We had a great dining experience at Banana Leaf in Calgary.
The Bak Kut Teh was excellent and matched our family’s taste perfectly—our kids loved the broth so much that we ordered an extra bowl.

The Hainanese chicken was just okay and a bit disappointing, but the chicken oil rice was so good that the kids kept fighting over it.

The beef brisket laksa was delicious with a rich and flavorful broth; we even packed the leftover soup...

Wonderful seafood laksa. Service wasn’t great, seemed annoyed we were there and then didn’t want to accept credit card. Since we didn’t have any other payment option he reluctantly took it.

Wow, this place blew me away! The Malaysian food here tastes just like how my friends described it — full of bold, amazing flavors. I tried the Wontons and Malaysian Chili Noodle, and both were seriously delicious. The spices hit just right and the flavors were just right without being overpowering. Plus, the staff were super friendly and made us feel really welcome. If you love Malaysian food or want to try something new, this spot is a total winner. Can’t wait to come back!
