuxedo for sure. The taste of it was not a sweet as one originally feared. It has a little sweetness but a nice mixture of sour thanks to the passion fruit. The service was pretty good but admitted that it could have been a little better. Upon entering there did not seem to be a server for over half an hour and no menus. Luckily, the QR code is found on the table and the ball got rolling by visiting the bartender himself. It wasn't their fault though, it was quite a night and not a lot of people on staff. As soon as the drinks were ordered everything became much better after that and had faster service. The servers knew their stuff. They knew every ingredient in their beverages, have good food recommendations (even though we didn't feel like eating), and made a wonderful presentation when we had a special cocktail. They were also very friendly and welcoming to us. They knew how to maneuver around us when we were putting on our show and that is no small feat. All and all, this place deserves five stars and beyond because they do go above and beyond for their patrons. To allow us to throw a murder mystery and play along with our characters, these guys deserve a medal. Must try more of their cocktails and some of those nice looking nachos that have been coming out of the kitchen all night long.“
