I guess the one star is for the concept of the cafe and the potential it holds. The overall experience is a 0/5. This is not a Korean-run cafe, so not sure why they advertise it as so; for example their "kimbap" is a singular packaged onigiri (scammed?). Their workers are also not Korean or Asian at that. Service was HORRIBLE; I am not exaggerating when I say this but it's like they hired two boys from middle school. They refer to us as the "n" word when talking amongst each other, and they call my female friends "shorty" (ironic when they're taller than him), "lovely", "sweet thing", "beauties". This treatment is just straight up disrespectful and so unprofessional, it's unacceptable. On top of that, when they were bringing us our food, they did not bother wearing their masks. I sure hope they wore their mask while preparing our food, but it doesn't seem likely. They were also blasting rap music that kept rapping the "n" word so loud that we couldn't even enjoy playing our games. In terms of interior, they sat us in a room that was very crammed for a large party like us. The rooms resemble something like a dark dungeon with pillows. Overall, if you're still curious about this place, I'd recommend coming with a couple people. But if you don't want to end up regretting it, just avoid this place until they hire staff that know at least the bare minimum about how to socialize like adults.

Went to the game cafe last night and the guy working there was absolutely great, we had a bigger group and he accommodated us and made sure we got everything that we needed. it was nice place to hangout and play some games.

I think Bonga Game Café is separate from the Bongarestaurant that was located upstairs, but it could be another venture. Nonetheless, it was very disappointing.I think they do offer a bit better pricing than other board game cafes because they have a PS4, Wii or Switch in every room, decent amount of board game selection and it's a cool spot to hang out with friends.JUST NOT THE FOOD.They need to be honest with their menu and the way they price their food.So we got Kimbap for S4 (kimbap traditionally comes with pickled radish, egg, carrot, fishcake, and cucumber) and we got an ONIGIRI???There is no veggies, just 70% rice & 30% meat, that's literally not what I ordered. Then the half chicken (salt & pepper) for S12, what you're seeing in the photo. Popcorn chicken size almost, for the price and size I got this was very mediocre and it was salty. You would think for a Korean Fried Chicken you would get that same amount, size or taste. Even with the previous owner of Bonga. It was such a let down that we had to leave and go to a different restaurant. When we left they charged each of us $5 for just sitting in one of the booths that is not for the game rooms? I felt like they should have indicated that because none of the game rooms were even available for us to use?Overall, cool concept but they need to fix their menu by being honest and pricing right. Service was very nice, they were friendly.

Was very excited to check this place out; however, I ended up being quite disappointed. Got a private room to play games in with my partner (we chose to play on the ps4). The individuals working there were not welcoming and were indifferent to the customers. The rooms seemed cheap but for 5 dollars a hour I figured it’s what I’m paying for. The rooms were not that clean as the tv and consoles were dusty. I will say I liked how each room had big hand sanitizers available. The game selection is decent but not the best. I think the cafe’s concept is amazing but I don’t think I’d go again.

Did not enjoy the experience there, the food was alright and isn't worth driving for woth all honesty. The fact that they have private rooms is good, but rooms are poorly painted and give a cheap vibe. More games are needed as we had to wait for some games, the video game covers were ripped and looked like they came straight from home. Costumer service was not good, as one employee made inappropriate comments.

Very mediocre korean food. Very soggy Tteok-bokki, soup comes with no rice noodles, they did not follow online order instructions. So sad, really wanted to love this place since they changed to a game Cafe, but the quality has gone downhill.

We chance upon this very intriguing restaurant when we were strolling in Calgary chinatown. So today we decided to try their food. The place is in the basement of a building and you wont see it unless you go down in the basement. We were seated in one of the mini room for a more private dining whichnis good. The owner is good enough to explain how to order the all you can eat for $22.50 dinner. We placed our order as you can see in the picture. Good but not good in taste something is missing specially the beef bulgogi, bibimbap is different and not suit our taste but have to eat coz they charge additional $10 each for left over food so we charged it to experience. Not recomendable place to eat Korean food

Food was average but service was nice. Their food wasn’t as tasty as I thought it would be. I ate here with my family for all you can eat but there are so many restrictions to just have a nice buffet meal.

I had an absolutely UNPLEASANT experience recently. It's my first time coming back to the restaurant after their relocation and I was super excited to bring my partner here. It's his first time trying their food and I've hyped him up so much about how much I have enjoyed the food here. And so, they brought my partner's order 15-20 mins before they brought my order, and by that time my partner already finished his food. I had to watch him eating his food, and then he had to watch me eating my food. We did not mind waiting at all, so long as they just brought the two orders up at the same time so we did not have to watch each other eating awkwardly. It seems like like they forgot about my order because I had to remind them 3 times! Not to mention that the the food was mediocre. Their quality of food and service have gone downhill. Will NOT recommend and will not ever come back.

Really good fried chicken. Ive been visiting them ever since the first visit whenever I need some good Korean fried chicken. Delivery/pick-up is also good.

Ordered three dishes, mine came first, my partner's dish came 30min later. So I finished mine, we kept asking about the soup. It really made for an unpleasant dinner. I'd have rather my rice dish to be late too. Very upsetting, no apologies or compensation for the late food. The bimbimbap was a little cold, they don't use stone bowls to keep the warmth. Mild spice soup was very spicy. Atomosphere is not enjoyable, empty white walls, some bugs on my table. I would not go again. I did talk to the staff several times with no solution. Maybe the old location was nice, but since the move I would avoid.

Haven’t been there in a while but I always loved the dumplings and the owner was super nice

Great little place tucked away in Chinatown. All you can eat is really good value and the food is fantastic. The fried chicken and bulgogi beef were excellent. Very friendly staff as well.

We ordered take out here one night because our regular jajangmyeon place was closed. The jajang was alright. We like our noodles to be al dante so felt like thes noods were a bit overcooked. We liked that the meat was put separate from the sauce. We rarely order the seafood pancake for take out because the pancake is always soggy by the time we get home. In this case though, their pancake was still hot AND crispy when we got home. Was super impressed. The bibimbap was good, nothing too different from other Korean restaurants. We will eat here again and hopefully the next time it'll be dine in.
