Central Grand Restaurant is the best dim sum in Canada.
Consistent for Cantonese Chinese family style food. Dimsum is decently priced for 2026. Dishes are usually tasty but feel heavier with grease & saltiness, but no more than restaurant food usually is—portion sizes are fair.
When the service is somewhat brusque and mean, the Chinese food will probably be good. Also in typical Chinese restaurant fashion there will sometimes be a wedding or event blasting music over your meal.

My favourite dim sum place in Calgary. Very consistent and always tasty, with lots of variety. Service is carts they bring around which I like.

Based on customer reviews, The Central Grand Restaurant offers amazing food and service. The food is consistently great, very savoury, and delicious, with generous portions at reasonable prices. It is an absolutely traditional and delicious HK style restaurant with a range of dim sums and food to choose from. The restaurant features rolling carts, and the dim sum tastes amazing off them. The variety is great, and other menu items like pea shoots in garlic are lovely accompaniments. The food comes out very fast, hot, and fresh. The staff work hard and always take good care of their customers. The servers are pros, very kind, and great with kids, even giving them stuffies. The atmosphere is fun, with walls papered with photos of celebs. It is a must-try Chinese restaurant.
