I have my own bias. I am East Asian. I used to be working class in Calgary, and then I moved on to study for a master’s degree in Toronto. The Korean auntie used to serve me corn tea in the winter. This is my favourite Korean restaurant in town.

BoRi Korean Restaurant offers some of the best Korean food in Calgary, with standout dishes like spicy soondae gukbap and flavorful soups such as pork intestine and beef short rib. The service is friendly, and although the dining area is simple, the delicious food and reasonable prices make it worth a visit. Customers praise the soup, especially the spicy Korean soup and sundae, as well as the kimchi, which is considered the best in Calgary. The restaurant features three side dishes, with smaller portions than other Korean places, but they are enough for many diners, and extra refills can be requested for free. The food has a homemade taste, comforting and unpretentious, reminiscent of smaller towns in Korea.
The restaurant is known for its large food portions and great taste. Customers especially enjoy the Kam Jai Tang and fried chicken. The ambiance is also praised, and the restaurant is considered one of the best Korean restaurants in the area. The bibimbap, served in a stone bowl to crisp up the rice, and the fantastic soup, which comes with a bowl of rice, are also highly recommended. The staff are friendly and the service is quick.
