Great vegetarian food options. Tasty đ and we enjoyed every bit of it. Nice and clean. Free parking and beautiful view by the park with lots of trees.đŽ
We love this place! Weâre really glad that weâve found this place via Google review and came at a quieter time. My kids said their fried rice is the best theyâve ever had. The dishes here are all garlic, onion and MSG free. Canât wait to try the buffet one day.
Been waiting for the restaurant to reopen again. It has a different name now. Loved my lunch (see pic). So delicious, clean and healthy tasting. Will definitely return to try the other menu items. Thank you for a satisfying meal!
Loved the food, it was so so good. Itâs so nice to have restaurants that are fully vegan, instead of having to ask and substitute ingredients. The veggie pancake and rice noodle stirfry were so so good, along with the extra sauces and ingredients they gave. And the service, oh my gosh the service!! We got there a little before they closed (thank you calgary transit) and they told us to take our time and not to worry. They gave us jasmine tea (which is always a lovely addition instead of the usual water). The lady that served us was so friendly and bubbly. And as we were eating, they brought out a red bean dessert and an orange (pre sliced all fancy and everything). They only charged us for what we ordered. This is a new favourite restaurant for us and we will definitely be coming back :)
This place deserves so many more customers!! I just came across Happy Lotus on Google maps while looking for something relatively vegetarian friendly in the area, and this fit our taste perfectly. I didnât even know this beforehand, but they are doing a 10% discount for the grand opening (I didnât see the sign as I came up from the side ramp not the front stairs). The waiter/manager was so kind to tell us how to eat the Vietnamese pancake since weâve never had it before in this style. He also told us this place is run by two shifus from the monastery next door, one of whom made sure we had enough sauce for the delicious pancake. Just be aware, they only accept debit/cash at this time, and the buffet is only on Saturday and Sunday.
Ambrosia Veggie House is a volunteer-run establishment that truly shines with its commitment to quality food and service. Which pose the question, âwhere have you bean my whole lifeâ?
The staff at Ambrosia were incredibly kind and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Their passion for food really showed in every dish they served. The house-made tea from Golden Mountain was a refreshing addition and complemented the meal beautifully.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the pho. It was the best Iâve had in a long timeârich, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. The Malaysian curry was another standout dish; it was aromatic and packed with delightful spices that transported my taste buds to Southeast Asia.
I also loved the fried enoki mushroomsâthey were crispy, light, and a fantastic twist on traditional fried snacks. The papaya salad served on faux shrimp chips was a delightful surprise, bursting with freshness and flavor.
Everything I tasted was not only delicious but clearly made with heart. Itâs evident that the team at Ambrosia is dedicated to providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere alongside their outstanding cuisine. I highly recommend Ambrosia Veggie House to anyone looking for a meal filled with love!

Had their Vegan dinner buffet. Their buffet is small, not much for selections but for $20 I was still full. I quite enjoyed their peanut satay skewers and Thai curry. They had mango pudding as well for dessert and fruit salad. The soup was like Russian Borscht but Hong Kong style but milder. They do change up the dishes as what sells out. Their lunch is $18. Dinner buffet seems to open only Friday from 5-7pm, very short operation hours. Seating is 1 hr. For the buffet. They will charge for food waste. They accept CASH only. All wait staff and cooks are run by volunteers only. Their is a tip jar but I'm not sure if it's donated to the temple or the staff? They serve all types of hot tea pots and they serve vegan hot pots on regular hours. So, no hot pots are served during buffet time. It's a quiet establishment and they have many complimentary Buddhist books and vegetarian/vegan cook books for free or donations. Some is in Chinese. But quite a few in English. A good place to check out but remember the selections are very limited
