Great spot, loved the sando.
I picked up food To go, the classic pork with cheese Sando and a karrage plate. I didn't get very far before the small over whelmed me and I had to pull over and literally inhaled the Katsu sado on the side of the road. Sorry no picture. Also, Get napkins. Edit:spelling
The curry bun hype is real. They are so incredibly good. Truly the best in Calgary if you are craving a Japanese curry bun

First Avenue Corner Store is a small Japanese-inspired restaurant with a fun atmosphere and unique offerings. Known for their delicious Matcha drinks and curry dishes, including curry buns and curry sandos, the chicken katsu is juicy, crispy, and tangy. The sandwiches are highly recommended and come piping hot, juicy, and flavor-filled. The curry pan is absolutely delicious—not too greasy, hot, flavourful, and crispy. The deep fried spicy curry bun is one of the best iterations of Japanese curry, spectacular even at room temp. While the fries may be mediocre, the overall experience is worthwhile and less busy than neighboring restaurants. The entrance is tricky but cheeky—a solid metal door behind the shop labelled "this door." Absolutely fantastic, the food is so delicious and flavourful. Highly recommended!
