The food and service were amazing. The crispy carrots were out of this world. I would definitely recommend and go back.
Two Of us had dinner at Bar Gigi the other night. I knew it was small but even smaller than I expected. Only 20 or so seats. I'm glad they're doing so well as evidenced by how solidly booked they are. It's very much a unique experience - the food was mostly outstanding in my opinion although I didn't love the chicken - one of the 3 “mains” on offer- the other two being pork loin and the daily special, a 12 oz steak with same jus as the chicken, and frites for $75. I think I'd stick to the smaller dishes if I were to go back as they're more interesting. What I found a little odd was that the plates on offer weren't particularly complimentary to each other - maybe it was what we ordered but there was no guidance from the wait staff on that aspect so we just ordered what looked appealing and unusual. Using udon noodles for the cacio e pepe was an interesting (and practical) choice. Great texture/ mouth feel and I think the noodles absorbed more sauce than a traditional pasta. The sauce was very pecorino forward, silky and salty/cheesy and when we added more pepper it was delicious. (I know not everyone likes that much pepper but it is an integral part of the dish) I'd certainly go back for the mussels, shell less served on brioche cubes in a “lick the plate” Calabrian chili based sauce, and the prawn toast , also served on brioche. We liked the charred cabbage flavour but the texture was a little too crunchy/raw for me. The plates were thoughtfully designed and presented. The service was casual, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. It was a rare memorable Calgary dining experience. The bill came to $220 with tip for 5 plates and 2 glasses of wine.
Single handedly the greatest meal I've ever had. Scallops, Muscles, Prawn Toast, Grilled Bread, Cripsy Carrots, and Potato Ravioli. 1000% Would go again and will always recommend
Literally my favourite place in the city. The drinks were amazing, and the staff are unbeatable!
My favourite fine dining in the city. Every dish is incredible every time I go. Service is so warm, and the ambiance of a 7/8 table restaurant can't be beat.
Would give 6 stars if I could! Super cute intimate space with genuine, personable and knowledgeable service. I would highly recommend trying to mussels they blew us away - thank you so much! Can't wait to come back
An absolute incredible experience dining at GiGi for the first time. Everything from the service, the drinks, the wine, the food was superb. It's the coziest spot and the large windows let you just watch the world go by while you get to experience a lush and delish meal. Incredible romantic but also a great spot to catch up with friends. We will be returning!
Everything was SO good! From the service to the amazing service, our night was perfect! Highly rec!
The food was absolutely amazing and very creative. The service was exceptionally friendly, making the entire experience warm and enjoyable.
I have been lucky enough to eat and many top restaurants around the world and in Canada. This was my 2nd time at Bar Gigi. And oh it didn't disappoint. It succeeded my expectations again! Every dish was truly delicious and unique and a punch to the face with flavours and beautiful balanced. The marinated mussels top dish, prawn toast and scallops are home run and the bread and ricotta and potato and cheese curd ravioli with truffle brown butter and simple but beautiful done. Desserts from lemon posset and pancetta with haskap and crispy phyllo and simple yet beautiful done balanced. I will definitely be back looking forward to more creative and delicious dishes and cocktails. Oh and almost for forgot the chicken, beautiful cooked tender and juicy, with peppery and creamy sauce but the chicken fat fries , shut up, so good.

While the quality of the food was over the top as was the service. However, the ambiance left somethings to be desired. Like the dim, very dim, lighting that made it difficult to read the menu and more importantly experience the colour and physical textures of the food. Turn the light up please.
Now my favourite restaurant in Calgary. The food is incredible, and the ambiance is great.
My favourite place to eat in Calgary. I don't have a bad thing to say about this place. 10/10
Everything we ordered was excellent. The mussels and the shrimp toasts are musts for me. You can't go wrong here. Everything is just so good, even the bread to dip all the sauces. It's a must if you haven't been.
We loved our first meal at Bar Gigi! Will definitely be back. Service was really great as was every dish we tried. I couldn't name a favourite at the end of the meal, they were all that good.
