We ordered a custom cake for my dad’s 78th birthday, featuring a **Star Trek: The Next Generation communicator badge**, and it turned out even better than the photo we provided\! The artistry was incredible, and the cake looked absolutely fantastic\.

The customer service was wonderful, and we really appreciate the hard work and the rush to get his cake ready in time for his birthday\. And, of course, it tasted SO delicious ! 😋

“This is my favourite DQ Calgary! The interior is classic & cozy, and a great place to relax with friends. I love that they don't blast music which makes it a great place for conversations, and a nice atmosphere to unwind. The classic sunroom is the best place to sit. The food is always excellent, and they make top notch Blizzards! They are always super friendly, with great service, even when they are busy, and they are obviously a popular spot. I highly recommend a visit to this location, it is a gem!!!“

“I’m updating my previous review to 5 stars after a fantastic recent experience!

I came here looking for a birthday cake for my daughter after another location wasn’t able to provide a themed cake without several days’ advance notice.

This location completely saved the day — they actually had multiple Minions-themed cakes available, which was exactly what I needed. Another employee added the birthday writing to the cake and did a great job with it.

The highlight of the visit, though, was the customer service. The young employee helping me was brand new — I believe it was only her first or second day — and although she was understandably a little nervous, she had such a wonderful personality and genuinely wanted to do the best job she could. I absolutely adored her. My own first job as a teenager was in fast food, so it was really nice getting to encourage her and tell her that everyone has to start somewhere. ❤

I also grabbed a cheeseburger meal while I was there and had absolutely no complaints about the food.
The restaurant was extremely busy, with lots of people dining in, and the employees were handling a lot. If I could award a bonus sixth star, I’d give it to the staff simply for putting up with some of the customers. 😂 Seriously, people — be nice to service workers!

Between finding the perfect birthday cake at the last minute, the great job decorating it, good food, and genuinely lovely customer service, this visit absolutely earned 5 stars from me.“

“Stopped by around 3 PM today and placed an order — and I’m usually pretty slow at deciding what I want 😂

The girl helping me was super patient and waited with a smile the whole time while I figured things out. She answered my questions one by one and was just genuinely really kind.

This location is usually clean and friendly overall, but today’s service really stood out. I honestly don’t get this kind of customer service at most fast food places.

It’s such a small thing, but she was really nice and genuinely made my day a little better, so I wanted to leave a review. Kinda wish I asked for her name.

A special shoutout to Jinal and Kunwar for always making us feel welcome, like we’re visiting a local mom-and-pop restaurant, no matter how busy the restaurant is (with its convenient location in Deerfoot Meadows, just off Deerfoot Trail, this is clearly a high-volume restaurant, but you’d never know it from the exceptional service they provide!!) Their friendliness, professionalism, and consistency truly set this location apart.

Plenty of parking, the dining room and restrooms are always very clean. Highly recommended!“

“This DQ is very deserving of this shout out and many more. Once a month I'll pop in for a treat on my way to/from running errands and today I thought how lucky we are in this community to have a clean, well managed DQ that time and time again has really friendly staff. They must be treated right here because they never fail to give me a smile and chat me up. Today I ordered something that isn't on the menu but I've been ordering it for 40 years... the Pecan Mudslide. The young man taking my order had no idea what it was or how to ring it up in the register, but he was kind and thoughtful to say he'd figure it out and in the end he did. They never tell me no, they find a way to make their customers happy. I really like our neighbourhood's DQ and all the sweet people inside.“

Over the years we've ordered many cakes from this location. I've brought in photos for the artwork (yoshi, beenie boo's, a Tesla to name a few) & every cake ends up looking even better than the picture I brought!“

“This small location is run by a lovely husband and wife team. They are always friendly and cheerful, even when business is slow because school is out. They remember my kids and ask how they are doing.The ice cream is well made - I loved the old Turtle blizzard recipe and when I come here to order it, they get it exactly right. Thank you for still making my favorites even if they're not on the menu!In response to those complaining about no free blizzards, please remember that each DQ location is a franchise and that the owners can decide what promotions to participate in. Rent at Mac Hall is expensive. It would be tough to give away free blizzards to every university student who downloads an app...“

“I came by for a chili dog and an ice cream, and I must say how impressed I was with the fellow behind the counter. When I walked up he immediately dropped whwt he was doing to take my order. He was quick witted like a classy bar tender, and despite being out of chili he suggested bacon bits on the dog that were just about as good. He got to work right away after the order and went right back to the cleaning he was doing before I got there.I didn't catch his name but you could tell this guy seriously take pride in his work and he's hot a generous nature.It was a unique and personable experience, definitely not what I'd expect from a large franchise restauraunt like DQ. 10/10“

“I've been getting my daughter's ice cream cake here almost every year for ten years. Yes the decor it's a little dated but it's retro, yes the food is dependant on which staff is working but what place isn't like that. The best part about this location is the friendly staff. I've never had any real issues and when one comes up, this staff is quick to find a solution. Just wish we still lived in the NW. Thank you for all the great cakes!

Parking: The parking spots are tight for newer cars and people often struggle, so watch your surroundings and be careful. Seen plenty of cars scuffed up because they didn't take into account how narrow the whole place is.“

The staff in this dairy queen was very kind and they took the time to ask me what I was looking for. They arranged to have a customized cake done for me super quick! I waited less than 10 minutes. “This dq doesn’t accept dq‘s mobile app’s points, cause they don’t have anything to scan the barcode on your phone with. But apart from that, had great service and they were very nice and gave us caps and a carrying tray for our blizzards.“

“Considering there seemed to be only 3 people working and a line up out the door these 3 people handled themselves well under that pressure. We were in and out of there in a decent amount of time considering how crazy it was. Only thing I have to complain about is the ding of the door… it was insanely loud and should be turned off.“

“This is hands down the best DQ in Calgary!!! They load the blizzards to the max, the food comes out fresh and hot and the staff are very lovely. Side Note: This DQ hires local youth from the community and I think that is so crucial especially now when kiddos are struggling to find jobs.“

“I was waiting for my wife in the mall this afternoon to get her hair done. I decided to grab a quick drink while I waited. I want to give a big shout out for the young man serving us. As I lined up, I noticed that he was the only one working. Even though there was a line, he never got rushed or flustered. When it was my turn to order, he calmly asked how he could help me. I gave him my order for a Julius and he proceeded to make the drink correctly and quickly. I asked him if he was all alone there and he replied yes but that is fine. Never a complaint or a negative word. He had a right to be as some customers were less than polite to him. Great employee and deserves to be recognized ?“

“I love how carefree and joyful the workers are. They still possess whimsy and have not yet let evil corporate steal their happiness. They even put peanut butter in my friends cookie dough blizzard, she didn’t even ask for it, she was so surprised when she tasted it! You can tell the workers there like each other because you can hear clapping from the back, such a supportive workplace! 10/10 would go again!“

“A young Muslim girl took my order she was very sweet and kind. I had special instructions and she listened to all of them carefully as I am a slow talker and she didnt seem bothered. Decently fast service here. She was new but she’s pretty experienced given how long she’s been working and honestly was a great person to talk to. Will come back for sure.“

“Out of Biscoff, the flavor I wanted. Also 3 men came in with no shirts on. I thought it was no shirts, no shoes , no service. They were served. I guess it's anything for a sale. The staff was young but they could be trained to say it's policy and ask the men to put shirts on . They had them tied around their neck or waist. It made us upset. My husband said he won't be back. If the health board was notified DQ could be in violation of the health code. Something to think about.“
