I was attracted to the restaurant as it was noted that there was an experience - a four course meal on Valentine's Day. However when I arrived at 7:00 they had already sold out of the special. I ordered from the regular menu which was still good, but I would think more planning would help to avoid a similar situation on a day like valentines.
We had the monthly feature for $40/person (lobster based 5 course meal) and have no hesitation saying it was great value. Server was attentive and helpful. We asked for and got table in quieter area. We've read criticisms about the decor that I kind of understand - not super fancy but that doesn't take away from the consistently good food and service.
We each had a sandwich and a non-alcoholic drink for lunch and the bill was what I consider to be a little steep for “meh” sandwiches. I think I'll go back to ordering from the non-sandwich menu.
Food, service and value are always great. Best calamaries around town and we have sampled many. Great spot for families as well. Highly recommended. The specials are themed and always interesting.
As always food is amazing ! One of my fav places for a quieter evening. We mentioned it was my birthday celebration dinner yet the server made no attempts to put out any surprise or even wish me. She was so focussed on my male friend that she wasnt even making eye contact with me. I felt ignored and had to request for water . Its my fav place but am not sure if i had a memorable experience there
My friend and I have had lunch at Bazille since it opened. It seems quieter there than pre-pandemic. Service is always friendly and prompt. I had the beef burger and fries. The bun could have been a bit fresher. I had the kalamata aioli, I love both but I don't think the kalamata olives are a good combination with the mayo in the aioli. My friend enjoyed her crab, mango and avocado salad, she found it satisfyingly crunchy and liked that it had a few thin slices of toast served with it.
I love this restaurant. The cilantro, lime salad is very good but I miss the tortilla chip on top. I tried it with the salmon this time, which is a nice change for the salmon was super over cooked and the salad was wilted. But the server was amazing
Located top floor back of Chinook Nordstroms. Has a good atmosphere. Very friendly service. Washrooms are on other side of store. Consistently good food. I especially like the sandwiches. The specials are season appropriate. Best french fries around, thin, crispy and perfectly spiced.
We were a few minutes late arriving after getting stuck in the cash queue at Chapters. We waited a little longer than normal for someone to take our drinks order, but that wasn't a problem as we were a bit late. When our server/the bartender came over he got my drink order then walked away to the adjacent table. I said, excuse me, my daughter would like something to drink too, he responded with, yeah, one sec and then proceeded to finish up with the other table. It was truly bizarre and definitely a first for me. Anyway, the food was fine. The salmon in the Nicoise was a little over cooked, but the flavour was nice.
This visit was odd compared to previous dining experiences with Bazille. Typically in our previous meals with Bazille, we were served complementary bread/olives, but we weren't this time. The main course was served before we were even halfway finished our appetizers, which got cold as we hurriedly finished our apps, and the quality of the food was lacking. The waitress was attentive and friendly, however.

Quality of food and service here are unparalleled in Calgary. Have never had a bad experience after eating here over 100 times (seriously) with my wife every weekend to have a nice lunch while we have some alone time from our very intense jobs and large family. The food is always phenomenal, and there is not one menu item that will be the best version of the item that you will ever have. My wife and I are very accomplished cooks and we greatly appreciate the intricate ballet of skill, logistics and management that go in to running such a great restaurant. The staff is all the best of the best and really lends policy to a restaurant that already shines.
‘Brunch' was less appetizing than Dennys breakfast- 1 slice of toast, 4 small potato wedges, a slab of eggs in the middle, and two pre-made frozen sausage patties like those found in an egg McMuffin- no fruit or garnish. Kitchen was very slow, ambiance was lacklustre, and our meal was definitely over priced. Not at all what you'd expect in an upscale department store like Nordstrom.
Bazille is an oasis in the middle of chaotic holiday shopping. The atmosphere is intimate and the food is delicious. There is a wide enough selection to satisfy any palette. I had the lime cilantro tacos and they were a perfect snack size
I keep coming back to Bazille over and over again. If you're going to eat in the mall, this is the best. I had to take a star away because I didn't get a very good table, however it was still great food and service.
the manager is literally amazing as is the staff. he foes out of his way to ensure we are taken care of especially my mom. i have been coming here a long time and he really gets it. he is kind polite and on top of it. i expect the best and he delivers every time. praise him as customer service has been tough for a couple of years and recognizing the regular clients and taking care of specific needs is a gift. give this man a raise and a round of applause. thank you. cannot wait to come back
