The cooks has to do better, I ordered a Nigeria jollof rice and chickenI was highly disappointed. When the food was delivered.
Firstly the rice didn’t taste and smell like Naija jollof rice and very hard…a lot of bay leaf inside up to six.
Secondly, you call yourself African kitchen imagine using Canadian chicken to cook when most of Africans eat the hard chicken.
Thirdly the way it was packaged is very poor.
You need to improve on your cooking skill, I should have check on the reviews before ordering. Most of the reviews for the rice is bad.

I ordered the fufu and egusi soup with beef, the beef was delicious perfectly cooked. The soup was okay needed more in it, it was mostly soup, and wasn’t spicy enough. The fufu was too hard had to chew a lot to be able to swallow.

I tried egusi and fufu for the first time. While the flavors weren’t for me personally, my main concern was the portion size. For $36 plus GST and tip, the meal included about one cup of soup, one chicken drumstick, a small piece of steak, and small side of pounded yam. Unfortunately, the value didn’t match the price.
A Fine Nigerian Dining Experience with a Cosy Atmosphere, AHINKE makes an Excellent Spot for those Seeking to Satisify their Hungry Stomachs with Quality Ingredients Made Fresh 24/7. Made with Genuine Love & Kind-Heartedness.
I am so Graced by the Jollof Rice’s Welcoming Essence, along with the Suya. I'd Suggest Adding some Extra Spiciness to the Jollof for more Pleasurible Sensation - Potent Enough to Satisfy the Palates.
Looking Forward to Stop by for Another Dazzling Treats from your Restaurant!

Ordered online. Note this is my first time trying Nigerian food. Engusi soup had a odd smell.. like burnt? So it was off putting, but the chicken and beef was good. Fufo(poundo) and puff puff were my favorite!

I was not very satisfied with what I ordered. I ordered a half tray of jollof, 2.7 L of shrimp fried rice, and a tray of peppered beef.
Some of the things I found to be good were the service. I was able to place my order on the website with ease, and I also appreciated the call from Ahinke to confirm the delivery time. The portion sizes were pretty good as well.
However, all of the items I received did not meet my expectations. For example, the tray of peppered beef I ordered was about 80% kidney
and only 20% shaki and beef, which I found very disappointing. The peppered beef tasted as though it had been fried only in tomato paste, making the flavor extremely tart and almost inedible unless you forced yourself to eat it.
As for the fried rice and jollof rice, there was barely any flavor. I’m glad I ordered this for just a small group of people to do a test run for my Christmas party, otherwise it would have been a much bigger disappointment.

Came here to pick up some Nigerian food for lunch. I usually frequent a Nigerian restaurant in the NE, but that it has been lacking of late. Decided to try a new spot. Went with the Egusi and poundo with chicken and fish and some puff puff for desert. The food was absolutely delectable. Hot, fresh, made with care and most of all incredibly tasty. Tastes like it was made by your Nigerian friend's Grandma with years of experience and a few good secrets. The atmosphere is very quaint and inviting. I will definitely be back to try more menu items and highly recommend as a 1st choice for authentic Nigerian cuisine!

My friend and I wanted to try fufu for the first time and we stumbled upon this place because it was the only one open on a Monday night. Although they didn’t have fufu, they did have poundo which is very similar and tasted amazing. We had the egusi soup as well as the jollof rice and meat pies and everything was a 10/10. The meat pies were one of the best I’ve ever had, I will definitely come back often and will definitely try out their brunch fusion menu. The staff was also incredibly kind, amazing service and the husband of the owner came and spoke with us, he was so kind and you can just tell how much they love their business.

This restaurant was an absolute nightmare to deal with. I NEVER picked up the order, yet they falsely claimed I did. This is completely unacceptable and shows either dishonesty or total incompetence from their staff. Their communication was terrible, and they created unnecessary problems for my account. Extremely unprofessional place — drivers should be very careful with this restaurant.”

I got egusi with shaki and beef and swallow and zobo to drink. The food was delicious, just what I had been craving! The Chef herself was so kind and warm. The waitress was sweet as well. Loved the afrobeats playing.and the art and ambiance feels like a local Naija shop. Will absolutely be coming back!

Dined here with a good friend and I’m so grateful for the new experience. I ordered the Efo Riro and finished it all. It was that good. The flavour immediately matched a scent I once caught in passing while someone was warming up a West African dish made with greens. I never forgot that rich aroma, and tasting it here brought the memory full circle. The dried fish base was the highlight of the stew. Anyway, I will stop right here.. you just have to try it for yourself one day.
