Amazing experience today at Calgary's latest BBQ joint. We tried the platter and had a good sample of different meats and sides. They were all fresh, warm and very juicy. Seasoning and taste was excellent. We especially liked the brisket which was very juicy and tender. The banana pudding dessert was a nice touch to finish off the meal. Big shout out to Sonja who took care of us during our meal - she went above and beyond to make sure we were good. Will be back!

Great place! Music was a smidge loud, but the food and service were fantastic! Definitely coming back.

This was the 5th bbq place I've been to in Calgary. It was the absolute best! Got the Ranch Hand Platter. Best tasting bbq in Calgary. Can't wait to go back!

The brisket is so disappointed, very dry, not much taste. We drove so far away to have a family there, ordered brisket, chicken wings, turkey, and other food, we planed to order more based on what we like, but we did not since everything was so disappointed. then we ordered the dissert and hoped to cheer us up and the dissert (they only had one option there) was way to sweet, not good at all. we are not going there anymore, with the price, it should have been better, it does not worth it. no wonder on Friday night, it was not busy there.

Kid-friendliness: did not see chairs for babies, we did not ask, they might have them there

We are from Texas & the food & Margarita (made by Sonia) were fabulous! The beer, according to my husband, was outstanding too. Great atmosphere!!!

Came here and really loved the food, and it pairs so wonderfully with Big Rock Beer! The pulled pork is incredible, and you NEED to try the banana pudding. Can’t wait to come back! Plus, Tex and Robyn are so terrific - excited to see all they’ll bring to the Calgary BBQ scene.

Beautiful spot with some of the best BBQ. Don't sleep on the turkey - it was exceptional. Also offered our dog a bowl of water and brisket bites on the patio so it was a fantastic time was had by all.

On vacation from Texas, we ventured to Traylor Parker’s new BBQ restaurant in Calvary at Big Rock Brewery. This place is LEGIT. Upon entering, we saw the huge Texas wooden flag, the sign out back with mileage to Texas towns like Stephenville and Beaumont, and heard the Texas country music.Ordered the brisket and ribs - and they were amazing. Rumor has it the turkey is awesome as well. Didn’t have room for it - or the banana pudding.Owner came to the table twice - he loves what he does, and he does it well.Calgary has a real gem here - a must visit if you want great authentic Texas BBQ. You won’t leave hungry…

Out with the old and it was a bad choice. They replaced a legitimate restaurant with an overpriced sandwich shop. The only drink options are beer, soda and water. There are no vegetables to be found here so if you want to pay $20 for some ok BBQ and an okay bun this is your spot.I won't be coming back.R.I.P. to the old big rock restaurant

Just tried this new restaurant, we arrived a little early and were lucky enough to have a short chat with Tex before we ate. If you like BBQ and are looking for an authentic experience this is the place to go. Every part of our meal was incredible. Had to bring some brisket home for later!!!!!

Ordered the Ranch Hand Platter and loaded fries with brisket on a relatively slow day. The overall flavor and sauces are good. Meats, other than the brisket, were a little dry and that's disappointing. It's pricey here and all sides are extra. Their hours are limited so you need to plan ahead. Overall, it's a notch above average for BBQ in Calgary.

Is five stars enough? It might not be!My wife grew up in the southern United States, and while we've tried a lot of barbecue here in Alberta, this is EASILY the best one (by a Texas mile!!) I was so excited to come here knowing I personally prefer Texas style barbecue over the more saucy southern styles. We ordered the $75 LoneStar platter and banana cream pudding (not pictured) and had lots to take home after eating our fill. The brisket was tender, juicy, melt in your mouth delicious (and yes, it passes the bend test). It's just amazing and easily the best in YYC.The ribs were my wife's favorite on the platter! We like the flavor of them. They were tender without being mushy and had a nice bite to them. The pulled pork on the white bread with a little sauce and slaw was just *chef's kiss*. The quality and smoke on all the meat is very easy to see and taste. We need to talk about the sides! I feel like at most barbecue places, the sides are a throw on to make you feel like you got a "platter." Not here! All family recipes passed down and served to you to enjoy! The beans were our favorite, but all were delicious. Finally, the banana cream pudding. My wife said she hasn't had PROPPER pudding for over 7 years now (last time she was home)... well, this is it, it was so amazing! She's sold on it, and we'll be back just for that (and honestly, everything else). The staff were all so kind and accommodating as well. We really really enjoyed our visit and will absolutely be back again.Thank you, Traylor Parker's we will most definitely be back!!

We brought our kids here for dinner outside on the patio. No wait to get in, and the picnic table with umbrella was clean and perfect for our family of five. It’s a simple menu at the moment—we chose one of the large platters and a smoked Turkey sandwich for our boys to split (the kitchen accommodated and plated it as a split order which was nice).Everything on this Texas BBQ menu is a must try! The brisket and Turkey were real standouts—and our daughter, who is the family rib aficionado, said they’re ere the best ribs she’s ever had.Beer selection is all Big Rock products—but there’s a wide variety to choose from. We had a sample of an exclusive beer on tap which was great.Service is very friendly. We went back and looked at the smokers, which are huge! The kids have been asking to go back, so I think Traylor Parker’s will become one of our regular family outings.
